Blackhawk STX Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Location: Vollfort Tags: Kawashita, Vollfort Blackhawk is really lost… Did he get shot down? Did he wander off the base on Vollfort? Or is it just a dream brought on by a late night consumption of a peanut butter, pickle, and avocado sandwich? Quite frankly, I don’t know any more than you do. If it is the latter, one has to wonder what other gastrointestinal effects the pickles and avocados will have (except the peanut butter. Everything goes with peanut butter. Except brussel sprouts. Nothing goes with brussel sprouts…). Build without the minifig: Inspiration, where have you gone? I had an idea earlier, but couldn’t start building until late, and the idea wasn’t working, so I was stuck. I really thought that I would have to do a minifig on a plate. But it came to me that if I was going to do that, I could spruce the plate up a bit, at least. So it wound up being my first attempt at an environment, using whatever I had. To my Kawashita teammates, my apologies. I hope to do better next week… Quote
SpacerSteve Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 The mushrooms are cool. I like how you arced them. Quote
mccoyed Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Very cool foliage. Blackhawk always looks like he's naked without any gear! Quote
shmails Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 That first photo is really nice. It is amazing some times how less is more, especially in an alien world build. The mushroooms look great, but those other trees and bendy things really make the build look other worldly. Also, if you had a beer with those late night sandwiches the dreams would not be so bad! LittleJohn Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Great alien foliage! I like how most of them are tilted Quote
Blackhawk STX Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 The mushrooms are cool. I like how you arced them. The arcing worked well, but it can be a pain to keep them together... Still, I'm glad it came out well! Thanks! It actually does look very alien! Nice job! Thank you! It seems to have come out better than I expected, which is always a good thing! Very cool foliage. Blackhawk always looks like he's naked without any gear! No kidding! I'll have to make sure he gets something cool to fly next week... That first photo is really nice. Also, if you had a beer with those late night sandwiches the dreams would not be so bad! So that's the secret! Good to know for future reference... Yeah, the hoses worked well. The other trees came about by looking at the octagonal ring pieces and wondering how I could use them. Guess there was still some inspiration to be found! Yeah, really nice alien foliage! Great alien foliage! I like how most of them are tilted Thank you, both of you! Much appreciated! Quote
NuckElBerg Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 As others have said, that first shot is really nice, it truly feels like Blackhawk explores an alien world (add the Exploration tag! )! Also, if this was your build when you were low on inspiration, well, then we truly have a lot to look forward to from you! Quote

aeralure Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Really nice first shot. Blackhawk really does look lost in an alienscape of some sort. The bendy hose things worked well, as did bending your brick-built fauna. Great job considering a lack of inspiration on your fighter. Quote
