CM4Sci Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 So the website Groove Bricks reports that CM4Sci may have tracked down the sets through the Lego Website. They also say Bionicle sets have been found this way in past years. How does one accomplish this? Not sure if giving out the source is cool, we'll lose the ability to use it again Quote
Arkanta974 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hope we have a Collectable Minifigures Ninjago Serie for the movie, it would be great ! Quote
DuckBricks Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 This is slightly off topic, but the Lego employee's magazine reveals that "in ten years time" Ninjago will be "a stable line... With its own phases of renewal... When we relaunch it as a Big Bang." It even states that "we (TLG) now regard Ninjago as an evergreen product on par with Lego City" Quote

benderisgreat Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 So why are Ninjago movie sets are showing up now when movie is coming out in 2017? Were these sets made in advance when movie was supposed to come out in 2016? Quote

Were these sets made in advance when movie was supposed to come out in 2016? I'm guessing it has to do with the movie originally coming out next year, so they're in the database as placeholders, but won't be used until 2017. Quote
Mandate Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Well, that's one mystery explained about the very small set list. Curious as to whether or not the sets will go into redesign, if they were ready to be used in the catalog surely they were not far from completion? Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 We should be getting leaks of the Winter 2016 sets soon, though. And if you watch Just2Good's video on YouTube about more set reveals, he'll show the way that the sets were acquired. Quote

I get employee only magazines from an inside source, as well as the employee sets etc. That's how I leaked all the promotions for this year back in December. I pick and choose what to leak, for example, I knew about Dimensions for quite a while before it was announced. Edited August 12, 2015 by legozebra Quote

TPLSTER21 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Hi Everyone. Just wanted to mention that the 2016 Retailer Catalog is out and making the rounds. I contacted another forum member TwistLaw (Bionicle Forum) who's local toy shop had received their catalog. He attempted to get a look at the catalog to see the Bionicle sets and he told me he tried to get a look at the Ninjago sets as well. However, the store owner/manager would not allow him to see the catalog and provided only some vague info on the Bionicle sets. I did thank him for his efforts on our behalf though! However, now that we know that retailers are receiving their catalogs, it is only a matter of time before we get some leaks. Probably within the next week or so. If any forum members have seen the catalog or set pics, please do feel free to share details!! Quote

TPLSTER21 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Now that we have set numbers/names/prices, time to speculate on what they might contain! 70599: Cole's Dragon Likely a 100-120 piece set. Small dragon for Cole. Likely that piece count will be mostly used up on this model, so probably just an enemy minfig along with Cole and the dragon. This set could be very interesting, given that it would be a dragon build in a piece count range that we have yet to see. 70600: Ninja Bike Race Likely a 200-230 piece set. This name...sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the others. I am confused as to why Ninjago would do yet another bike set when the last wave already had 2 separate sets featuring bikes. I think this might be a design from the cutting room floor of an earlier wave that was shoe-horned into this wave to round it out. Gonna go out on a limb here and say that this set will have...a bike! Maybe 2 bikes! Racing! Seriously, I hope that they at least bring something new to the table here with the design of the bike(s) or have a bike and some other vehicle. 70601: Sky Shark Likely a 200-230 piece set. Same box size as 70600. So, this is a very interesting name and the set could go I think one of 2 ways. First, it could be a creature set featuring an actual freakin' flying shark! Or, it could be some kind of attack aircraft with a shark like design or decoration. Either way, this looks like a set featuring an enemy vehicle. I am very interested to see just what the heck this set will look like! 70602: Jai's Elemental Dragon Likely a 300-320 piece set. Contents self explanatory. Will probably have a small secondary model for the baddies. 70603: Raid Zepplin Likely a 300-320 piece set. Same box size as 70602. Looks like this will feature a larger enemy ship that will be a Zeppelin-style airship. Likely heavily armed and armored. Either this set or 70602 is likely to have a less significant or very tiny secondary build if history is any indication. I think it's probably this one since I imagine that the Zeppelin ship will have to utilize a lot of the piece count. 70604: Tiger Widow Island Likely a 450-550 piece set. Looks like we get 2 "base" type sets for this wave. I imagine one base will be the Ninja's and the other the sky pirate's. Given the other set is called "Misfortune's Keep" and sounds a bit more evil. I will guess this is a ninja base and that the building will be smaller. Maybe just a small tower on a rock formation build. Secondary model could be a pirate airship or maybe some kind of sea creature/serpent? 70605: Misfortune's Keep Likely a 700-800 piece set. Main enemy base with what I would assume to be a fairly substantial Ninja vehicle attacking it since the other sets do not seem to have a major Ninja vehicle in them. What do you all think? Quote
Boogly22238 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I am hoping to see a "gigantic" mechanical shark airship. I would be expecting it to be like the Zeppelin in size, if I go by that piece count. Quote

I think Jay's elemental dragon and Raid Zeppelin with have more pieces then just 300-320 , as in the recent waves the set ( x1 ninja charger, titanium dragon, Jay walker one ) with the same price have more pieces then 320 , they mostly have more then 350 pieces. Pulp Detective Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Tiger Widow Island and Misfortune's Keep.I like the sound of those sets, not only they sound like they are location based sets they also sound piratey.I hope we get alot of pirates in this wave since next year I bet there wont be a second wave for this year's Pirates. The Overlord Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 So majestic, our master shall return ninjago now, Ninjago Forever! I want a reign of the Dark Age Ninjago series where the overlord comes back and is in power for 2 product waves. I'd count on it at some point. Where there is light, there will always be shadow. Ninjago as an evergreen line... That's a rather bold statement. On the one hand, I don't want it to get stale. On the other, the line is one of Lego's best and I don't exactly look forward to it being cancelled. It's rather likely that they will reboot it for the movie, or at least take a break from the show's canon during the year of the movie's release. Quote
Mandate Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 By "evergreen" I would assume it's they're going to reboot it like Transformers, or how they have done with BIONICLE, when the current line/s ends. Quote
Aanchir Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 By "evergreen" I would assume it's they're going to reboot it like Transformers, or how they have done with BIONICLE, when the current line/s ends. Possibly. But "evergreen" is a term LEGO uses for a lot of their themes that they plan to keep returning to again and again, whether or not they get rebooted or re-imagined. Castle, which is frequently re-imagined, has typically been identified as an evergreen theme. But so has City, which has never really been radically re-imagined. The biggest break in "continuity" for LEGO City was when they switched from an eight-pointed star with four studs to a five-pointed star with no studs on the LEGO City Police insignia. On the subject of reboots, there's been a lot of debate about the Ninjago movie and how it might relate to the TV show. All we've heard is that it "diverges from the TV show". But does that mean their continuities will be entirely separate, like the Transformers or TMNT movies and cartoons? In that case, it could arguably be considered the Ninjago theme's first continuity reboot, and the question arises whether that will mean the end of the previous continuity or whether the TV series will resume from where it left off after the movie. But "diverges" could also mean something like some of the Pokémon movies or some other anime movies, which tell stand-alone stories separate from the main TV series. In these cases the movies more or less acknowledge the continuity of the TV series up to that point (the characters and their abilities are more or less the same as when they were last seen on TV), but future installments of the TV series generally do not acknowledge the events of the movies. In any case, I don't imagine there will be any rebooting of the Ninjago storyline before the movie comes out. Quote
Dorayaki Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) Not sure how I should feel about this, I mean, I love the theme but it doesn't feel right to me. Uhm... yeah. I think we'd see some other one-shot action themes like Monster Fighters or Pharaoh's Quest in the future while Ninjago is still there. This is okay to me, but just want to see that LEGO could try to keep doing new themes with longterm storyline plans even after Chima's closure. Ultra Ugents wouldn't likely get continuation, and not sure if Elves is gonna do it bigger. Now Ninjago occupying two waves in one year kinda distract me.I believe that we can hardly see another ninja-based theme even after Ninjago ends, so it'd likely stay for even longer. There are many ways to do reboots with continuity though. They can either do a new generation, or telling a story that happens in a different realm, which is a method TLG can treat with the movie. Like those Pokémon Kaidens which feature the game heroes other than Ash/Red, a Ninjago Kaiden with some unheard elemental masters would be fine to me. Edited August 17, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote

Doubtful. The TLM universe is significantly different to the NINJAGO universe in tone, style and lore- oh wait nevermind I just remembered the idiotic "Realms" idea. Chima might have just been a cameo, but I wouldn't put it past the Hageman brothers to pull a stunt like putting the TV show and TLM in the same world. In any case, I don't imagine there will be any rebooting of the Ninjago storyline before the movie comes out. Aanchir Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Castle, Space and Pirates frequently take breaks in between different lines. There's never been any "radical" reimagining of any of them so long as you follow through to the next consecutive line. I kind of have to disagree there. The "fantasy-era" Castle that ran from 2007 to 2009 is a very different theme from Kingdoms which launched in 2010. The former was heavily fantasy-inspired, with exaggerated shapes to its castles and lots of fantasy races like undead skeletons, trolls, dragons, and dwarves. The latter was much more conventional, with two human factions, realistically-shaped castles. And Knights' Kingdom II, which preceded both those iterations, was radically different from any other Castle theme, with a much more character-driven story. I would call any of those new themes a "radical re-imagining" of the version of LEGO Castle that came before them. They wouldn't have to exist in the same world. The events of the movie could potentially be written so they could take place in either world, which doesn't require the two worlds to be one and the same. And what's so idiotic about the realms? We already knew the Ninjago universe had more than one realm since the pilot, which had characters crossing over from Ninjago to the Underworld. If you don't include that, we also have the realm of darkness where Wu and Garmadon reunited in the first season. The only thing the latest two seasons have done is enumerated the realms and set up a few other ways to travel between them. We probably won't see a reboot until after LEGO's cinematic universe inevitably dies, assuming it even gets off the ground. Gee, you sure are cynical. I guess I should stop being surprised about that. Edited August 18, 2015 by Aanchir Quote
