Aanchir Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I don't know how likely it would be to see Ninjago minifigures packaged with DVDs. The American DVDs seem to be somewhat low budget, with very little in the way of special features or even fancy packaging. Contrast the DVDs that have gotten exclusive minifigures, which are mostly movies (even the direct-to-DVD ones seem to have higher production values as far as packaging and extra content are concerned), and occasionally, Blu-Ray combo packs (Ninjago has yet to have a single Blu-Ray release, at least over here). Slight correction: Season Two was released on Blu-Ray. But yeah, I don't know if LEGO or Warner Bros would be interested in putting exclusive minifigures in DVD sets, especially for past seasons that have already been released without minifigures. Quote
raarghh Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Placed an order on the Chain Cycle Ambush yesterday, looks like a cool build. Quote
azog Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Hello guys I wanted to say real quickly that my local Barnes and noble still has a ninjago 9450 epic dragon battle for original price of $120, if anyone wants me to pick it up for them let me know Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Hello guys I wanted to say real quickly that my local Barnes and noble still has a ninjago 9450 epic dragon battle for original price of $120, if anyone wants me to pick it up for them let me know Hmm.... Why didn't you pick it up yourself? Even if you already have the set, you may be able to give to someone here instead of someone else taking it if you had it. It's not gonna stay there forever. Heck, if the Ninjago movie sets are limited to the summer wave next year, maybe we'll even get Ninjago boxes with Nya on the header in the winter, considering after this summer's wave she'll be the only ninja not to have been represented. I'm sure if that happened it would greatly increase the chance of her showing up in promotional material like books and minifigure cubes. I'm with Exetrius, if any Nya variant looks beautiful, it's Kabuki Nya. Isn't the Ninjago movie going to have a CMF series? I doubt it'll only be restricted to the ninja, as there's around 10 figs in a CMF wave... Maybe the elemental masters will appear there? Edited April 20, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Seriously, almost every other theme has summer set pictures...an we still have nothing...is the uk not getting sets until august too? Quote

Can't there be one employee that "accidently" puts official pics online, store exclusives included? But, at least here's a bit of news: Nice to see a completely new, double sided face, however I'm not sure if it really fits Jay. It's better than getting the same old face again, so I'm not complaining Edited April 20, 2016 by Exetrius Quote
Aanchir Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Interesting. Looking at the table of contents, it kinda surprises me (in a good way) that the NRG ninja and Kendo ninja all get pages of their own. In the original edition they just had one page for all the NRG ninja and one for all the Kendo ninja. The second facial expression on the new Jay figure is yet another pleasant surprise! I look forward to adding this book to my collection! Quote
DuckBricks Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 But, at least here's a bit of news: -snip- Thanks for sharing! Sadly, there's already an obvious mistake - the Temple of Light's photo in the book's set gallery is incorrect - it displays the dojo from the first year, not the actual set. Quote

You have some very sharp eyes! A careless mistake, I hope that this is an exception. (I'm not really into the Character Encyclopedias in general, because the lack content imho, so it doesn't bother me that much actually). I'm bringing some more small news, a preview of the next Ninjago magazine issue: I have to say that I rather like the combo for the hand drill.. eh.. things. Would be nice if the crystals turn out to be metalized gold, since it's relatively uncommon: http://brickset.com/...ng-part-6051533 Edited April 20, 2016 by Exetrius Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I have to say that I rather like the combo for the hand drill.. eh.. things. I wouldn't be surprised if they called that the gold digger or something like that... If these weapons had names... That's what bugs me about Ninjago. The ninja use no weapons in the show, and if they do they're the basic weapons. However in the sets, they have all these elaborate blades and such... I'd like to see weapons return soon... I really like all these weapon combos they make with their magazines, all in just a few pieces. It's also interesting how they gave away Cole twice... Quote
gunm Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Picked up the chain cycle and jay walker one finally. Quote

TPLSTER21 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 So...Brickset is reporting that someone found the images for the next release of Mixels (October release) in the Lego website's cache. So....chances are, if those images are in the cache and since images for other themes summer sets are out there, perhaps Ninjago images are in that cache as well. So....does anyone who knows how to look for that stuff want to go cache fishing?? Quote
PenPlays Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 So....does anyone who knows how to look for that stuff want to go cache fishing?? If they were there. They would have been found already. Seeing as most European websites aren't listing the sets among their June releases, I'd assume that images will be scarce until June. Quote
HoganPrime Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Check the brick fan. They released the models images either yesterday or the day before. This week the superheroes summer images and mixel images were published Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I'll go fishing after work. I've been a little busy with the event Quote

Darth Wayne Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Kinda out of nowhere but i figure this IS the best place to ask for this right? (correct me if there's a better thread that is still active) So i just got Titanium Zane and am still in awe at what a great figure that is (lttp) but then i wonder, are there actually katanas in the EXACT same color for him, since he does have the holster but no weapons? Titanium Zane is mostly Silver Metallic, so yes. All silver katanas in Ninjago sets are that color, since Silver Metallic replaced the previous silver plastic color prior to the start of the theme. I got quite a few sets but then mostly from the recent Ghost wave and a bunch of older ones but ALL katanas i have in there are either Gold or Black or even that pastel green (ghost wave, GITD like color). :( What's a good older set that has these then? Here's a list of recent sets with them and here's a list of older sets with them (2013 and 2014 sets are on both lists since they could include either the new Design ID or the old one, but the two versions are more or less identical). It's not just older sets that have them, but you're right that the ninja in the ghost wave primarily used other colors due to the emphasis on black "Deepstone" weapons. Quote
HoganPrime Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Speaking of deep stone weapons, I was a little disappointing with the possession wave collectable weapons, previously series have have cool weapons (4golden weapoms/snake blades and staffs/elemental blades/techno/jade/even djinn blades). It's disappointing that the deep stone shuriken weapons don't have fang pieces that represent all the colours of the ninja. There is the white for Zane red for kai and black for Cole, I even managed to have enough spare pastel green fangs to make a shuriken for morro, but i don't think I have any of the coloured fangs for Lloyd Nya or jay, as the majority of other weapons use gold fangs. But one cool way of making them a bit better is using the spare 1x1 printed flats from the skybound sets that have the individual ninja faces on them. Quote
just2good Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 I've seen the huge Samurai X Cave! No, I can't share pictures or whatever. But I can share details. I don't watch the show. But it looks very deserty. Tan for the walls, a big skull at the entrance, there's even some blue prints on 2x4s. There's Wu, Nya (ninja garb), Lloyd, Jay, a Stone Warrior, a Nindroid, White Pythor, and Kozu (?). The inside part has no roof, pretty spacious, and it looks like there's a mini-mech inside, Nya's Samurai X outfit, a launching feature, and a very laboratory-like look. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Golly, thanks J2G for the description! Sure hope the rest of us can see it soon! Quote
