Alcyone Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hello, I'm working on a new lego styled puzzle game and was wondering if you like the graphics or maybe have suggestions? I implemented hard shadows, but maybe soft shadows would be better? Here is the new Android version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alcyone.games.brick.unblock&hl=en There is also an IOS and Windows Phone version, but these are using older graphics and don't look as good as the new Android version. I'll update these soon: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/unblock-red-brick/id696242970?mt=8 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/games/unblock-brick-me-puzzle-free/9wzdncrd28b4 Thanks Quote
antp Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) I tested the WindowsPhone version, indeed shadows and contrast are maybe too "hard". I think the shadow is too "long" on the studs, that make them look too high. The use of gradient also make them too shiny and not flat enough (difficult to explain). Home & Reset buttons should be a little bigger, to look like 2x2 round tiles, instead of just being buttons on top of studs ;) edit: checking the screenshots of Android version, indeed that's already better, but I maintain my comment about the shadown on the studs: it is too big Edited July 28, 2015 by antp Quote
Alcyone Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Thanks for your tips . The long hard shadows give more depth to the game because of the orthographic projection, but indeed maybe softer shadows would make the shadows smaller. Quote
MundaneBob Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 That font, wow that's brave. Amazed you havent recieved a cease and desist from TLG's suits yet. Those fake reviews, crikey. Amazed Google haven't pulled it from Play store. Quote
