Mencot Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Keliim whispers to MortimerThou thought 'bout th't maybe Ervie ist th' thinkin' force b'hind th's all... She ist psyhcotic enough atleast?! We dunno whats she wouldst Do when she gets out? She said she won't help 's!
Mencot Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Calamity looks to Avina and Keliim for support. She starts to gather energy in the palm of her hand, perhaps it would be a quicker death than being buried in the rubble. "She trapped herself here, facing almost certain death, and you think she's smart enough to know where the bug would flee to next? Come on, Keliim." Calamity discharges her spell in an empty wall next to the heroes in frustration, she turns away, and mutters something in disgust. I actually think she know wh're Wally ist head'n but she won't help us 'nd what I knowst it ist not easy to force a Kobolt t' do somethin' it does n't wanna do! I habt start'd to feel that she be or ist more dangrous than Wally to keep around... Keliim looks at the bomb... bombs, then he speaks up. "Art we actually votin' here what t' do Here... If two people choose not to do anythin' to help 'nd move to the elevator, then the thr' o' us won't get Ervie out of th're." The big man sigh "As I said, I won´t die f'r her... We n'd t' get out of here! With h'r or without!"
CMP Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 "I... um... well, I agree we need to capture Wally, but, um, the kobold may be helpful in finding him again. "Would she really leave herself in here if it was so easy for us to find him again??" Avina sighs heavily. "He knows he can't kill you now, would he really stick around in Eubric now that his army is dismantled? If he gets away now, there's no way we'll find him again, that much I can tell you." I've got the last pictures to take/I'm going to be reasonably busy today, so you've got 24 hours to change your answer if you wish.
Mencot Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) OoC: So what actually makes the decision final, that we break her out? It is still 3 vs 2, this isn´t a democracy, majority wins. What I would like to see here is, Calamity and Avina hold their head and walk to the elevator, and state "You coming or not!" Because 5 is needed to break her out and now we don´t have that... and actually Keliim isn´t really sure it is worth it to break her out, especially when Ervie doesn´t have any interest in helping the heroes out. Edited October 26, 2015 by Mencot
Emjajoas Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 OoC: Generally in quests where a big decision is made, majority rules if characters can't come to a decision 100%. In this case, 3 have "voted" to let Ervie out, and 2 have "voted" to go get Wally. I'd imagine it means we're going to be busting Ervie out.
CMP Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Avina doesn't have a vote. You can't split up the party at this point, but I trust you all to remain in a group regardless. So it's 3-to-1 right now in Ervie's favor.

Yes I know, but I feel(hoped) this would had been different. Because yes, we can´t split up, if 2 go up the elevator, 3 will blow up or run fast. And I/we know that "technincally" Avina doesn´t "vote" but as roleplay I count her "vote" But guess we will be breaking Ervie out then, hopefuly it does not mean we fail the quest.
Scubacarrot Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) I imagine Avina would have the tie breaker vote if Keliim decides to leave. Calamity will of course submit to majority rule. Edited October 26, 2015 by Scubacarrot
Mencot Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Keliim points at Ervie as he speaks to her.Thou knowst that, thou art just exchange one prison for an other! If thou willst not help 's find thy friend, I swear thou willst spend th' rest o' th' life in a rott'n cell!
CMP Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 "Avina, stand down. Let's get her out. Heroes, help me out. Ervie..." "Creep ur not, we can´t lit 'er die..." Keliim shakes his head and continues to try to break her free "I... um... well, I agree we need to capture Wally, but, um, the kobold may be helpful in finding him again. I, um.... we should... um... we should get Ervie out." Avina glares at the party, and opens her mouth to retort something to them. But after a moment's hesitation, she simply stops, as if slowly realizing the futility of her argument. She silently pulls her mask back on and helps the party hammer blows against the chamber. It takes nearly a minute, but finally the sealed glass gives way, shattering. Ervie climbs out with only a few cuts, but Avina grabs her arm - quite roughly. "There. Now we go." With little reason to stay, the party, with their charge in tow, rushed into the elevator. Avina pulled on the level inside, remaining deathly quiet as the contraption chugged upward, dangerously slowly. At last, they reach the top, and the door slides open, revealing.... Woodland. It's quiet late, evidently the party has spent quite some time in their hunt for the Eubric Knight. A low, thrumming buzz assaults their ears, however, like an enormous insect. Slowly, their eyes move uwpard. "...Ervie." There's an almost pained edge to the inventory's voice. "...You are very, very lucky." "It was this, or your crusade ends." "I'm doing this so that THEY learn a lesson, it's not worth sacrificing-..." he trails off, weapons still primed and facing the heroes. Avina tenses. "...keep clinging to hollow morals, heroes. It won't save you in the end - I'll be back for you Ervie, and I swear that when I do, I'll have a more permanent solution, for Heroica, and those it would call allies." The flier swivels in midair, its propeller blades whirring as the ether cores mounted on its side glow, and before they know it, the Eubric Knight has flown off into the darkness. Silence falls, for a moment, then the sound of an earth-rumbling boom echoes through the earth. The ground tremors for a second, then goes still. Ervie grunts as Avina reflexively twists her arm. "...Some victory, heroes," she grumbles through gritted teeth. "One idiot kobold lives, and now Heroica has an enemy actively researching ways to kill you!" The alchemist sighs heavily, rubbing her forehead with one hand. "Here I was hoping for a practical alliance, and it turns out you're a guild of...naive idealists, thinking you can solve everyone's problems without ever getting your hands dirty. And you're willing to let your enemies use it against you!! What's- How do you-" Avina slowed down after a few seconds, unclenching her fists. She pushed Ervie towards the party, turning away from them. The kobold stares up at the heroes. "...so, something tells me Lady Cultist isn't in charge." Ervie cracks her knuckles. "Well...you know where my loyalty lies. I don't know where Wally's gotten off to. I do know what comes next...uh, generally speaking...what're you gonna do with me?"
Mencot Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Ooc:Somehow seems I can't access EB from my computer but on mobile it works fine. Oh well will try to make some kind of comment. When They get out, Keliim can see Wally is about to take of. He prepares to attack but considers it foolish because of the weapons pointed at him. So he just watches as Wally flies off. But he shouts after him: We'll be waitin for thy return! He turns to Ervie and grabs her and says, I gonna keep my promise, 'nly thing thou gonna see is the grey damp walls of a prison cell. We'll hope Wally willst be back for thee... Edited October 28, 2015 by Mencot
Scubacarrot Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 The mage sighs at all the dust on her and the few cuts in her robe the 'rescue' had gotten her. Calamity wonders if the kobold meant her, or Avina with 'Lady Cultist'. Bitterly she decides it doesn't matter, because it's true for both of them. "And where will you find this grey damp prison, Keliim? We're done. Wally, the Eubric Knight has left Eubric on his stupid flying thing, and we've only delayed the problem. No wonder everyone around here hates Heroica, you can't make up your mind on what you want to do, finish the job, be a merc, do 'good'. Whatever that means. In the end of the day, all you people do is what makes you feel good, right then and there. You are like big armoured children with stupid magical swords. No plans, no goals, no hearts." Calamity gives Ervie a weary look. "I know what I think matters so little, but I say we just let her go. Maybe she distracts Wally long enough so that the next people can have an easier time with the shit."
Mencot Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) The big man looks at Ervie "I wouldst guess every town hast a hellhole for creep...let th' townwatch handle her." he turns to Calamity "This trail of thine down this dark path willst lead nowhere, I wouldst not be th' first person to speak to others 'bout not habt any path in life. I knowst what it is to serve a demon, walk on the path of darkness and evil. It didn´t bring me any good, neither do i knowst wíllst this but doin' good, in th' end i like to think it willst pay of... if it doesn´t, in th' end at atleast... Na nevermind, thy be too naive to understand... Keliim turns away, thinking, he was a bit dissapointed at her reaction but he didn't judge her. He had been a bit like her when he willingly choose to serve the dark god, Karain. Everybody has to make their own choices in life, to see if it is a good or a bad one. He started looking for the path to get out of there and says to Avina,"We done?!" Edited October 28, 2015 by Mencot
Emjajoas Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 "I agree with Calamity," Mortimer mutters quietly, unable to respond to her assessment. "We let her go." He sighs heavily, then turns to Ervie, his eyes downcast. "Did you have faith in us?"
Kintobor Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 "At this rate, I, um, personally don't really care what happens to Ervie. I, um, merely want to be out of the company of Calamity. She can go run back to Wally, but I think she'd be wise to realize that doing so would mean death for her." Annienal states to Ervie, being diplomatic. "There's a difference between being merciful and being foolish, and I want to believe that saving your life will give you a second chance. If Wally was right in his ideologies, we'd of left you behind to die, and Wally would be dead. Wally is leading himself down a road to ruin, and you should not follow him. Should I see you with Wally again, I will not show you mercy. Do I make myself clear, Ervie?" Annienal asks, trying her hardest to be stern, although questioning her ability.
Mencot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 "I agree with Calamity," Mortimer mutters quietly, unable to respond to her assessment. "We let her go." "Really, Whoa what a surprise!" Keliim says sarcastically, "Maybe I wast a wee harsh when sayin' "she willst spend th' rest of h'r life in prison but I wast speakin moo'r hyperbolically wh'n I said it! So thou mean we shall just let h'r go, no punishment whatsoever?" he shakes his head and sighs "I believe in second chances, I habt gotten a few of those myself in my life... But not without a cost, thou learn an' pay for thy mistakes." "Don´t thee all think she hast as much to do with all this as Wally, as least she knew what he wast up to an' support'd his cause!"
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 "I, um, merely want to be out of the company of Calamity." "That feeling is entirely mutual."
Mencot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 When Keliim sees non of them have any answer to his question, he just shakes his head. "Whit a bunch ay hypocrites! Ye caa yerself a hero, anythin'?" He hits his fingers on Mortimer´s chest piece, pointing at him for a reaction. "Who art thou, What dae thou stain for?" The big man just steps away, grimacing and shaking his head. "I habt hud it, wi' this all... What we waitin' for!" He makes a gesture with his hand to Ervie, "Jist go, get out ay here!"
Kintobor Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Annienal was about to say something until Kellim begins to get aggressive. She stops herself and attempts to cover her face with a visor, trying to avoid attention.
Mencot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The big man sees the Annie hitting down her visor, hiding her trueself again. " An' thou, Tak' of 'at bludy helmet. Thou don´t need to hide, th' threat ist over. Thou habt shown what thy can do on th' battlefiel', thou don´t habt to hid' behin' no helmet... No' show what thou really stan' for, Fo' god sake, thou habt been wearin' that helmet th' whole quest, thou bludy hel hadt th't thin' on whil' we were at the Hall. Take it of an' speak thee mind..." Keliim lets out a big sigh, annoyed, fustrated, disappointed. The whole quest feels like a big failure... it was really.
Emjajoas Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Mortimer's eye narrows, a scowl tugging at his lips. "Ervie supported her friend, supported a cause she believed in. I see no cause for punishment. What would it solve? They're both misguided, but it seems we all are." He bites down, grinding his teeth, and huffs. "We're a bloody mess. Let's settle down. What's done is done."
Mencot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Keliim sighs, again and rubs his forehead in fustration. "Yea, whats dain ist dain!" He looks at Annie, Mortimer, Calamity and nods. "Nobody ist perfect, may this quest lead us to th' path we all art takin'." Edited October 29, 2015 by Mencot

I've already, um, stated my, um.... opinion earlier, so, um... please don't shout..." He looks at her or tries but she does a good job staying behind Mortimer, "Shoutin', me?! I am not shoutin', this be just th' way I talk. Thy be doin' it again, now thou hide behind anothers back, what kind o' Knight art thou! He goes over to a fallen tree and sits down, takes of his hat and looks at it, "Wolfgang..." he spits on the ground and puts the hat in his bag and looks up at the star lit sky. He can hear a faint sound of a lone wolf howling in the distance, he smiles and turns his gaze at Avina. "So to repeat me question, What now?"

"Don´t thee all think she hast as much to do with all this as Wally, as least she knew what he wast up to an' support'd his cause!" "I've been close with him since before all this. Since, you know...before the Eubric Knight. I saw what you people did to U'Reeka and the shades. Whether I thought you had it coming or not, I can sure as hell see why Wally did. It felt right. It still kinda does." "At this rate, I, um, personally don't really care what happens to Ervie. I, um, merely want to be out of the company of Calamity. He's pretty resourceful, too...wouldn't be surprised if he did find a way to start taking you out. But maybe you're not all...." Ervie trailed off, then shrugged again, with a bit of a chuckle. "Heh, this is what happens when he's not around, no sense of dedication...I do hope I see him again." She turns to leave the area, but then pulls something off of her arm and tosses it back to the party. "Here. Guess I won't really be needing it." And with that, the kobold vanished into the slowly brightening woods. He started looking for the path to get out of there and says to Avina,"We done?!" Avina turned back around to face the party, her voice low and quiet, and even having lost its disapproving bite. "Yes. We're done." Perhaps to some heroes' surprise, she reached into her cloak, pulling out a sealed package, and sliced it open, handing a glowing red vial to each hero. THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL!..? Crimson Haze - (Causes a weapon to deal the poisoned by 7 and cursed effects permanently) "My mission is complete, and our temporary collaboration dissolved. You can return to Eubric whenever you wish." She explained hollowly, leaning back against a tree, looking up silently into the sky as the sun slowly eked into view. Rays of sunlight caught her mask and cast a shadow on the slightly smoking, dented exit hatch of the Eubric Knight's hideout. Whether it was to anyone's liking or not, the Eubric Knight was ended, even if the heroes had a new threat to look forward to in the future. They had paid a price to save one life, and whether that cost was ultimately worth it in the end was up to those who paid it.
