If the four armed ghost is Garmadon, it's going to make death even more of a joke in this line than it's ever been. That being said, I seriously doubt they'll do that. It might not even be a ghost anyway.

I was under the impression that Death is Cheap in Ninjago. Did you really expect Garmadon (a main character) to actually die?

:poke:

I mean, Pythor didn't even though he was apparently eaten by a giant snake who's whole purpose is to eat stuff forever.

Or at least that's my understanding from my wiki-walks.

Also, when did the soft reboot start? I was under the impression the continuity has always been the same?... :sceptic:

Here's to hoping it actually is Evil!Garmadon, so I can get my hands on his Kabuki Mask face finally!

I'll defend Pythor's return because it actually made (well, mostly anyway) sense. After Zane's death, which was done very well (ToE kinda screwed with it though) I don't think anybody actually believed Garmadon was dead. I actually laughed when they brought him back again, not just because everyone knew it was coming but because they immediately killed him again afterwards. Then again, I also loved Galactic Danceoff from Kinect Star Wars so my opinion is irrelevant

NINJAGO was due for cancellation in 2013, but fan outcry kept it going. Should I spoil which year it was that was the reboot?

Remember:

If they don't POOF! (Samukai, Overlord, Kozu) and aren't a robot (Zane and PIXAL), they aren't dead!

It started with the Tournament of Elements. Each character is treated as if they have little backstory in media besides the TV show. The TV show will also make few references to earlier episodes from here on out.

Here are some of the reasons I think it's Garmadon :

#1 Clouse escaped the Ghost Realm, so if he could escape I think Garmadon could to.

#2 The four armed figure is a ghost because Sci said it has the ghost legs.

#3 There are only 3 characters with four arms, General Kozu, Samukai and Evil Garmadon, since it's probably not the other two, it's most likely Garmdon.

and here's my theory, the Preeminent is dying, so to survive it possess Garmadon, thus creating Ghost Evil Garmadon.

Point number 3 is kind of irrelevant. Why couldn't it be a brand-new character? Kozu was a brand-new character when he first appeared in sets. Assuming we've seen all the ghosts that exist is like assuming we've seen all the Serpentine that exist, which next year's sets already show is not the case.

Plus, whether or not Garmadon survived the Cursed Realm's destruction, he lost his extra arms quite some time ago. Why would the Cursed Realm being destroyed make him grow them back? Particularly since with the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu no longer in the picture, he no longer has any need for them.

All things considered, I think the four-armed ghost being a brand-new character is a lot more likely than it being any known character. The new samurai bigfig and at least one of the new Serpentine minifigs are brand-new characters, so there's no reason to think a new four-armed ghost minifigure would have to be a returning character

That was because Garmadon was sent to the cursed realm, not dead .

But Garmy is now dead because of drowning in the Cursed Realm.

Did he die on camera? No? Then he isn't dead.

:wink::poke:

Which does draw into question, if the ghost is not Garmadon, then when will we see this figure? I believe he's been present in a set of every other wave! I can't imagine they'd leave him out of this one for as trivial a concern as his apparant death.

I don't expect garmadon at all. You guys remember that Wu wasn't in the tournament of elements winter wave, right? I think it's the same case for garmadon in this new winter wave. If he comes back, don't see why the four arms would be necessary. It just wouldn't make sense. I think it's a new four armed villain...

Even if he didn't die, LEGO needs to take a Garmabreak

The 4 armed ghost could just be a random placeholder for some other mini-fig and might not even be the prelim of what they are going to include in the set. They might have just tossed some pieces together to represent the eventual final figure from a size standpoint.

Posted

But, they knew that they were putting him in as a place holder, so it would be lame if it didn't have a connection with the final figure, which must have something in common with the beta minifig.

Did you say a 4 armed ghost? Is the torso piece transparent? If so, why would Lego go out of their way to do that?

Posted

Not really, according to Claude's case, he might be alive.

Well the Hageman's hinted that the reason Clouse made it out was he carved a hole in his cage (as he was seen doing in Ep 54) and then presumably escaped before The Preeminent sank. Whereas Garmadon was still bound in his "unbreakable" chains.

Episode citation has to be related to the sets at least at a tangent. Please? Quote the minifigure discussion that needs show talk, or something...

There is a lovely whole new section for LEGO Media now, I might just start moving all posts that are more about the show than the sets into the series discussion thread

My guess is that Misfortune's Keep will come with the leader of the sky pirates as the main enemy minifig. I think that it's not likely he is a ghost. So rather than spoil what he looks like (or not having a finalized design yet), they used the 4 armed ghost as a stand in.

The figure prelim was described as having the Possession "ghost bottom" - i.e. the wispy smoke trail bottom and 2 solid (white?) minifig torsos with I believe a skeleton head and samurai helmet...? It was described as looking like a "very preliminary" design.

I think that based on the nature of the set and the position in the set pic of the mini-fig that whatever it is, it is the sky pirate leader.

Well we've seen how Morro looked like since NY toy fair, 3-4 months before sets came out. Why would they hide the new villain? It doesn't make sense.

Cm4Sci has requested me to build the four armed ghost and post it here, he said that the one I made is already the closest to what he saw in the preliminary catalog, so here we go :

Just speculation on my part. Based on the description on the fig, I did say that Lego was either holding back on the reveal or that the figure itself was not far enough along in the design process to show in the prelims. I'm thinking that the latter was probably the case so I thought maybe they just put the 4 armed ghost there as a placeholder. Thanks to NinjaJayNuva, you can see that the figure is basically a mash-up of various uncolored parts which to me says that this is not what the actual figure will look like.

My other reason for suggesting that we have not seen the "real" figure is my assumption that the figure on the platform battling the Ninja is the leader of the Sky Pirates and it would seem a bit strange to me if he was a ghost, since we just had the Possession wave.

Of course, I stand to be corrected! Hopefully we see some finalized pics of the sets sometime soon.

From what we've seen of the pirates so far, it seems like they are very much a "ragtag bunch of misfits", many of them assembled from factions the Ninja have faced before. So I don't think the pirate leader being a ghost would be out of the question.

The pirates are made up of, A giant samurai, robot monkey, Possibly Toxikita, a four armed ghost, human and serpentine.

Maybe the villain needs four arms, for those weird swords.
