Yes, that's the new Wu.

I personally would love to see some more of the original tan rice hats in this wave. I missed out on it, and now all I can find are the lame gold ones. :sceptic:

100% agree with you. Gold is appropriate for his luxuriously detailed Master outfit, but Wu is ultimately iconic for his simplicity and modesty. I wish the tan one would return and besides that, a black and white version would be great.

So, we can believe that?

The summer set names from Brickset? I mean, I'm not sure. I'm not like Just2Good or CM4S, who get inside sources and scoops. I just go on what others report. I'd like to imagine that Huw Millington made his unknown source verify that they were trustworthy before the info was added to the database, but who really knows?

For what it's worth, I'd certainly like Ronin to stick around. I loved the roguish anti-hero charm he brought to this past season, especially his interesting character dynamic with the idealistic but insecure Nya. My brother suggested that the set names we've seen (which include a new Samurai Cave) could suggest that Ronin himself might take up the mantle of Samurai X now that Nya's done with it, but of course it's still possible that the set names are bunk and we're just chosen as a believable mix of old and new. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Ronin is basically a Mandalorian in Ninjago. How he behaves, and his skill with a lot weapons is unlike a samurai.

Buut, an actual ronin behaves in pretty much the same way Ronin does. When I think of one, I don't imagine them in samurai armor.

He could become samurai x, but it would have to be not bulky or else it wouldn't feel like Ronin, he would also probably have to change his name to samurai as well.

Personally, I'd like Wu to get a robe in nice calm colors. Like a sort of 6-sided version of the Yin-Yang symbol, but using subdued versions of his student's colors (pinkish-red for Kai, white for Zane, one of the many shades of brown for Cole, a light yellow for Jay to keep his part distinct from Nya's, light blue for Nya, tan for Lloyd and sand green for Morro).

Ronin is actually a samurai without master, without purpose. Also like you said, they don't have so many armor.

Ronin's whole no-loyalties "ronin" schtick is a part of why I thought it'd be quite cool for him to take up the mantle of Samurai X. This past season he and Nya learned a lot from each other (him teaching her how to be more easygoing and her teaching him in turn to be more principled), and I think a good next step would be for her to offer him an opportunity to prove he can be a hero with honor, rather than just a renegade looking out for his own interests. And hey, he's already got the mech pilot thing down.

Unlike some people who feel like Nya becoming a ninja was pointless and came out of nowhere, I'm looking at all the new story opportunities it's opened up. Already it's allowed her to train like the other ninja to understand her element, and hopefully it might help give her an opportunity to get close with Jay again so that they can figure out what they have and whether they can make it work (I'd also like for them to work on tech stuff together, because it frustrates me a bit that ever since she became the team's tech whiz, Jay's own love of gadgetry has sort of fallen by the wayside... though it did get acknowledged in Rebooted with his idolization of Cyrus Borg).

I was making a joke that now that he is a samurai, the name "Ronin" would be very ironic

You can say that again. It's gotten very annoying since all she did was fight from her mech suit and being the tech person. Only thing really I'd like for Samurai X to do is use a sword (which never happened). But now that she doesn't rely on the suit anymore (cause it's gone.. *ba-dum-crash*) she will have to get into the action for real, and even learn spinjitzu and airjitzu. I'm curious to know if it's still crimson, or maybe dark pink.

Also, those jetpacks look really unnecessary. If they want to fly long distances, you shouldn't even have a jetpack. In the show, they'll probably just use airjitzu. And Cole having a dragon n the first place implies that he still has powers. Maybe he wished to be human. Only reason I can think of other than LEGO trolling.

Hey, it'd certainly help him to preserve his secret identity.

I don't like the idea of Ronin becoming the "new" Samurai X. Nya's transition was fairly pointless (it was as pointless as Lloyd's "green gi" meltdown) already, and there's not really any actual reason for why Ronin donning a samurai mech suit would make him the new Samurai X. It'd be really cool to see a new Samurai Mech, and it Ronin being Samurai X would make sense, but it's ultimately pointless.

I wouldn't call it pointless, it would be cool to see more character development, after what we got this season, with Nya learning to relax from Ronin, and Ronin to be more loyal from Nya. It would sorta tie up that story arc as a nice conclusion, with Nya growing up, her transition to be a ninja - something that she has felt left out of since 2011 - was important, but who would be Samurai X? What would happen to all the cool gear in the Samurai Cave?

I think that the best resolution to the whole Ronin Nya thing would be for Ronin to become Samurai X, to still use the Samurai Tech that Nya made. It would be the final transition from Ronin being a masterless thief/mercenary to him being an honourable warrior, amd trustworthy ally. To see him leave behind his crooked ways - as we already have started to see - would be a really awesome story.

Nya's character arc as Samurai X wrapped up when she chose to be content with her nature (!!!) as a samurai back in 2012. Her transition from samurai to ninja is ultimately pointless because it's a big fuss over naming conventions, and now she won't use any of her samurai gear without Sensei's permission. All it does really is drive an "equality" narrative that is counterproductive, it promotes equality in general but says that Samurai X, despite being a technical genius, combat expert and wiping the floor with the ninja on multiple occasions, still has to join in with the boy's club to actually mean anything to the plot.

As for Ronin's side in this, it could be done well. If he's still somewhat conniving and not totally convinced to help the ninja unless it's absolutely necessary (a la Catwoman) then I'm on board with that. But if he becomes a boring, bland, goody-two-shoes character like Lloyd then they might as well have never introduced him if they want to create such a radical transformation so quickly. Set-wise, I don't think I could bear another wave of orange and green clad vehicles.

Gotta disagree there. Nya may have been content with being a samurai, but she can't develop much further as a character if she never steps outside her comfort zone. Letting her participate in ninja training under Sensei Wu presented her with a new challenge, and a far greater challenge for her personally than being a blacksmith or being a samurai had been. It helped to build on that established characterization: we'd previously seen her excel at both those previous roles, but this was the first time we got to see how she would react to something that was genuinely difficult for her. Previously, Nya had not been presented as a particularly flawed character, but this season the story got to explore how growing up being good at everything you attempt can itself be a flaw if it leaves you unprepared for the prospect of failure.

What makes Nya's ninja arc interesting isn't that being a ninja is inherently better than being a samurai. You're right, she WAS content being a samurai. But being content shouldn't mean being complacent. When an opportunity emerges to uncover another side of yourself, it's wise to take it. My interest in Ronin possibly taking up the mantle of Samurai X is built on a similar foundation. Characters stand to experience the most growth when you push them outside their comfort zone.

The next season can be about Ronin spending 9 episodes trying to be a sumurai, like Nya.

Combat expert and wiping the floor with the ninja on multiple occasions

Nope. Nowerdays she is as skilled as them, but as a samurai she gets wiped without the mech suit, seen on multiple occasions. She is only as skilled as them now because there are some things a samurai can't do that a ninja can.

The pirate ship with a hot air balloon on the top

You mean the zeppelin? No idea, but seeing as Zane is once again exclusive to one set, it is probably around $40-$60

leaked prices from Canadian Toys r us suggest that Command Zeppelin set will cost around 25-35 usd. Edited by benderisgreat

Sweet, thank you so much! Also I was wondering is the gun the monkey is carrying a different mold compared to the stud shooters?

I think it's the same one, just has chain instead of a regular stud.

Thank you for the info!! That is what I was thinking the price could be for it! That set looks amazing though!!

I completely agree with you. This set is my favorite of the wave with Tiger Widow Island close second. If you've seen prelim picture of Zeppelin set you would notice it's really small build. From drawing earlier in September I thought it was a lot bigger and would cost 50-60$.

But it's flipping zeppelin! So, i'm guessing what made it so big was the air balloon. Take that away and it looks smaller. I don't get why it's called a zeppelin, it looks like a ship with an air balloon on top. And the price sadly means that there will be less deck space.

I like Zane's hovercrowns though. Hope he uses them in the show.

The set will be awesome if it actually comes with the samurai masked pirate and the serpentine. Even if it doesn't, I'm still buying this.

I think it's the only set that comes with samurai pirate guy. He is one good looking minifigure.
