Is it just me, or does the blade Nadakhan holding onto look gold, including the handle.

The blade is definitely gold, but I think the handle isn't and it seems that way due to the 'character badge' being Wu's.

Brickset:

"...Meanwhile, in the UK we have learnt from a reliable source that LEGO stores are intending to put City, Star Wars, Friends, Technic and Disney Princess sets out on the 26th of December while Duplo, Juniors, Nexo Knights, Ninjago, BIONICLE and others will be kept for the 1st of January. It is unknown whether or not a release in the US would alter their plans, although it seems likely..."

Looks like the UK will once again get Ninjago with everything else...i just hope this year the US follows along.

A smarter move for Lego will be to release all 2016 sets on Decembre the 1st, so kids can have them for christmas and the sets sell well. It´s a win-win!

Not really, because the new sets would cannibalize demand for the sets that are already out. The Christmas shopping season is when the vast majority of "summer sets" get sold. If you release sets in December as well, then not only would a lot of stores have to put summer sets on clearance sooner just to make room for the new ones, but the brand-new sets would distract people from the summer sets.

As it is, releasing new sets in January generates new demand to make up for the drop-off in demand after the holiday season, gives retailers new inventory to fill all the shelf and warehouse space that opened up after the holiday shopping season, and keeps the holiday shopping focus on the sets that are already out — which really IS a win-win.

If the holiday season is to buy summer sets, then when´s the time to buy January sets?

I mean a lot of kids can´t buy these january sets themselves and have to rely on christmas and their birthdays to get them. And most kid´s birthday is after June.

Just saying...

Not necessarily. The reason for the January release (along with Aanchir's points) is because kids actually have money at that time (Christmas money/returning stuff they don't like).

Also, I don't exactly know where you got the idea that most kids' birthdays are after June. People are born all throughout the year, you know...

This also goes along the fact that the US will only be getting Creator, Princesses, City, and Technic. The new Technic and Creator sets blend in with previous releases, and won't take away from sales, whereas Princesses and City (Police) haven't had a new release since last Winter (not to mention the City Fire sets who haven't had a new line in nearly three years) so something fresh is needed.

Statistically he's right, for the U.S. at least. There are more children born July-December than January-June. Weird, but that's what statistics say.

It's people are inside from Nov-March here in the US ;)

And suddenly my adult mind has come to a deeper understanding of the truth...

*ahem* Anyway...

I'm curious if we are going to see any exclusive sets sometime next year. Most of the exclusives we got this year from Ninjago were absolutely phenomenal! I just hope that all of the exclusives didn't go to Nexo Knights and that the King's Mech is the only one that has some serious appeal.

That's interesting. The retail catalog stated Ninjago would be a March 2016 release. That moves the timeline up quite a bit, at least for the UK. Very curious as to the R.O.W. release dates and N.A. in particular. If this is the Lego store release date then TRU will probably have the sets out before Christmas. Also, last year Asia got an early release of some of the sets so that might happen again.

Do you have a source for this information or is it speculation on your part?

I didn't knew that :

"In 2013 more newborns arrived in August than in any other month. The second, third, and fourth most popular birthday months were July, October, and September, in that order."

In France, it's from May to September. WIth a pick in May (most baby being conceived in september after the holliday)

The problem is that you have to pay more for sets when they are in early release at TRU

Fair enough. I wouldn't buy the expensive sets early... but I might grab the 10$ set at TPRU early. I needs that new sword before December ends for... undisclosed reasons. Ditto to a demon from Nexo knights if I can grab one.

Me and Lind were actually talking about it in another topic. By comparing skulls we came to the conclusion that it's most likely a borrowing animal.

And Lloyd also has an ouroboros as well as a dragon.

He also surprisingly has a snake on his kimono as well.

Much like Aanchir, it's all based on logic.

Or do you mean you want proof that those themes are coming out first? Your proof.

Thanks! I discovered a post on Brickset shortly after I made this post confirming this as well. And sorry if my initial response sounded a bit snarky. Not my intention at all! :classic:

No problem at all.

Lego's cache apparently updated again with the Ninjago Polybags again. Either that or Brickset finally decided to put them into their database.

That's okay. Until now, I hadn't noticed that the dragon polybag had a new style of Mixel joint! 2x1 with one towball on the short end. Should be useful!

Haha! That's true as well I suppose. Although to be fair, we Americans spend most of our time indoors anyway.

Interesting!

My Toys R Us usually has the sets at normal price when released early, then jacks the prices up once LEGO and other retailers release them. It's weird, but convenient.

Oh, nice! Didn't see that the first time. Unfortunately, that configuration still doesn't solve that annoying problem of legs not being able to swing forwards or backwards... :(
