mediumsnowman Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) NOTE: This build occurs chronologically after Commander Beltar's build but before mccoyed's build. OCS Equalizer Onboard the OCS Equalizer, Octan Corporations Spec Ops flagship 0800 Hours Incoming Transmission Are you sure you want to do this? I do. Beltar is a loose cannon. We could always send someone more... disposable. No, I will go. I've seen him in action. If you want him wearing our colors we must strike while the iron is hot. Very well. [O-D03] An Offer You Can't Refuse What? Huh? Who are you? What do you want? Calm down. My identity is not important right now. What is important is that I represent the Octan Corporation. Is this about those pilots? I'M GOING ON TRIAL FOR THAT! This is not about the pilots. Their deaths were... unfortunate, though inconsequential. I am in fact here to make you an offer. An offer? Yes. Turn your back on the Kawashita Group and join Octan's Spec Ops team. All charges against you will be dismissed and you will instantly be promoted. We know you currently trust Kawashita leadership just about as far as you can throw them. I PILOTED THAT THING, DIDN'T I? Q PROMISED ME THE FILES! Do you really believe that when he is done he will give you what you want? You are a pawn in a greater game. Octan holds the answers you seek. About Q. About Lauren. About everything. How do you know about her?! Octan knows everything that goes on in this galaxy. I'm going to have to say thank you but no thank you. I'll give Q one more chance to make things right. Have it your way. If Kawashita disappoints you again... We'll be waiting. Just give us a call. Kai NRG Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Neat series of builds, mediumsnowman, I especially like the last one - nice work with all the greebles! The story was interesting to read as well, even if I don't know what happens first yet! Quote
aeralure Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Interesting story. I like the Equalizer and the final build especially. Quote
Commander Beltar Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Great build! Neat story too!(of course it is, it has me!) The bar-tending robot is wonderful! The Equalizer doesn't bear the Octan colors ! But looks great! Also, I really like the greebles and the snow. Beltar will most likely not accept the offer...I mean I don't think he'd get a warm welcome from many members after...killing two....of them... I need to start adding a list of tie-ins to my builds! So many of them. ~Beltar Edit: Forgot a letter... Edited July 17, 2015 by Commander Beltar Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I absolutely love this! Your best build(s!) yet! The Equilizer's shaping and design is wonderful! The control room of the Equilizer is perfect! And the bar is also excellent!... And then there's the story, which I personally think is the best part! Octan knows everything that goes on in this galaxy. . The Equalizer doesn't bear the Octan colors ! "A shadow does not bear the colours of that which casts it." Was the official Memo on the subject, I believe. Sometimes corporate can be a little cryptic... I mean I don't think he'd get a warm welcome from many members after...killing two....of them... You'd be surprised... ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Kodan Black Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The Equalizer has a kind of WWII sub feel to it. I like the robot bartender, definitely some creative parts usage on that guy. Quote
Garmadon Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Although it is not in the Octan colors, the OCS Equalizer is very nice, excellent shaping on it! Neat greebling on the last one as well, and the snow certainly adds to the build My favorite thing here is the bar-tending robot though! Quote
shmails Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The Octan floor is great, and I love that bartending bot, nice work! Quote
narbilu Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 After the de-briefing, Beltar presented the letter to the Kawashita board and it will be discussed in the next diplomatic meeting with Octan. Quote
Blackhawk STX Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Great ship! A simple build, but it works really well! Quote
mediumsnowman Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Thanks for all the comments! I elected not to make the Equalizer in Octan colors because you don't really want your Special Forces flagship to stand out in the blackness of space, now do you? Quote
NuckElBerg Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) Hey, no touching Beltar, Darth Jebediah! He might have some... issues, and Q may be some sort of mastermind, but he is not neccessarily an evil mastermind, and he probably has Beltar's best in mind... (and I mean, even if he didn't, he probably has Beltar's "better" than you )! That said, great bar and micro-ship! I also love the barkeep! Thanks for all the comments! I elected not to make the Equalizer in Octan colors because you don't really want your Special Forces flagship to stand out in the blackness of space, now do you? Well, technically, the distances in space make visual readings pretty useless, so most spaceship instruments measure other things instead. So... having it in Octan colours would probably not be a problem, just saying. Edited July 21, 2015 by NuckElBerg Quote

pombe Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Great story and beautiful scenes/presentation! I like the idea of using black for the ship (I was totally not going to build a black ship with Octan red and green stripes for my Challenge 2 entry and say it was for stealth reasons...nope, not at all), and the bar scene is fantastic!
