Annienal coughs at the dropping of the smoke bomb and attempts to blow the smoke away with her Sapphire, seemingly blowing it away with her breath.

"*cough cough* Well, um, we could burn the door down? Although perhaps we should have someone ready with water just incase..."

Annienal spends one ether to whisk away all the smoke on a gust of wind.

"Seems risky and it'd probably take a while, too..."

"How big art those windows, couldst one of thy gals get up on my shoulders, an' get through or see inside! Whats thy others think?"

"Could work, but how would those of you covered in armor get in? Pulling you in isn't an option."

"Hey." Calamity has her hands raised, dark energy swirling around her slowly moving fingers. "You might want to stand back just a bit." She warns, as she unleashes her spellcasting powers aimed at the wall next to the door.

Calamity examines the wall and determines that it'd take at least ten ether to gather up enough force to blast it open, not to mention darkness magic wasn't exactly suitable for the task.

Keliim still looking at the windows and pondering about the ladies weight and acrobatic abilities. "Hmm, maybe thou Avina or Calamity wouldst be suitable to climb... Annie, wouldst be too hard to balance withst her armor on!"

"I think Avina said it best when there's not really a lot you can do with me and Mortimer, seeing how you can't lift us in this armour. Even then... I kind of don't want to leave anything of mine in the street... if that's understandable." Annienal comments. She thinks for a moment before coming to a conclusion.

"If we can't get inside, could we flush him out of the building? Like with a smoke bomb, or a distraction of some sorts?"

"I whast thinkin' that, when thy get in, thy wouldst open the door from the inside!"

"You think a fire bomb'd do the trick, then?" Mortimer questions, growing nervous.

"Aye somehow we needst to get inside... or him outside andst probably fast. So that he doesn´t escape like a rat he ist!"

"He may have other escape routes, smoking him out may backfire," Mortimer thinks, tapping his chin. "If a bomb won't blow it open, we may have to have some go through the windows and open the door from the inside. That might be a better idea if we want to avoid collateral..."

"Aye, we be pretty much in the dark here 'bout knowin' whats will happen! But movin' fast is maybe a must." So we habt two options, blow the door or climb and open.He turns to the ladies,

"If not the door break from the bomb, we shouldst maybe, try the windows, Calamity or Avina, get up then on my shoulders andst climb to try reach the windows and get inside andst open up!" It ist up to thou Em to decide, thou tha' boss.

"You think a fire bomb'd do the trick, then?" Mortimer questions, growing nervous.

Avina examines one of Mortimer's explosives.

"We'd need a few of them. Five should do the trick.

"I'm not certain that's wise. He's got himself in a corner, if we flush him out that just gives him a good chance to escape. We have him where we want him, it's just a matter of moving in to finish the job." Avina pauses, and hastily amends herself. "...metaphorically speaking. Of course."

"Another possibility. Whichever you route you choose is of no consequence to me, but we must be swift, he could be int here preparing for us right now."

Mortimer sighs, backing up against the wall and bracing himself. He cups his hands and lowers them, ready for someone to climb on. "Annienal, on me. Avina, Keliim, Calamity-- we'll be lifting you through the windows. You three, without armour, should be light enough. Open the door for Annie and I as soon as you get in there, yeah? Let's go."

OoC: That is good, but there is a small roleplaying question here. I am actually playing, "in like RP-style." Keliim to be 6.11 tall, big man. If we would talk weight for someone like that he would be over 250 pounds. I am IRL, 6.6 and weight 210 pounds.

Ofcourse this is just a roleplaying aspect and has nothing to do with the quest in general but even so. I think only Avina and Calamity should be lifted up... or is Em a really big weightlifter :sweet:

Keliim looks at Em, frowns and asks a bit confused, pointing at his chest, "Thou serious, thou gonna lift Me. So I get to the window... hmm I be not a good climber!" He turns to Avina, "Get up on my shoulders, I willst lift thou there."

"Then Calamity and Avina will go through the window to open the door. We'll all be able to go through if Annienal can make something like a ladder with her Emerald, though."

Posted (edited)

"Annie, you have an Emerald, do you think you could fashion a temporary ladder of sorts?"

"Then Calamity and Avina will go through the window to open the door. We'll all be able to go through if Annienal can make something like a ladder with her Emerald, though."

"Um, Kellim, before we try lifting people up, let me at least try and make something come we can climb up." Annienal attempts to make a potential stalk or tree grow out of the ground using her Emerald, downing a tonic if necessary.

Annienal spends five ether to coax a large plant stalk out of the ground through the cobblestones and up to the window.

The big man looks at the plant that suddenly did grow from the ground and backs away a bit when it hits out through the ground,

"Whoa! Really good job."

Annienal nearly trips over her own feet as she backs away from the plant as it bursts out of the ground and spirals upward.

"Whoa! Really good job."

"Um... well... it wasn't much, really..." Annienal replies, grinning sheepishly.

Annienal grabs a hold of the plant and begins to climb as she makes her way towards the window.

"Yes....a fine job indeed..." Avina failed to completely hide the disapproval in her voice as the magical weed tore its way through the ground. "I have this Cloud of Celerity prepared if you think it's prudent to use that."

Keliim drinks a mead and also starts to climb.

"Aw, h'w I hate clim'n!" he sights to himself but he says with a smile to the remaining two woman, "Thy all gals go first, I willst cover thee backs."

Keliim just laughs and shakes his head at Calamity's "look"

"Whats do thou think? I been just watchin' thy back, like in "back-up"

Avina casually flung the Cloud of Celerity against the ground, shattering the gaseous potion and the vapors seeping out to hasten the party, then following the heroes up the vine.

It wasn't a long climb, and Annienal easily popped open the clasp on the window and pulled herself inside as the rest of the party also made their way inside. The darkness was the primary defining factor of the hallway, futuristic but dim lights hanging overhead, most doors marked with some variety of safety warning. One of them (marked with an auditory hazard sign) was cracked open, an ethereal yellow glow emanating from within. Avina climbed in through the window and fell silent, moving past the rest of the heroes to push open the door.

A lab table and its contents had been thrown down just in front of the entrance - a pathetic attempt to block the door - , but the eye was drawn mostly towards the odd magical barrier standing between the party and a feverishly-working Chalvo.

"Erith, there's nowhere left to run. I would advise an immediate surrender and cooperation during your questioning- other- otherwise- turn around, you old bastard!"

But Chalvo did no such thing, and did not even give any indication he'd even heard the party enter room.
