Richpepperell Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) Been meaning to get round to this for a while - the famous discovery of Leia's message. As always, I've gone for more of the general feeling of the scene rather than screen-accutrate, but I'm fairly happy with it either way. I like to try an contain my MOCs to two 12x12 plates, which seems to be the perfect size here. I've taken some liberties - obviously there is no official Leia hologram, so the Emperor is standing in. Also, the speeder that can be seen off to the left is not the one seen on screen, but is a little nod to the speeder used in Episode 2, captured in lego form in the Tusken Encounter set. Critique welcomed! I don't know what the general consensus is to adding effects to photos, but I just thought this was a nice finishing touch... Edited July 27, 2015 by Richpepperell Quote
Fuppylodders Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 That last shot, without a doubt makes the photo look complete, even if it is edited in (quite well too!). Not entirely too sure on Lukes expressively happy face, but if thats what you have to work with then fair enough :) I like the overall look of it and the fact it is your own take on it, it guarantees something different. Nice job! Quote
klonetrropa Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Very cool, love the shape and angle of the thing! I was suspicious that Luke had no left arm but i spotted it finally. Quote
Gouniaf Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Using the official T-16 is a good idea. Your diorama is very accurate, I really like it, I don't see how to improve it. Maybe building the room around the T-16 and merging it to the base. Quote
monkeyjay2003 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 When I first read 12x12 plates, I thought there aren't any in lego. I lookee at the model amd saw those two things at the bottom. What are they and which sets do they come in? I've always needed some. Is that the skyhopper in the back? Neat. Quote

Richpepperell Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 I'd guess they part 52040 (link) but hopefully Richpepperell will be able to confirm That's them. I first got them in 7623 Indiana Jones Temple Escape and now try and pick them up whenever I see them - they're fantastic for dioramas. Quote
monkeyjay2003 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Perfect. I needed them for a model, Perfect for floating stairs. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 You model looks very good and the details are captured well.Only one way I will recommend to improve this model,is switch the 2014 Tatooine Luke head into 2013 Ewok Village or 2015 Death Star Final Duel version instead. The 2014 Luke head is too detailed and the lines on his face is totally an eyesore.
