November 7, 20159 yr Sorry for posting this in this thread if it's the wrong place. I'd love to pick up Lego 8043 online but I'm a bit reluctant to get it if the rumoured Volvo EW160E is coming out next year. Anyone want to theorise, based on the informed speculation, if the upcoming Volvo will have a comparable feature set, RC functions etc or do the experts here think 8043 will still be the stand out flagship product? Since it came out in 2013, does Lego have form in releasing comparable and / or better products in a 2-3 year time-frame? In the last published rumors, they confirmed that the BuWeEx and UIPC were the biggest sets. So you can buy the 8043 because the Volvo isn't going to be bigger.
November 7, 20159 yr Sorry if this was already posted. Not a big Technic fan so not up to date! 42050 Drag Racer
November 7, 20159 yr No, we havent seen such sharp pictures before! I hope there are more where that came from.
November 7, 20159 yr Wow, that is the best pic we've seen so far of the dragster, and from the looks of it those blue panels are a new mold. Im not entirely sure, but the color also looks different then the bright blue used on 42022 or 42036, but that might be the color balance of the picture (hard to judge with mainly black/gray parts) From the looks of it ill be giving it a pass though, i was hoping for the body to look like a good looking car, but its all rather generic and boxy, and im not a big fan of the colors either. I do hope this means tumbler tires will get cheaper though, id love to pick up four of those for my 42000
November 7, 20159 yr Sorry if this was already posted. Not a big Technic fan so not up to date! 42050 Drag Racer *snip* Best picture yet. I think that the front would look better if the 5L beam under the headlights was blue (do those pieces come in blue BTW?). Anyways, I like it! Edited November 7, 20159 yr by Kaanere
November 7, 20159 yr Author I like it a lot, not only for tumbler tires but overall looks very good.Reminds me tuning technic cars in racers theme.I only hope that can be purchaseable before christmas day, probably not ...
November 7, 20159 yr Ty for that pic of the dragster thats a nice find! (feel free to post others as well if you find) but it will probably take more time to cut out and mount these 40-50 stickers than building the model itself... I was hoping to see some 18945 panels but in BLACK (for a future project) but not yet as it seems... maybe BWE will have some. Edited November 7, 20159 yr by GoldVillage
November 7, 20159 yr ...from the looks of it those blue panels are a new moldMold is not new, it is already available in other colours. From the picture it looks like that "blue" is other than Medium Blue, but I hope it will be the same.
November 7, 20159 yr Sorry if this was already posted. Not a big Technic fan so not up to date! 42050 Drag Racer Where did you find this picture,it is really cool ,can you post pictures of the other models please? Edited November 7, 20159 yr by Blakbird
November 7, 20159 yr Sorry llko, your just quoting? or trying to say something? It was question for you :)
November 7, 20159 yr Mold is not new, it is already available in other colours. From the picture it looks like that "blue" is other than Medium Blue, but I hope it will be the same. Indeed it is, i was only familiar with the version with two single holes at the leading edge rather then the 2x3 holes, thanks for correcting!
November 7, 20159 yr Well this looks ugly - just my opinion - the only good thing about this set are the tumbler tires it seems. Back the the 'Ultimate IP Car' - at a price point of EUR 450 this set has to be massive, both in size and piece count. I had a thought, maybe a crazy one but surely a great one. What if LEGO did a Technic/Creator Expert crossover with this ultimate IP car? The chassis, including engine, suspension, steering, RC functions, etc. is the Technic part, bodywork and accurate looks of the car are the Creator Expert section (see Ferrari F40, Mini Cooper, T1 Camper Van). I think that would be amazing, who agrees?
November 7, 20159 yr I would think it will open new group of people who like such crossover and at the same time whose who is interested in Technic or Creator Expert, might be disappointed.
November 7, 20159 yr Am I the only one really not happy with this years IP car price?! I Know it is probably a really nice set but 450 EUR! In my opinion that is ridiculous.
November 7, 20159 yr If Lego is actually getting to be $500 or $700 for a brand new set (I understand rare sets on eBay), then the set are getting to be too big. $700 for a Lego is a bituch don't you think??
November 7, 20159 yr Maybe the Ultimate Car is similar to the 8448: we can build different toppings for the same chassis. Edited November 7, 20159 yr by nguyengiangoc

All of this price stuff is guessing based on a rumour and previous exchange rates, weve heard $300 for quite a while as well, which IMHO sounds a bit more believable If its a cool car, sure ill pay €300 for it, but €500? no way, doesnt matter how awesome it is, that is well outside of acceptable budget for Lego for me.
November 7, 20159 yr If its a cool car, sure ill pay €300 for it, but €500? no way, doesnt matter how awesome it is, that is well outside of acceptable budget for Lego for me. 300 is my limit. I got the 42030 loader at 250, which was the most expensive I'm gone so far. Personally I'm not into the super cars, I want to see the new construction equipment
November 7, 20159 yr The IP car is not for me, give me the Claas for €300,- with al functions working rc and monsterly big tires and I will pre order that thing.
November 7, 20159 yr I'm interested in what the 'B' models will be, if we are going to get UCS type sets at the prices above then surely the 'B' model has got to have some sort of interest factor to it as well, or will they at this price stop doing a 'B' model?
November 7, 20159 yr Author Well this looks ugly - just my opinion - the only good thing about this set are the tumbler tires it seems. Back the the 'Ultimate IP Car' - at a price point of EUR 450 .... Dont make rumours without proof, price is in NZD dollars is a bit high that regular euro price. When they talk about 499 nzd european price its only 220€ for set same as as with 699 NZD, but now Im not sure with this exchange but rumoured price from reliable source is 300€ not 450€...Nobody will buy set with price 450€ also this is TLC limit for prices.
November 7, 20159 yr But I can remember when the UCS Millenium Falcon was 600 € in 2007. Now that is out of the limit...
