Aanchir Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Just looking at the minifigures, you can get all the new Skybound characters/costumes (besides human Cole's face which I'm sure a lot of us have spares of, and Lloyd's mask) by getting just Jay's Elemental Dragon, the Raid Zeppelin, Tiger Widow Island, and Misfortune's Keep. Though you'll miss out on some of the character tiles from the Djinn Blades that way. I might end up trying to do something like that and Bricklinking the remaining djinn blades, but I'm not 100% certain about that — there are times when I've intended to skip a particular set and ended up getting it anyway on impulse. After all, despite Cole's dragon being small, it's a pretty nice design. And the Sky Shark is pretty appealing as well. Quote

You can get Jay in Misfortune Keep too, with new face. So only 3 sets are needed to complete collection : Command Zeppelin ( Zane), Tiger Widow Island(Cole, Nya), Misfortune Keep(Jay, Kay, Lloyd). Just 3 sets to get all ninja! Wow I think it's a first time we can complete ninja costume collection in such cheap way! Quote

gamejutzu Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) I'm building my way up with these sets. I'm just waiting to see how these are incorporated into the show. Everyone has a jetpack, and mini vehicles aren't really used much in the show (ice spider, Jay-pack, Kai-pack, etc.), and if they are, it's for around one minute. And everyone but Nya has a airjitzu flyer, so why use a jetpack? Except Zane and Lloyd, seems weird. But Jay and Cole do have dragons, but no powers... This is weird. Amazing Bricks Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Nya looks amazing in the tiger widow island set. Thought it was kai at first, but she goes well with the ninja now. There's something good in every set, but I'm getting Coles dragon for sure even though I'm disappointed about the yellow face. I might get the tiger widow island because that's an amazing set. Quote

So you'd still need Jay's dragon because of the sets we've seen so far, it's the only one with Cyren. But being able to get all the minifigures and end up with just one duplicate Ninja is still pretty extraordinary. Quote

I hope Jay and Lloyd have a ninja mask in Misfortunes keep, because the picture shows them without, 2.The new lightning dragon head looks more serpent like, it still looks cool 3.Dog Shanks looks like he might have been created by Nadakhan, because his colors are about the same. 4.Does it look like all the orange in the sets has been changed to Nougat, which is a positive to me, because it gives the sets a darker look. It's actually been changed to Dark Orange, not Nougat. Nougat and Medium Nougat are both considerably lighter. But I agree, it makes the sets look a lot more impressive. The color scheme for the pirates in general (mostly greens and browns) feels very refreshing. I don't mind the ninja sometimes having masks and sometimes not having them, though I especially like when a set includes both their masks AND their hair like Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty did. I wish we'd get a set that had Zane without his mask so we could have his hair in silver. We finally got all the ninja's hair in 2014, and then in 2015 Zane's hair color changed so we're still waiting on a set with his new hair. Quote

Like cole, he has the unique face in the more expensive set while the cheaper set has the normal face. Also anyone notice that cole and kai always come in the cheapest set of the wave? First ever ninjago wave had cole and kai in sets under $10, 2012 was an exception, 2013 had kai in a $10 set, 2014 had cole in a $12 set, 2015 had cole and kai in sets under $10, an now cole in a $10 set. I don't watch the show or care about the story, but there is definitely something climactic about a battle high up in the sky (on a ship!) with the wind gusting in one's flowing hair, tag teaming an unbeatable foe!
