Well in that case, it leaves room for improvement. In my opinion, though, Season 5's concept was good, but the execution was somewhat uninspired.

Sadly, yes. I apologize if I sounded whiny earlier, Possession was a pretty okay season, it's just that it had so many noticeable shortcomings. Hopefully they'll do better with Sky Pirates.

Thanks Cm4sci a lot for drawing all those drawings. By the way, I think season 6 will be a whole year season. As most of the ninjas are exclusive to one single set, such as cole, Zane, Nya, Lloyd . And Hageman brothers did mention there might be a new ninja, maybe he will appear in the next wave of sets. Well at least that's what I hope.

I think that it will be a year long season! It could be like the rebooted season where they had two episodes go at a time?

With all these brick-built dragon I am beginning to think that the original dragons have become oblivious already. Those older dragons were hardly even mentioned in the show.

Well, I didn't like those moulded dragon heads anyway ... but what about those collectors who collected the original dragons. How do you feel about this?

Well, story-wise, the four original elemental dragons from 2011 merged into the Ultra Dragon from 2012. It'd be nice if the Ultra Dragon were referenced again in the story, as I honestly can't remember what happened to it after the season two finale (maybe it returned to the Spirit Coves?), but I don't entirely mind the newer, smaller dragons taking its place.

As a collector, the LEGO Ninjago dragons were some of the "must-haves" when I first started collecting in 2011. I quite liked the molded dragon heads, which felt very lifelike and had simple eyes similar to minifigure eyes, which is just how I prefer them. The combination of angular molded heads and angular brick-built bodies seemed like a nice happy medium between entirely molded dragons like we see in the LEGO Castle theme and entirely brick-built dragons like in the LEGO Creator theme.

However, I think LEGO has done an AMAZING job with the brick-built dragon heads in this year's sets! The Titanium Dragon, Morro Dragon, and Master Wu Dragon all have lots of personality and feel very lifelike (or deathlike, I suppose, in the Morro Dragon's case). If you had told me four years ago that Ninjago would be switching to brick-built dragon heads I might have expressed some reservations, but now that I've seen what the LEGO Ninjago designers are capable of, I'm quite looking forward to what future Ninjago dragons have to offer!

Yeah ninjago has been getting better brick wise but plot wise it got worse.

I have to disagree there. The first season definitely had a lot of great moments, but I feel the series has gotten a lot more sophisticated since Season 3. Seasons 4 and 5 were very continuity-driven. There were some episodes I disliked (like the last couple episodes of season four), but there were lots of others I've really loved.

I think that it will be similar to this year's style. 2 seasons. 2 separate waves. Both with their own story. Just smaller waves so that Nexo Knights can afford their advertising push for being a new, media based "big-bang" theme.

i would have to disagree because for lego ninjago sets there is only the sky pirates theme for set wise then it says the ninjago movie sets so there won't be two waves this year? But once again no one knows? :classic:

Normal red with Jay on them.

March for all.

Already shown 70605. 70601 will come tonight.

70605 - by that I mean there is one of these small boats:

with a turret. Assuming the dock can have the other flyer on it, don't see why it wouldn't.

I should mention this, the 'snout' of the dragon is one of those small mini creatures from Hero Factory's last wave, the top half.

Thanks Sci for answering my questions and for taking the time to do all of those drawings! I truly appreciate it!

March??!!!??!!?!!!

Not this again...But I guess with Nexo Knights and Star Wars, that's a wise decision

Not sure what to make of this...March release date could be for Europe which means an N.A./Asia release could be earlier/later. This year, N.A. got the releases in February and August. Europe one month earlier and I believe Asia a month earlier than Europe. I.E. Winter 2015 sets were released in Korea/Singapore in December. Does anyone remember the release dates on the Winter 2015 sets in last year's catalog? Given that 2 Waves have already been released in 2015, it makes sense to hold this off until 2016. Has Lego ever released 3 Waves of a theme in a single calendar year? The other wild card here is the Nexo Knights release. Rumored to be January 16, 2016. Lego has been pretty hard line in the past with release dates for Big Bang themes so doubtful that there will be a soft release of the figs in December. I'm sure that Lego will want to put a spotlight on the release of that line, which means either Ninjago gets a December release which would help pump up TLG's sales for Q4 and the all important Holiday Season or they do leave it for a month or two after Nexo Knights is released. I can see both scenarios happening.

The movie releases in Fall 2017. That movie set list was leaked very prematurely and may not even be the actual list now. We will get another 2 waves after the Winter 2016 Wave. Having said that, it would not surprise me in the least if the Summer 2016 wave is a small one (3-5 sets) with the same Pirate theme so that the focus can remain on Nexo Knights and TLG can use 2016 to build up that line.

Flying Ships, Snake men, Giant Samurai, Ghosts, Ninjas, Pirates, Robot Monkeys and possibly the return of some old characters, this is shaping up to be a very interesting wave, Also, Thank You very much Sci, for all the hard work of drawing these and getting us the information and thank you to Just2Good and the others who have brought us information as well.

P.S.Do you guys think the Destiny's Bounty will be in this story Arc.

The Ultra Dragon was last seen in episode 26, and it was last heard of in episode 27. The very last words ever spoken were:

Why can't we take Ultra Dragon? Or the Ultra Sonic Raider?

Presumably it was at Wu's academy, but since then there's nothing known about it.

As a collector, the LEGO Ninjago dragons were some of the "must-haves" when I first started collecting in 2011. I think that both the molded dragon heads and the brick-built heads have their own particular places. On a ship such as the Destiny's Bounty, the original molded head worked incredibly well to fit the aesthetic style of the ship. Unfortunately, I don't think the same can be said of the Destiny's Bounty 2.0.

No, it wasn't very continuity-driven. There have been enough things that they have completely abandoned, such as Ultra Dragon, Wu's academy and Zane's heart, to mention a few. There were so many things introduced from nowhere, such as Chen and his noodle shops, the DBX, Morro (although at least his backstory contributed to the lore meaningfully) and the 16 Realms, to name a few.

Chen's noodle house was last seen in episode 53, hageman brothers has said that the remaining realms will be for future seasons. And as Borg and wu said, something best kept secret.

I was talking about things pulled out of nowhere when I said most of that, not things that lacked continuity between seasons. Chen's noodle house was pulled out of nowhere, we were told that it was this big massive fast food empire yet no one had ever mentioned it before in the entire series. Secrets such as Morro's existence, while pulled out of nowhere, at least made sense. The sixteen realm's introduction was both the best and worst in this regard, because on the one hand you've got the fact that we had actually seen some of them, but on the other hand you've also got the fact that they had been seen, but the full nature of the was never established.

Regarding the Golden Weapons, we haven't seen them since episode 34, and there's been barely a whisper about them. When the one of the only three characters that knows anything about their whereabouts is possessed and has all of his memories accessed it's more than a little worrying that Morro was so incompetent as to not try and find them.

Probably just the way I'm looking at the drawing, but the lightning dragon looks like it has crystal eyes.

As NinjaJayNuva said, Cole's dragon has it too. Both of them have the eyes made from crystals. I'm kind of mixed on that, I can't imagine having a dragon with transparent eyes and still looking good. One of the great parts about previous dragons was that the eyes stood out even though they were solid colors, and it never looks right when you swap them out for transparent eyes. On the other hand, if done well the eyes will glow, but I doubt they will.

Lloyd didn't know where the golden armor is, only Borg and wu know, perhaps the weapons will return in future season...

Lloyd knew that Borg knew, Morro could have walked Lloyd off a cliff and then possessed Borg to take them. Also, I'm fairly certain Wu doesn't know the location of the Golden Weapons.

Let's just hope the armor return in the future.

Wu Dragon's solid eyes look especially nice. Crystal eyes are an interesting touch, but I'll just have to see if something changes my mind and makes them seem better.

I wonder if we will get any details on the new sets (and I guess the new Season of the TV show) at NYCC this week? Given Ninjago's heavy presence at SDCC this past summer, it would make sense to follow it up with something at NYCC, yes? Lego is attending and they have a booth on the floor. I guess they will do a press release to announce what they are doing/showing at NYCC sometime this week, so we should keep an eye out. There is a similar discussion to going on in the Nexo Knights thread and since Ninjago has become an evergreen theme for Lego (and I suppose somewhat of a popular pop-culture theme) I figured it was worth a mention here.

Hope we will finally receive set image at that time.
