Lab Journal – 6 Junali 3815

According to reports from our early scouts there exists a plant species on Aeristus that shows very interesting abilities. The one I am interested in is thermal (and visual!) camouflage. If I would have to take a bet I would say that their cells contain a compound similar to the ore. If I could get a sample I could figure out just how they activate this amazing property of the compound.

Lab Journal – 8 Junali 3815

The research is keeping me busy and it would probably be some days before I can set out to collect the samples. I fear that by then M.A.N.T.I.S. will have taken notice of our actions and sample collecting will be impossible. I will have to construct a biomass extractor and send Lazlowe to collect samples.

Lab Journal – 12 Junali 3815

Biomass extractor is finally complete. It is a bit bulky, I hope that the Madam will not be overtaxed. After final tests Lazlowe will depart for Aeristus.

Lab Journal – 12 Junali 3815 – addendum

Like before, while I wait for Lazlowe to return I commit the specs of my latest creation to the database.

I like the design of it, smooth with some cool legs. And the colorful bit on the end really shines next to the gray. My only suggestion would be that, like its namesake, bigger back legs would seem appropriate. Given the weight of those large appendages it would seem that more weight would rest on the back legs and they might need to be beefier. But a neat looking extractor.

Awesome vehicle. I really love it as it looks similar in terms of how you designed the pieces (legs, attachments) to how I did my Zero and Less Than Zero. Maybe it's just the color scheme, but they look like they could be vehicles from the same designer to me!

Only criticism is that it'd be way better to see this thing on a landscape or in the context of a larger MOC.

Really, really cool!

Thank you : )

I agree! The "prototype" looked a little weird because I tried to make them the same as these "short" legs - only elongated, so I scrapped them. I did manage to get a decent "jumper" leg, but I only have 3 of these, so I couldn't make another :/ I was so angry at my collection :D

I love the legs and the wing pods! Really cool design. Very unique.

I'm glad you enjoyed my build to such a degree : ) Thank you!

I think that we simply share the same esthetics and burning passion for Kawashita! :D I wanted to make a terrain(ish) for this mock, because I believe it turned out great and it deserves some ground to stand on :D But, alas, because I wanted to take more pictures of my previous mock, most of my parts we kinda occupied :D

Great build!

Thank you!

Very cool! Does it come in lime green and black?

Depends... If you join Kawashita I will make one for you :P

This is a very nice stubby little beast. I wonder if it has enough articulation to actually walk?

Thank you : ) Yes! The front and hind legs have 3 degrees of freedom (2 for upper joint and 1 for lower joint) and the middle legs have 2 degrees of freedom (1 for each joint).
