Thanks for posting those directions. I just flipped through the HTML ones, very accessible. I wish we got such good directions for all the great MOCs that people have posted.

I will definitely be building one of these. I have a lot of the pieces in stock, so I may just see what happens and substitute or modify whenever I don't have something. I've been wanting a new AT-ST for ages.

Thanks again.

I've indeed included HTML instructions generated by the LDD, but I wouldn't suggest following them, as the scale/camera that the LDD picked is a bit weird & make it hard to follow.

Better install the LDD & follow the animated instructions, those are very easy.

This said it's all easy to build. It was 90% sweat in the design, 9.9% finding the parts, 0.1% assembling.

Nice one.

Maybe you can consider a full sized version of the Elite AT-ST.

That variant replaces the side cannons and the 2 main cannons for a pair of 3-barrel rotary blasters mounted on each side of the walker. I've used it in Star Wars: Commander however in the app's launch trailer it has the regular colors while the in-game version is black-colored.

Should be an easy mod, as long as the whole thing can be held by 4 studs. But I'm only finding 2 rough pics of those attachments.

I'm considering making a variant with a bit of mud, even though not many parts exist in brown or flesh.

But I'm also considering making some kind of Tie fighter/AT-ST mashup, in the same vein as the funny Snowspeeder/AT-ST MOC which I can't find back.

yeah that's the one, I love it, it looks like some kind of cute chibi bat :)

I didn't know it was for a hybrid competition, some of the entries are cool.

I don't if you have already seen this before, but there is actually something similar to your idea of a TIE fighter/AT-ST here.

ah yes, it's exactly that! funny

Little update: I was hoping that those 1x2 slopes would one day appear in LBG, to improve the model, and it didn't take long - they're out there since the Lego Dimensions starter packs. They shape the end of the chin better:

Yep, I find that the most unheard of vehicles from the Empire's arsenal are straight up ludicrous in their bizarre designs.

But nevertheless, I would look forward to seeing your adaptation, with already a great start on the cockpit/head—if you plan to do it at some point that is.

Aha! I was also excited to discover on Bricklink that they appear in the starter set, finally in LBG. Now I am hoping they will appear in much more sets, so they can become readily available on BL—at the moment I need 46 of them for my AT-AT and AT-ST I have been building!

From the alteration you've made, It does help shape the chin with the consistency of LBG—do you plan to swap in a LBG inverted bracket instead of DBG?

On a side note, for my AT-ST, I have actually implemented your technique with the inverted bracket and 1 x 2 slope, as well, your innovative use of paint rollers and mudguards for the waist/hips.

Don't tell anyone, but they're available in Lego's Bricks&Pieces, I've bought 12 :)

(they will probably get out of stock soon..)

New pieces like the LBG stud with hole are already not available anymore.. or maybe not available yet, I don't know.

Possibly, it would remove the dark line, but would add a little square behind the front slope, breaking it.

I also wish that the 4x4 wedge with a cut corner still existed, because it would have helped there, for a better shaping.

Bricks&Pieces also have black paint rollers which are becoming rare enough, but sadly not LBG ones anymore. I've used paint rollers in many MOCs, it's really a useful part.

They make great handles for minifigs to close cockpits:

I just went to the site to buy them now

Thanks :sweet:

I see what you mean about breaking the continuity of the slope—it just gave me the perception of looking kinda like lips, but that's just a trivial point.

The paint rollers are really handy indeed and that is an innovative use for handle bars. I have begun to use them for small tubing or hose detail, because other parts like the hose with tabbed ends are too problematic with their weak clutch power.

Thanks, and it's still evolving, I've changed tighs & feet very recently.

I'm also supposed to be building this display stand, but my orders take their time to arrive.

Think of it as the landspeeders roping the AT-AT's, only here it's man-sized. What's missing on the render is the cable that the little guy (yeah, wrong clothing - I did with what's in the LDD) is trying to circle the AT-ST with.

I chose Hoth for multiple reasons, first one is that it's easier & costs less, I didn't want an Endor scene that looks too bricky. Second is that a minifig is tiny in height, while on Endor the AT-ST's don't look that big, but do on Hoth, and midget Ewoks wouldn't have helped.

It's a bit hard to know where the size oddity comes from. It's not very clear whether they have the same height/leg height in the 2 movies. In SW Battlefront, they would appear to be half the height of an AT-AT, but not with the legs posed this way.

If a minifig is human-tall and chubby, then it's clearly out of scale, but if a minifig is human-thick and is a midget, then it's ok.

no, less gribling at the top of the thighs, as they were already too thick. Long legs are ok, for a Hoth diorama. With legs extended like here, they're supposed to be nearly half the height of an AT-AT, so it seems ok.

Awesome!!! *oh2* You rock, dude! Seeing that, I feel like a kid at Christmas... :excited:

Just built this model tonight (took all night) after a couple of weeks of bricklinking the parts and waiting (oh the waiting) - but wow, it's beautiful in person.

Definitely not the most robust, though - you're at the mercy of the clutch power in your Bionicle parts, for sure! I gave up counting the number of times it fell over and bits came off when I was trying to pose it and clumsily stop it from falling. Hamfisted fool that I am.:grin:

I suspect I may be building your display stand to give it a helping hand. Or at least defend it from mine!

I have it standing next to my UCS and 7657 (2007) and you know what, it gives the UCS a good run for its money from the accuracy and sheer awesomeness perspective. I swear I can see a blush of embarrassment on 7657's cheeks...

Amazing job, Anothergol.
