Lego Ninjago 2016

Well, we've got some more info on the LEGO Ninjago "Ninjaland" at LEGOLAND Billund here (teaser site) and

(fly-through video). No obvious 2016 set teasers (there's Nya's 2011-style ninja costume that was also seen in the LEGOLAND Malaysia stage show, and some similarly "revamped" 2011 costumes for the other ninja, but it's not clear if those are a set thing or just something created for the LEGOLAND parks), but it does give us a better idea of what the attraction will include.

• LEGO Ninjago: The Ride — a 4D ride where you can use hand gestures to interact with the surroundings and fight Ninjago villains like the Great Devourer (I guess making elements shoot from your hands or things like that). Pretty cool!
  
• Lloyd's Laser Labyrinth — pass through two tunnels without tripping the 30 lasers
  
• Jay's Reaction Training — an electronic game where you try to press buttons as they light up
  
• Kai's Spinners — looks like a kinetic, playground-type activity... not much info on this one yet
  
• Cole's Climbing Wall — a 12-meter climbing wall with light-up grips to guide kids along.
  
• Ninja Room — seems to be an exhibit of brick-built ninja and weapons, kind of like the Star Wars character display they have near the life-size X-Wing exhibit.
  
• Nya's Training Room — room with an "interactive water globe" suspended in the center that you can touch.
  
• Dragon Stables — features stable doors of the ninja's four dragons, with "interactive sounds and levers/knobs"
  
• The Great Room — building tables

Oh, that is indeed pretty cool overall. I have never really cared that much for attractions, but I think some of these would even now be enjoyable for me , especially that 4D ride! But imagine how freaking amazing it must be for all the young Ninjago fans to walk around in the real Ninjago monastery! Really a smart move from the theme park R&D branch.

Pretty cool overall!

Shame that every ninja is represented except Zane, who has been pretty much forgotten since Rebooted. Still, the 4D ride sounds interesting, but after I saw a video of how it works, I'm not too sold. Perhaps with better effects, it will feel more like a ride experience than a moving video game... I will reserve judgement, however, until "final" ride videos are posted (or, better yet, I go there myself).

Very confused what you mean by this, since he was one of the main focuses of the Tournament arc (the only reason the Ninja even entered the tournament was to rescue him, and he got a significant redesign), while the latest story arc may not have featured him as the primary focus, but still included him in the group (and set-wise, gave him maybe one of the best mechs in the theme).

Itaria No Shintaku, can you provide us with descriptions of the sets and your thoughts on them? Personally, I've been very curious as to what these sets will look like since we got the names last month!

The prelims looks great, actually! This is my favorite theme I've seen (haven't seen much of the new Marvel/DC stuff, however). Misfort Keep looks awesome, and very much like a Pirates set. It looks like there's new very specialized BURP pieces, however. In that set, it looks like there's a samurai big fig? A little hot air balloon with Wu, Kai, and a little pirate guy on a jet pack. Jay is the little box corner logo.

70605 is a flying jet a little like a bigger version of the Orange Ninja's from 2015 mixed with a pirate ship. There's a neat ramp as well. Includes Lloyd (on some flying/jetpack machine that's big), two to three villain minfigures, and Jay.

70603 is a long pirate ship that reminds me a bit of a Vikings long ship, with a medium sized zeplin piece (looks new). Include Zane and a samurai/pirate villain, and a green villain.

70601 is a very dope looking ship. It looks like a jet with pirate elements on it. I think it includes Cole, and a green villain (?) on a flying thing.

70600 includes Nya (2nd smallest set, too!), Kai, and a flying pirate (same as Misfort, but I don't think that's final). Kai and Nya have cycles.

70599 includes a very small brick built dragon that looks great, with Cole, and a pirate.

70602 includes a brick built dragon (blue with Jay) that also looks great, and Toxicita on a flyer!

Oh, and the Juniors sets - one has Jay, Lloyd, and a Snake. Uses that big juniors arch/door piece with some nice pagoda-like printing on it. The rest is a very simple dragon (looks bad, but that's okay) and a helicopter (like Spidey's, the Fire one, ect).

Other one has Lasha, and Kai. Kai has a Junior's car, Lasha has a motorcycle, and there's a little flame/ramp build.

And, no Skylar. Samurai big guy (for you) looks like a big fig with the head and then a samurai helm moulded on.

Juniors ones look to be the 2012 ones. Actually, both a very 2012-esque, with the snakes and everything. The regular sets have the Summer 2015 outfits, but that may be subject to change.

- Can you describe the gimmicks/action features of 70601, 70603 and 70605?

- Since 70605 was supposed to be called "Tiger Widow Island" is there a land piece in that set? Or is the set name different since it is a vehicle set based on your description? Are you saying the main build looks like the Orange Ninja hover board mixed with a pirate ship? Does it have sails?

- In 70603, is the zeppelin attached to the longship in some way or is it a separate build?

- Also can you tell us what the secondary builds are in these 3 sets? Thanks again for doing this!

Though J2G has been around the forums posting his descriptions, I'm going to post mine too!

General facts - boxes are red and have Jay on them. Main collectable this time around appears to be some sort of dragon sword. New hilt with a stud on it (appears to have a cartoon ninja face) and two axe blades, those energy blades. The minifigures look the same as the summer ones but with a new shoulderpad and new torso prints.

70599 - Small brick built dragon, brown, sand green. Minifigures are Cole and a pirate with a green bandana, orange and brown outfit, and a new sword.

70600 - Two bikes, one for Kai, one for Nya. Nya's in her Water Ninja outfit, holding one of the new "dragon swords." Her bike has little water shooters. Bad guy is green bandana guy, with new sword and a jetpack that includes a trashbin that shoots flaming garbage and orange bits.

70601 - Sky Shark is a small flying vehicle. I see treasure chests inside the [thrusters/engine/whatever] chains, anchors on the ends of the wings, and orange blades (ones featured in 2012 in gold, the one with a bigger version too) Drops dynamite. I think it's Lloyd, but a ninja is included with what looks like a jetpack.

70602 - Wu Dragon-like dragon. Looks REALLY nice. Blue, white, dark blue, gold and black. Bad person is Toxikita? She comes with a little flyer with a 6 stud shooter (in the shape of a cone this time) and a dragon sword. She also comes with a monkey! (one from the old Pirate sets) monkey is grey with orange limbs (one is grey) and a brown stud shooter.

70603 - Really neat ship. It's like a smaller version of the Destiny's Bounty. Skull in front, cannon, anchor on side, steering wheel, etc. The "blimp" part is just the Friends air balloon in orange. Doesn't look to bad, honestly. Pirate flag in the back. Also included in the set is a small flyer with two of the old spinner tops on the sides, along with a stud shooter on each. Zane piloting, holding one of the 'dragon swords' The characters include Zane, a new samurai with dark green armor and orange clothes. Two of the new sword. Pilot is a green snake...which I find kind of weird. All these characters being mixed together. Then again, probably prelim.

70604 - Neat island. Two areas - one is a small rock structure that uses a drill piece as support. On top is a samurai big-fig wielding an anchor! Orange and dark green with a blue face, looks super cool. Also on the small area is a tree that looks really cool, uses a bush piece and has two orange minifig heads hanging from the top. A small wooden thing is used to walk up it. On the bottom of that is a grey/dark green ninja. I think it's Zane. The main part of the set looks sort of like the dojo/temple sets. I see those old ninja swords used on the rooftops. On the bottom is a small cave area with one of the 'dragon swords' protected by some teeth lookin' pieces. Some leaves, then the second 'floor' is just a window. Top is more roof. There's a small spider build included, has one of the 2013 Samurai helmet "crowns" in gold. Above the spider is Sensei Wu wearing a pilot's cap and is in a small hot air balloon! I love it! He is dropping the fruit on the trees onto the spider. Kai is swinging from a vine, and a green bandana guy appears once again with a jetpack made of PoTC bottles and the new sword pieces.

70605 - It's.. it's weird. Think GIANT brick-built animal head with big orange thrusters on the side, the mouth being a sort of landing area, and the top bit looking like the Alien Tripod from Alien Conquest without a dome. Pirate flag in the middle. The back has like two fins connected with something that looks like a spoiler on a car. On the landing area is Jay who is fighting a, and get this... a four armed ghost holding a dragon sword and a samurai sword. That minifig looks completely preliminary, but I'm curious to see how he'll turn out. Monkey appears again in a cockpit near the front. In the back is a spinning barrel with the green snake guy in it. There's a small bad guy flying vehicle with someone I can't make out in it. Orange. The ninja vehicle is an oddly BIG, BIG jetpack piloted by Lloyd who is wearing Space Marine armor in orange.
