PenPlays Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Now you need to buy the original 4 and the true form... have fun spending > $1000... The benefits of getting into this theme as it began is those 4 dragons. It doesn't help that each of those sets have something to drive the price: Ice Dragon is (was) the cheapest. It was the only way to get a complete Krazi. Earth Dragon was the only Komodo-like dragon, and thustly had cool designs, and a unique head. The lightning dragon was the largest, but also the rarest. It was a TRU exclusive, and even then, it wasn't manufactured at today's production levels. The Fire Temple is the Fire Temple. Most people consider it the pinnacle of Lego-built Asian architecture. So yeah, no wonder the prices have sky-rocketed. Edited April 8, 2016 by Penkid11 Quote

I believe that he is asking about the 2 Ninjago sets that haven't been revealed yet. Spinjitzu Temple Grounds and Samurai X Cave and if either you or J2G had any information on those sets. Quote

the Lego scavenger Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Then what about the sets that we know that have being confirmed, where are their offical images? I mean I only saw one a while ago, back to around page 109 but I would really love some hi-res shots of the titanium ninja tumbler and the ultra stealth raider. I'm basically being waiting for more than two weeks, and yet when I throw money at the sets, it still does nothing! Sigh, that what happens when I want to get misfortunes keep at my local K-mart now for 99AUD and yet the Ultra stealth raider keeps reminding me to wait for it.............. P.S is misfortunes keep any good? Like I said, it's at my local K-mart on clearance now (it's being 3 months since it was on sale and now it's on clearance?) I really want it for the ship so it looks nice against Destiny Bountys 2.0, and because I love big sets in general, and it's the best price now. Just wanted to ask you guys since I saw Jangbricks review it a while ago....... Quote

Just wanted to ask you guys since I saw Jangbricks review it a while ago....... Misfortune's Keep is excellent, having built it myself a few weeks ago. I might even consider it one of the best vehicles any Ninjago villain faction has had. It's not perfect (one particular issue is that the cannons have a nasty habit of unloading if you tilt the vehicle forward), but otherwise it has great functionality and a very unique look. Quote

It was a lot of fun puttin together with my wife and has become a great battle scene for my skybound ninjas. I really love the steam punk design of it and reckon its one of the best villain vehicles (the mech dragon from rebooted is included there as well). I wanted to also say that after having it on my coffee table for two days, I absolutely love the little kai's mini fire dragon. Its a brilliant poly bag and I highly recommend getting ahold of it if you can. Quote

Just wanted to ask you guys since I saw Jangbricks review it a while ago....... Can also recommend Misfortune's Keep. While I don't like it quite as much as the new DB it is a very fun set and serves as a good base for the Pirates, especially if you own the whole crew. You'll have fun finding all the books and crannies to put the crew on the ship. The rotating function is also pretty neat so it's a pretty solid set in my eyes. If you have the rest of the wave , it looks stunning alongside the other pirate vehicles as a unified faction. Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 when you say true form, do you mean the four headed dragon? Because I have that Neat, you've got four dragon heads to use in MOCs and stuff then. But i'd say to get one of the original dragons if you can, their heads are done really well. i know it is subjective but for me new generation of brick-built head dragons are way more appealing. So, to someone who missed/skipped the entire line of dragons from the early season I was not compelled to buy those retired sets. Season 1 had a lot of good picks for sets. Sure the other waves may be better, but it's still taking a look at. Maybe Wisp (lightning dragon), which is the best Ninjago set of S1 for me. Quote

Well I'm just on the fence because I really love certain aspects of the ship itself but Lloyds Exo force flyer looks pretty terrible, the platform is wasted, like only empty space to store the flyer and it should've being larger. Thankfully this is Lego but the high price (still, even at 99AUD) looks like a high asking price for me. Quote

So yeah, no wonder the prices have sky-rocketed. Story wise, these dragons have gone through oblivion, overthrown by the elemental dragons. I feel bad that Flame, Shard, Wisp and Rocky merged to form the Ultra Dragon only to be... forgotten. I was planning to takes these dragons but I ultimately decided to buy only the minifigs. I was planning to get Fire Temple but Temple of Airjitzu was released and it is is undoubtedly on top of LEGO-built Asian architecture now so for me it was an easy decision to let go of the Fire Temple. Those who missed out Krazi can pick up the second wave set this year - 70592 (Salvage M.E.C.) and I'm glad LEGO is doing this throwback sets. I can use more Skulkins for my skeleton army. It's also good that LEGO stopped making these one-off dragon head molds. The rubbery plastic they used for the old dragon heads were awful. I prefer the classic castle dragon in terms of reusability. I love the new elemental dragons they are making. If you don't like the dragon head (e.g. Jay's Elemental Dragon) you can easily remove those slopes sticking out the sides and replace it something less jarring. Neat, you've got four dragon heads to use in MOCs and stuff then. But i'd say to get one of the original dragons if you can, their heads are done really well. Season 1 had a lot of good picks for sets. Sure the other waves may be better, but it's still taking a look at. Maybe Wisp (lightning dragon), which is the best Ninjago set of S1 for me. True, Wisp is the best dragon from that wave. It's the biggest of the 4 original dragons and only smaller to Ultra Dragon.I just hope we see a proper-size dragons for Kai and Cole's elemental dragons... because if LEGO won't release the correct scale for them it's totally unfair for Kai and Cole fans. I saw a great moc, maybe here? of a hull added to the back of the bottom area, like an extra platform that could be raised and work like a slipway for the little boat. It was pretty cool Quote

It was pretty cool sounds pretty nifty. I think that since around June, most stores do a toy sale, maybe then I might buy the product on the lowest price possible, expand the ship and possibly salvage Lloyds flying suit to make it like a jet or something. But now unfortunately I don't have the energy to buy more sets because I just brought 3 Lego sets, one of them being the Ninja DB-X and the other two BvS sets (from clash of heroes to the batmobile) and it took me in total, more than 150AUD (sales, sales everywhere). So right now I am gonna play the waiting game and just find the best price on the ship. Also, Just2Good and CM4sci, any luck with the summer Ninjago sets? It's being so long since one of the members around here said that he knows someone who would leak the images and yet we still haven't got anything at all. The wait is killing me, I just want the lighthouse siege images now! Edited April 10, 2016 by the Lego scavenger Quote
HoganPrime Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I keep checking the brick fan and by the looks of things this weekend might deliver the goods... City, and star wars got their summer reveals and friends did the other day. Hopefully when I wake up ninjago will be there too Quote

Kai is also a useful figure, at least for me. Quote

This is the only Kai set I was getting from this wave, and it's accually really good. On another note, I realized that since I have 3 dragons, I'm gonna have to by the Titanium Dragon and Lloyd's NRG Dragon too. Heck I'll add Sensei's If I can find it on sale. I may wait a while for the NRG DRAGON though. I really don't need anything from the set itself. Quote

I don't think they will release the NK 2nd wave that too early. Therefore I do expect to see Ninjago 2016 2nd wave soon. Quote

gamejutzu Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) the dragon ? I realized a bit ago, that Cole's Rock Roader, has aspects of EVERY vehicle Cole's gotten. His mech suit gunblades are at the back. It has the build of the Jungle Raider and the Tread assault. It's got a turret like the Boulder Blaster. And it's got dual blades coming from the back like Cole's Earth Drill. The detail here's neat. I wonder if Zane's Titanium Tumbler has the same thing going on. Looks more like a vehicular version of the Ninjacopter if anything else though. Edited April 10, 2016 by gamejutzu Quote
