shmails Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Planet: Quantus III (H07) Tags: Octan, H07, Exploration, Space Vehicle ---------- Start Log ---------- Two weeks searching the entire planet for Awesomnium with no results, a broken landspeeder, case of Quantus Bird Flu, and just before I decide to leave this miserable place, I decide to take the new Deep Sea Exploration Sub out for a joy ride. I found a wonderful reef full of life and interesting sights, and just as I started to capture a few samples for the eggheads back on the Axle to examine, I come across it! The awesomnium is located in massive fissures in the sea floor. It may not be the easiest to extract, but the amounts here will make it worth the effort. I am taking video, collecting samples, will have a little lunch, then I am out of here! ---------- End Log ---------- Another adventure for Jacques LaRose as he explores the universe of Andromeda's Gates! More, larger photos here: https://www.flickr.c...157655629618938 Originally this was going to be a much larger scene with an observatory and much more going on, but I was sick most of the week and did not have much energy. I hope you guys like what I came up with. Enjoy! Quote
WickNole Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Oh. What can i say... Another awesome adventure from you! The idea for hair pieces is especially nice. Edited July 18, 2015 by WickNole Quote
Blackhawk STX Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Awesome, really. Great scenery, and cool sub! Quote
Garmadon Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Great build shmails, the sub is excellent, and the under-water plants are superb! The green flower stalks especially look better than I would have thought! Quote
mrcp6d Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 You've really developed a distinctive style so far for your Octan AG builds! The coral looks really good, but I'm not sold on the tan hair pieces. Quote
David FNJ Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Beautiful build! That sub is awesome. Its compact shape, its arms, and of course its cockpit are excellent! The seaweed really helps give this the underwater feel. Edited July 18, 2015 by David FNJ Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Excellent build shmails, I especially like the green stalks in the back, and the sub is also great! Quote
Kodan Black Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Fantastic underwater scene! Jealous of your sub too. Another incredible build. Quote
LittleJohn Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Fantastic build, shmails! The sub and reef are superb Quote
shmails Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Thanks so much everyone! I guess I am starting have a style, but I feel I really need to step up my story telling game. It may also be time to start having some Octan structures start to appear in some off these builds, we will see. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Gorgeous landscape, the plant life is especially impressive Sweet exploration sub too Quote
mccoyed Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 That's just some of the best scenery I've seen on Eurobricks. Amazing work. Quote
robuko Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Really nice scenery here. Are those custom leaves? They look great Quote
shmails Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Really nice scenery here. Are those custom leaves? They look great Yes, they are from AltBricks and come in a bunch of fun colors. Thanks! Thanks again everyone! Quote
Big Sal Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Beautiful, just beautiful! Great use of hair pieces for the plants, but my favourite part is the reeds - such a simple idea but it's so effective! The sub is great too, love those large hands! Quote
goatman461 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 fantastic as always. the seaweed looks really cool and seems like such an obvious part usage for strange alien plants. the sub is great too. the only think i would change is the visible holes on the front of the engines. maybe some white rounds or white lightsaber hilts would've been a good way to better integrate those engines into the rest of the sub. you also did a great job of integrating that dome so the hinges don't stand out awkwardly. NuckElBerg Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Wow, beautiful landscape (as always) shmails! Very creative use of regular plant shafts to create those tall seaweeds! The sub is excellent too, and fits right in. Beautiful. Quote
SpacerSteve Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 The overall build is great! I like how you used the different hair pieces for the reef. Quote
