I was thinking, maybe the wave after Skybound is about Ronin, because of the prison and the mech.

Why is everyone saying that Clouse is alive? The Cursed Realm got destroyed. Is Clouse is alive, then probably so is Garmy and Chen. And huge yes for sorcerers other than Clouse

We know Clouse is alive because he's the main villain in the (canon) stage show

at LEGOLAND Malaysia, which takes place after Season 5 ("Possession").

I'm not sure why so many people here want more serious villains. Ninjago is an action/comedy series, and in my eyes many of the villains are at their best when they're not being serious. Chen in particular was a really engaging character because he was such a goofball, and Nuckal and Kruncha remain some of the most memorable enemy generals. Others were cool in their own right, but few had nearly as much personality.

That's canon? Wow, didn't see that coming. Just asking, the HB said so, or..?

And also, it's that people are tired of goofy villains and just want some change. Hopefully Nadakhan and Dogshank are that.

Yes, they did! :classic:

Weren't Chen's goons non-goofy enough? Even with the ghosts, only one of the five main ghosts (Ghoultar) was particularly goofy, and IMO he was maybe the best of the bunch. Before this year, the only one of the Nindroid characters who was really goofy was Min-Droid. If we'd been dealing with ONLY goofy villains for two or three years, I can understand people wanting change, but if one goofball villain per season is so unbearable, I'm not sure why you'd even be watching Ninjago.

There hasn't been a goofball-free enemy faction in Ninjago's history.

Some might argue Ninjago will be bland, generic and lame, but when do you see any family-friendly show these days that have a serious enemy?

So this time (future waves) it could be the ninja being goofy (drive the main villain nuts, it would create a nice dynamic).

Also, what if the next-next wave is a continuation of Skybound? Maybe Nadakhan's powerful loot is scattered all over Ninjago, and all those vehicles and dragons are for traversal?

Well, yes, that's my point. I can see people getting fed up if every villain character were goofy, but that's not the situation we're seeing, now or ever. And expecting an entire faction without ANY goofy characters seems a little outrageous, particularly when the theme's never given us any reason to expect an entirely 100% serious faction, whether good, bad, or neutral. Humor's been a big part of the theme (both in terms of sets and story) since it began.

I've heard the summer wave will not be the skybound theme.

What if it's not directly not related to Skybound?

We need to work with what we got here.

All the sets save the Krypt and the temple are dragons, vehicles and mechs.

to be specific, 5 traversal machines and 2 buildings. Have we ever seen that in a wave?

And if this wave had an iconic style to it, then there would be at least one building/vehicle with the theme's style. ToE had Enter The Serpent, serpentine had Snake Truck, Skulkin had Garmadon's Underworld Fortress, Rebooted had the NIndroid Mechdragon, and even the Stone Army gave it away that the theme would be heavy.

Chope and Kapau were real goofy, wouldn't you say?

They weren't goofy, they were realistic people trying to be popular.

I really hope they're alive. I like them more than Nukal and Kruncha.

Viewed from the minifig design perspective, I completely disagree with that. I think they had the most badass designs of the whole bunch, with the oustanding, menacing facial tatoos. It's too bad that the human pirates in the Skybound sets don't have any cool (facial) markings, Bucko and Sqiffy in particular could have better, more unique faces.

BREAKING NEWS!

High - res Ninjago 2016 set images released in Amazon FR , but only two set's URL have been found, and here they are!

http://www.amazon.fr/70602-dragon-elementaire-Lego-Ninjago/dp/B012NOF8C0#immersive-view_1449908153292

http://www.amazon.fr/70600-poursuite-moto-Ninja-Ninjago/dp/B013GY9ZYS

Nice find. I think this images already appearing on Amazon is just a beginning and soon we will have images of all Skybound sets. Also just saw new shoulder pad from the back and looks really cool , 2 swords on 1 side is definitely nice addition to Ninja accessories . Btw what's it with spring shooter in dragon set? I didn't see anywhere it could fit in a set, so perhaps dragons mouth?

Kai's motorbike must have broken LEGO's record for most stupid, pointless and shoehorned in play feature ever created. As for Nya's bike, I'm struggling to imagine what the point of the front of the bike moving up and down is supposed to be. The "Junk Jet" is pretty cool though. I'd like Jay's dragon a lot more if it weren't for that ridiculous "horns" and transparent wings. I'm not a fan of how random the color placements are on it either, but it's better to see the set in-hand for stuff like that. Other than that, they're looking pretty good.

The spring shooters are in the wing arms. It's physically impossible to fit those inside the dragon's mouth given the space constraints shown by the images.

Yup, that's one adorable dragon. Still don't care about the bike set, but I noticed that the flyer in Jay's dragon includes white pirate skull swords. Also, the shooter is on the dragon's wings, near the base.

EDIT: Good god is that image on the right side of the back of the box adorable. It's like a fusion of a puppy and a bull.

Does that spider on the island look like it has a skull or scarab for an abdomen? It's also too bad that Misfortune's Keep lost the last little bit of that skull aesthetic it had in the prelims. Although Lloyd having black Galaxy Patrol armor is nice.

Nya is still wearing last season's Deepstone Armor :sceptic:

There also seems to be no hooded version auf Lloyd.

Anyways, Tiger Widow Island looks excellent, the Villain-Vehicles look great, i'll have to see the Dragon in person to make pass my final judgement.

The two small sets also seem alright for what they are.

That confirms it-- I'm going to use my VIP rewards to get 70603 Raid(?) Zeppelin! Everything about that set is brilliant! I'll try to pick up 70604 Tiger Widow Island, too, but with a February birthday, that would be easier to do if these sets were a January release.

DarthBrickus--Nya has a new outfit in Tiger Widow Island.

Oh, ew, those new white curved slopes just ruin the dragon's head.

Other than that the sets look great. Congrats on the discovery.

Tiger Widow Island is a must have.

I guess this is only the first part of the sets, because there are about 9 more sets on the list according to the bricklink - 70588 Titanium Ninja Tumbler, 70589 Cole's Earth Roader, 70590 Airjitzu Temple Grounds, 70591 Kryptarium Escape, 70592 Ronin Mech, 70593 Lloyd's Dragon, 70594 Watchtower Defence, 70595 Sonic Radar 2.0, 70596 Samurai X Cave

Or are they just in the 2nd wave, whis is going to be released later in 2016? Sorry, if I am mistaken :look:
