makoy Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 The accessory pack is interesting. Not the army building set that I would like but the selection of minifigures are unique. I can't figure out what armour or outfit Zane has but it certainly looks different. That cave looks very cool, but I can't help looking at it like it is a parts pack more than a set... The MOCcer that I am is cheering about all the cool parts. Exactly my thoughts. If I'll buy Samurai X Cave, it is going to be built once then it will be disassembled to cater for my MOCs. Quote
azog Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 A quick thought I had here. I was looking at the sets a bit more and why is it that all the bad guys have translucent lime green weapons? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Aesthetic. Hahaha probably because Sensei Yang "resurrected" everyone and gave them matching weapons. Quote
obsidianheart Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Their version of the Golden Weapons? Except they're green because of that old meme: Every Villain Is Lime? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Their version of the Golden Weapons? Except they're green because of that old meme: Every Villain Is Lime? OH MY GOODNESS!!! That's sooo funny! Obsidianheart is the winner....of everything. Yep. You win. Anywho, I wonder is Morro will accually get a weapon, because that would make 8 and there aren't 8 spots on the back of the boxes. Quote
Daimar Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Their version of the Golden Weapons? Except they're green because of that old meme: Every Villain Is Lime? So they could be called the "ghoulden weapons"? Quote

Exetrius Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 So they could be called the "ghoulden weapons"? Awesome, now I want to collect them and give them to my Ghost Army! Quote
makoy Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Awesome, now I want to collect them and give them to my Ghost Army! Interested to see how your ghost army would like like with the ghoulden weapons. :) Quote

Yo, we getting a movie next year. It'll be okay. More than likely they'll be some sort of reboot after said movie. Also, maybe Cole broke a Circle and that later will fix it... Yeah, just saw your video. I might sound like an idiot, but it seems like everything from previous seasons is in that poster. Please don't be the final season..... Quote

Please don't be the final season..... Yeah, I'm really worried. And I'm like freaking out in every social media that Lego post this, lol. Anyway, I hope that Ninjago will last till 2020, even after the movie. I just realized that as long as they don't show the golden weapons and the Overlord in this season, Ninjago won't end, as they must mention the golden armor for a reason. TheBrickPal Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 it's not an evergreen theme! Actually, I'm pretty sure it is considered one now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, it's probably just the last wave until the movie. Quote

I'm sorry, I was supposed to be typing "now", not "not". And yes, according to Lego's financial report in 2015, it is an evergreen theme. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 What is the dragon in the moon? I was thinking the same thing. I looked Ying and yang ish Quote
PickleManDan Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I find it interesting that the Temple of Airjitzu is still above ground, while the rest of Ninjago City is on the ground. Quote
PenPlays Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 And yes, according to Lego's financial report in 2015, it is an evergreen theme. Then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Quote
DuckBricks Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I, however, am scared the story will be rebooted after the movie... Quote
PenPlays Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I, however, am scared the story will be rebooted after the movie... Looking at both sides of that coin, I only see benefits. If the story continues, a more lush universe. If the story is hard-rebooted, than we can get brand new characters and concepts that can be reused in future reboots. Think of it similar to Transformers. The only downsides would be the exclusion/ret-con of characters as well as a discontinuation of the story. The sets would still be just as cool. Quote
Aanchir Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I, however, am scared the story will be rebooted after the movie... I've loved Ninjago since the start, but even when it was rumored to be ending in 2013 it didn't especially bother me, because it had told a solid story and I was lucky enough to have gotten to experience it from the beginning. The same will be true if they reboot it: I will have been lucky enough to experience the original continuity from beginning to end. The Ninjago movie is not coming as a surprise, so if it does launch a new continuity, it won't mean the original continuity being cut short before the writers have a chance to finish telling the story they've set out to tell. As for the quality of a rebooted storyline: if it has the same writers then I see no reason to be concerned. Perhaps there might be things they might choose to do differently in a reboot, now that they've seen how things turned out the first time. But these are writers who understand the world and its characters. It wouldn't be a case like the recent Powerpuff Girls reboot where the writers are trying to reinvent something that was not their invention to begin with. With the same writers at the helm, a rebooted Ninjago storyline could arguably even start off stronger than it did at the outset. Since this is the sets topic it'd be a mistake not to mention the sets, and I see no reason why a storyline reboot would impact those negatively. We've seen the Ninjago sets improve by leaps and bounds since the theme began, and a rebooted storyline could make the current quality of set designs its starting point. There's no reason to think a storyline reboot that picks up right where the original storyline left off would mean a changing of hands among set designers any more than among the writers. And even if there were a change in leadership, some of the newest members of the Ninjago design team like Nicolaas Vas have proven themselves to be immensely qualified designers in their own right. All in all, reboot or no reboot, the quality of recent Ninjago sets and storylines leads me to believe its future is pretty well secured. Quote
DuckBricks Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 -snip- -snip- You both make very good points. While I do agree the new story would be rather promising if it comes to fruition, I've gotten rather attached to our current crop of characters and the current story is amazing, so I'd be rather sad if they decide to change it. I see your point, though. Quote
