gamejutzu Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Well, the early 2015 wave collectibles remained exclusive except for one, but those all came in sets cheaper than $20, but I get your point, these will be expensive to get them all. But what's the point of getting every single one? I guess the ninja face tiles are nice to have but there isn't much use for them in general. And wasn't the only thing that was exclusive in early 2015 the jade blades? I got 2 tournament sets and now have 3, I don't even use them that much. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 2015's collectables kinda sucked. As they weren't really used in the show as a colletable the same way the elemental weapons, fang blades, snake staffs and elemental blades. I guess the tech blades even had better use than the jadeblades and areoblades Quote
Exetrius Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I guess the ninja face tiles are nice to have but there isn't much use for them in general. You can bet that this claim alone has just sparked some great ideas! But well, to be fair, 'collectable' says it all: it's not necassarely about use. Quote
gamejutzu Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 You can bet that this claim alone has just sparked some great ideas! Like? Zane iced cookies? Stamps for the ninja's office desk? Quote
bricksfan Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Well maybe labels for the ninja´s clostes I was thinking, or maybe an inaccurate version of the ninja´s folded suits, so many possibilities, plus I´d be willing to bet that there comes an extra face tile. Quote
Dr_Chronos Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) I think the face tiles will be a little tough to use, but I've got a few ideas: Icons, Mech Pilots, Art (like painted detail, bumper stickers, pin-up, signs, emblems, etc.), Worthless Merchandise with Faces on them, Coat Buttons, Belt Buckles, Bottle Caps, those little Face Balls they put on car antenna, and minifig scale Toys. Most of these ideas I don't think I'll do myself. I don't really buy Ninjago. But if somehow I had been given a face tile I would probably take the Space Marine armor (the one with the stud in the center) and make a mech minifigure. Edited December 3, 2015 by Dr_Chronos Quote
Pulp Detective Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Forgive my ignorance but since I don't follow this thread I'm curious to know if we have a realese date for the next wave.Quite frankly I barely buy Ninjago sets but the mix with pirates made me curious. Quote

gamejutzu Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I thought they said later on that it wont be till march? I think the UK release is January. Everyone agrees though that March is the maximum time they can go without releasing them. But that won't work, because then the summer wave would be a few months after, then people would be confuzed. But that won't work, because then the summer wave would be a few months after, then people would be confuzed. It's not all that unusual for a theme to get its first wave in March and its second wave in August. That's how the release schedule was for this year's Ninjago and Elves sets in the United States. Five months is plenty of time between new product launches. For that matter, the release for this year's Chima sets had the first wave in January and the second wave in May. Granted, that theme's summer wave consisted of only three sets. Quote

Aanchir Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Yeah, but a new wave in March, 3 months, then another? It seemed overwhelming. No. A new wave in March, five months, then another. Summer sets (for Ninjago, at least) generally come in August, not June. The main exception is low-priced "gimmick" sets like Airjitzu fliers, which are released ahead of the main summer wave. NinjaJayNuva Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 News incoming! Someone on instagram appears to spot Lego.com product website Ninjago 2016 banner in the Lego shop, he took a picture and post it on instagram. Unfortunately his account is private so I can't link it here, but I can link to those who have re-upload this image, enjoy! Link: Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Well that definitely isn't S@H. I just checked every country on S@H and it didn't show up. Quote
gamejutzu Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Has Jay ever been in the product page? Speaking, he has double swords. That reminds me, are they weaponless as usual or do they use the oversized swords? I mean they used oversized shurikens before, so why not right? Quote

And golden weapons for the win! Quote
gamejutzu Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) It's not possible for them to use the djinn blades. Why not? If they can hold djinn blades, why not use them? They just need to not be their own or be elementless. The only other thing is standard or (most likely) no weapons. Jade blades were more or less the same, just like these blades, and they weren't used. I'd love to believe it's golden weapons, but I don't know if they'll ever go back to those. PenPlays Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Yup. Dogshank, Cyren, and Nadakhan are way cooler than Ghoultar, Cyrus, and Morro. Although they do sound "cooler", they are much like the names of any of the other Ninjago villains. They are each a play-on-words greatly attributing to their respective character's personality. For instance: Frakjaw is a play on "fracture" (the complete breaking of an object, often times a bone) and jaw (he talks a lot). This also could be a play on a potential head injury, a fractured jaw. Mezmo is a play on "mesmerizing" due to him being a Hypnobrai Kozu means "of the tree branches" in Japanese, making reference to him having multiple limbs. In Cryptor's case, his name is a direct reference to a "cryptor." A cryptor used to be a computer tool that would protect an application within a computer (whether legal, or illegal) from being detected or analyzed. General Cryptor's purpose was to do exactly that, to deter the Ninja from reaching the Overlord. Cyrus' (the ghost) name may be base off a character in Chrono Trigger of the same name who is also a ghost and had a knack for fighting. A better, deeper example would be Yokai. Yokai are Japanese ghosts that commonly take the form of humans (something that the Ninjago ghost would love to be). Cyren's name is based off of Sirens, maidens who would seduce pirates to their doom. She's the lady of the Pirates so... These, of course, are small examples, of Lego's character naming prowess.
