Luckypat Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 An older themed library with many books, maps and collectibles on the shelves to be seen. A knight statue stands in the center, along with a fossil in an enclosed glass case and a statue on the second floor. The librarians desk sits between two stone pillars with a bottle and an unknown map. This is my first post here on EuroBricks and I am happy to be here. Any feedback/criticism about the MOC? Thank you, Luckypat Quote
Alfadas Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Looks very good. Nice stonework. The details are nice, those chains look very well placed. Great work. Keep it up! Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 This is a very nice build! It has just the right amount of detail. It really reminds me of the library from Indiana Jones for some reason! Welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
pogie Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Nice job. Small critique, you tiles at the end of the run of books should be reversed so you don't see the underside. Quote
mediumsnowman Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Very nice! I like the gold chains as railings. I think it would be cool to add in an old librarian wandering the halls. Quote
Master_Data Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Nice job! Reminds me of the library scene from Harry Potter! Quote
BrickCurve Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Nice Moc, some things to watch out for next time; the main (and only) photo of the Moc is cutting off the edge near the statue, either more photos taken from different angles or a more zoomed out main photo would fix that. Another thing to watch out for is the cape on the statue. The brown cape looks a little odd considering that the statue is stone. I would suggest either an extra piece of armour or a different coloured cape to improve it. Quote
Luckypat Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Thank you everyone for the feedback. Nice job. Small critique, you tiles at the end of the run of books should be reversed so you don't see the underside. Sounds good, thank you for letting me know! :) Nice Moc, some things to watch out for next time; the main (and only) photo of the Moc is cutting off the edge near the statue, either more photos taken from different angles or a more zoomed out main photo would fix that. Another thing to watch out for is the cape on the statue. The brown cape looks a little odd considering that the statue is stone. I would suggest either an extra piece of armour or a different coloured cape to improve it. I have noticed that I cannot get the photos that I would like. I don't have very good lighting or and area to take pictures. Great catch on the statue, I will be sure to change that! Thank you again for the feedback! Edited July 17, 2015 by Luckypat Quote
Regenerate builder Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Great MOC. It has an authentic old-school library feel to it. Just a tip I learned taking pictures with a decent phone camera, try increasing the exposure, that works wonders even in poor lighting. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Fine library with a good and decent addition of the statue. Quote
Nagol of Fortfield Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Lovely! I like it how some books have fallen over, making the library seem unkempt. Also, the angle of the wood in between the second and first floors looks great! Quote

I wasn't trying to get that "authentic" look on them :) Quote

Spader Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Well done! This MOC has some really nice detailing. Keep it up! Quote
ZCerberus Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Very nice. The pics are a bit on the large side though- mind cutting them down to something more reasonable? Quote

This was my first photo here, and I have gotten to know how to make them smaller, brighter, etc. :) Quote
