Peppermint_M Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hmmm, is this plotline discussion anything to do with the sets at all in any way? If not, please take it to the thread in media. Quote
Exetrius Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) Jang has done a nice review on the Sky Shark in which the face of Flintlocke is finally shown. I think it looks rather nice and useable in a more traditional eastern setting. Well, the first spinjitzu is more mortal like, like he is a mortal with great power. But the Overlord is an immortal and he can't actually be destroyed, as he's evil itself. So I guess he'll eventually return, maybe in a cliffhanger ending for season 7 ! "Where there is light, there will always be shadow." "The balance has shifted..." These and other phrases are strong indications that there must be a fundamental, immortal 'good' as well. I can see the FSM getting re-awakened or something like that for a full-on battle royale. I really want minifigs for the FSM and characters like Ash and Neuro. As I understand it, the light in LEGO Ninjago lives on not through him being immortal but through the descendents of the First Spinjitzu Master and his followers. I think the series as a whole has made it clear that the First Spinjitzu Master has passed away. The ninja even visited his tomb in the latest story arc. But Wu, Lloyd, and the other ninja carry on his legacy. Quote

In fact, I could see the balance shifting to him (Lloyd) instead of The Overlord. Perhaps that could be one of the plots of the future seasons/series? It would be nice to fight an actual evil ninja, not a possessed one. Quote
Exetrius Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Another day, another face reveiled! This time it's Doubloon's alternate face which looks excellent and very accurate: Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Oh, that's excellent. I love the true "second face", just like a "real" oni! Quote
Karateduo1 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Another day, another face reveiled! This time it's Doubloon's alternate face which looks excellent and very accurate: It kinda looks like his angry face upside down. Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) It kinda looks like his angry face upside down. My thoughts exactly! So has anyone seen Doubloon's bio on Lego website? For some reason I can't access WuCru page and read bios. Edited January 13, 2016 by benderisgreat Quote
Exetrius Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Kinda you say? It's almost the exact same face, printed upside down. The mouth (without teeth) is the only exception I can spot, even the chin strap is present on the primary face! Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hmm interesting, Lego has never done that before with any face. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 My thoughts exactly! So has anyone seen Doubloon's bio on Lego website? For some reason I can't access WuCru page and read bios. According to what I read on the latest LEGO Club Ninjago mission, the full Wu-Cru site will launch in February. I think what's there now is merely a teaser. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 More general than just applying to Ninjago, but I just came up with an excuse for all the six-legged spiders in LEGO sets: they're all ant mimic spiders. Quote

NinjaJayNuva Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Funny. The spider in the Skybound trailer also has 6 legs. Well, it wasn't necessary to be a spider, it's called a tiger widow, remember? Quote
DraikNova Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Funny. The spider in the Skybound trailer also has 6 legs. That's why I said it. Well, it wasn't necessary to be a spider, it's called a tiger widow, remember? Actually, the set description calls it a spider. Quote
gamejutzu Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Well, it wasn't necessary to be a spider, it's called a tiger widow, remember? And containing a vial of venom is essential to the show. And it looks like a spider. But the one in the trailer is massive. Is that the queen or something? Quote
DraikNova Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Probably just a show-to-set discrepancy of scale. Also, I'd like to note that the Tiger Widow's fangs look a lot less like spider fangs and more like those found on ants. But I should probably stop concocting weird fan theories here. Quote
Chilly_Productions Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Does anyone have an idea who the villains of the summer wave will be? Quote
Exetrius Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I believe it has been confirmed that old enemies will return, but not sure if that holds true for the show or the sets. The set names don't give away anything about it. Quote

dimaks13 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Tiger Widow in cartoon is much bigger than in the set Edited January 16, 2016 by dimaks13 Quote
DraikNova Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Yeah, that's always the case. Really too bad they didn't bother to give it more detail. One of those 3x6 half-hexagon plates would have matched the cartoon's head perfectly. And then they could use studs to give it the cute eyes it had in the show while remaining in-scale. I'm thinking of making a MOC of it, to be honest. Edited January 16, 2016 by DraikNova Quote
PenPlays Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Do you mean villains, like Samukai? oh wait, he's dead, but that didn't stop Pythor. Apparently every one except for the Stone Army. Whether we're getting the Crew of Misfortune's Keep or Soto's crew (due to what I'd assume will be Misfortune's defeat (pure speculation)) has yet to be mentioned. Quote
Chilly_Productions Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Does anyone have an idea when the prelims will leak? Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Just an FYI for those of us in North America: Both the Canadian and USA online lego shops have the Skybound Sets listed and "Coming Soon March 1st" in the listings. This means that the sets will probably be available at TRU and Target sometime around mid-February. Quote
