Hey all,

My latest MOC is modeled off of a 10x6 Foden S108 crane truck tractor unit run by Mackenzie Transport of Auckland. There are some differences between the real truck and my MOC such as their trucks are white but mine was made in red due to parts constraints and the other difference being that the original Palfinger truck mounted crane on the truck has a five-stage extension on it but my version only has two-stage extension because that was the most I could have before the crane arm became too large and out of proportion. Now for the trailer, a three axle extending trombone trailer. It has full independent suspension, landing gear and of course an extending deck. The trailer extends 29 studs, bringing it to a total deck length of 122 studs/97.6CM.

This is the first time I have used a white background instead of no background and I am very pleased with the results and will definitely do it again. Overall that is a really good moc....special brownie points for the air sprung seats and the two stage telescopic boom.

The trailer is very good two,I think it should steer though and have double wheels( ran out of parts?).

The styling of the cabin and chassis is a bit messy and could be improved (those doors are a bit small).

That's a very well built trailer, you've got the extend-and-retract section nailed. The rest of the MOC is extremely nice too, of course! The cabin does look a little bit too boxy for a Foden, I was expecting the windscreen to be a stud behind the front grille at the bottom as well as two studs behind at the top, or is that just a design quirk of the older Fodens?

As for embedding youtube links, you just need to inset the link into the

formatting with the http protocol - the link you have given won't embed because you have used the https protocol. Remove the s and watch what happens :

Thanks Alasdair, I agree with everything you said, I would definitely have preferred to have dual wheels on the trailer and have steering axles but I did indeed run out of parts. I have never been very good at building cabs but I'm on my way, this is far improved from earlier builds of the cab but it definitely needs work still

Thanks for the explanation Jay, I've added the video to the first post. As I said above, I've never been good at cab building but I'm on my way. The older Fodens are a bit boxier which is why I went for one of these models but the problem with that is that you can then make them look even boxier I will try to do a bit better at cab designing next time

Yeah it's just HoG, it was initially fully motorized with no suspension but it had a major lack of power with two L motors driving it (because OCD deemed that I couldn't have one XL motor off centre ) and the steering had some issues. So I removed the RC functions so that only the crane was motorized and added full suspension to the model. And as I mentioned before my cab building skill leave a bit to desire but they're getting better, the MOC that I just started today will probably look far better given that it's a conventional instead of cabover truck.

I love the extending boom crane :D. I'd love to build one of those myself, some day!
