Aethersprite Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 There definitely won't be a filler wave - but from the set names, it's hard to tell what theme the summer wave is going for. Hopefully it's Cole-centric! Quote

8BrickMario Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 It'll be a long while before there is a final wave. This is an evergreen theme. I just hope that that doesn't gradually weaken it. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 Well, I'm sure this lineup of ninja will.come to an end and be replaced by new students/children of the 6 current ninja Quote
Lyichir Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Well, I'm sure this lineup of ninja will.come to an end and be replaced by new students/children of the 6 current ninja I don't know about that. While it could be cool, it's probably more likely to stick with the current characters, since fans have already formed a connection with them. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 Well yeah, but if Ninjago is going to last for along time and Wu has already hinted at Lloyd and the Ninja becoming Sensei eventually. I don't for see the ninja NOT taking on students at some point in time. Quote
Mandate Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I have a strange feeling that the final or near final waves will be around Cole. Since he was the leader after all. And everyone else has had a centering. Was he ever really, though? He made plans every now and again, but Kai's arrogance ended that before the pilot episode was even half way through. Back on-topic, I can definitely see LEGO changing the main cast eventually, or giving the line a temporary break and then reintroducing the line with a fresh set of recruits led by Sensei Kai or something. It would be necessary at one point to reboot NINJAGO, there's no way it's going to last forever in its current form, and set-wise things are starting to get a little stale. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) It will probably be rebooted during the movie, but for now Ninjago has a lot of material they can use, especially since they introduced the realms, now back on topic, I think Misfortunes keep will probably be like the Helicarrier in the show for the fact its supposed to be the pirates base and it has a runway, can't wait for the sets. P.S.Hoping the summer wave list is real because Ronin and the prison both sound cool. Edited November 15, 2015 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Honestly, having the ninja retire from the team would be great. That way, new ninjas would come in. Same thing happened in knights kingdom. The four retired from being knights, two new knights came, jayko became the king. The same thing could happen with Lloyd becoming a sensei. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Well, we know what Kai, Jay and Zane will look like as Sensai. Quote

Knights' Kingdom did that, but we don't have any idea how well those sets sold. Personally, I never felt anywhere near as strong an emotional connection to the new knights as to the originals. Quote
gamejutzu Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Honestly, having the ninja retire from the team would be great. That way, new ninjas would come in. That is possible. They could call it, "Ninjago: New Masters of Spinjitzu" or something similar to that. BUUUT they would have to have different personalities instead of trying to fill in the ninja's. It would be quite lame if they went in that direction. Imagine all the possibilities! They could collaborate with the UA! Another problem I'd have is that they should act as a family rather than a well made team. You should know a character not by how they behave during missions, rather by what they do in their free time and such. Ninjago never had time for that. Was he ever really, though? He made plans every now and again, but Kai's arrogance ended that before the pilot episode was even half way through. It's not only season one where he's leader. In various other episodes, Cole gives an order ( Cole: "Kai, take care of him!" Kai: Me??) or is the one who gets the team together ("Hey guys, *blah* "). Edited November 16, 2015 by gamejutzu Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I was looking closely at Jay's dragon, but I can't figure out how the legs connect to the main body. Hopefully it's different from that of Sensei Wu's dragon - the giant click hinges severely limited the pose-ability of the legs. Quote

Giving singular orders, or taking command of a situation =/= permanent leader. If you want to argue about who gets the team together, it most certainly wasn't Cole in the first season - that was Wu. At the end of season 1 Kai took charge after the "death" of Sensei Wu, creating a plan to take on the Devourer. In season 2, Kai repeatedly had to reel in Cole's need to fight the Stone Army. There's numerous examples of Kai taking charge of the team. Cole being the leader is another relic of NINJAGO's "forgotten past", or the stuff they put in the plot briefly but then canned it to make way for other stuff. Quote

Yeah, but that's only because he's the main character. He's gotta do that sort of stuff to keep him that way, I think of him as sort of the "rally guy". It wasn't canned. The only people "leading" fluctuate between Kai and Cole. When do you see Jay doing that? A lot of the time, you see Cole walking at the front of the group next to, behind, or without Sensei. You don't see Zane doing that. And even if he wasn't leader in seasons 2-3 he still was in the first one. And that still counts for something. He still remembers. What do you think Cole's arc will be about then? I was thinking somewhere other-worldly. Edited November 16, 2015 by gamejutzu Quote
Kaanere Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I think that all this should go in the media forum I think that all the Ninjas will become Senseis in their own way: Cole as a Ghost Sensei, Zane as a robot sensei, etc. Quote
Exetrius Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Honestly people, I know the wait for official pictures and set reviews is long and hard, but the discussion the last pages really belongs in the thread dedicated to the show! Airships with runways are just too cool! I wonder whether it will extend into some kind of hangar or it will be continuous; you can fly in that mini vehicle from the back and make it lift off from the front. I was looking closely at Jay's dragon, but I can't figure out how the legs connect to the main body. Hopefully it's different from that of Sensei Wu's dragon - the giant click hinges severely limited the pose-ability of the legs. Count on the click hinges, they have been used in all big Ninjago dragons and are very stable. Quote

Recently I started trying to reverse-engineer Misfortune's Keep on LDD, and it's given me an even greater appreciation for it. I hadn't previously noticed neat features like the use of ship's masts for connecting the tail fin, or the rollcage made of scimitars. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Guys, can we keep focused on the 2016 Discussion? Anything beyond that is pure speculation and kind of clutters up this area that is designated for the 2016 releases. Quote
gamejutzu Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Recently I started trying to reverse-engineer Misfortune's Keep on LDD You wat? The sets didn't even come out yet. Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 You wat? The sets didn't even come out yet. I've done this a lot over the past year. It's entertaining trying to figure out how it could go together. Actually, I've already built Cole's dragon, and I've also started on misfortune's keep. Quote
Lyichir Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 You wat? The sets didn't even come out yet. Hence "reverse-engineer" rather than "build from instructions". I obviously won't be able to get very far without instructions, or at least high-res pics, but I find it to be a helpful way to focus in on the pictures we have and try to pick out details. I often notice things that way that I wouldn't necessarily notice when focused on the set as a whole. Quote

LegendsOfNinjago Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Is it just me, or does the blade Nadakhan holding onto look gold, including the handle. Quote
DraikNova Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Considering that Cole's dragon seems to have a silver and white blade, I wouldn't be surprised. Quote
