Babaloveslego55 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Thanks to your idea, I built the steering like this: It is a little loose though. BTW I don't think it will has an auto center mechanism, since it's a manual set after all. that's a cool way of doing it I didn't think of that Quote
Samer Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I was thinking of getting a 9396, but the information about the upcoming copter made me change my mind. At first I intended to save my budget for the Xerion, Volvo, BWE, but it seems I'd have to cut my spending further. Sometimes I hate Lego for knowing how to make me spend more money. And I can't seem to imagine how can it be 80cm long?! That's even longer than the 42043 B model with trailer!! Same :-) I've made it heres a video: Nice work! Quote
Ondra Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Wheelie function in dragster...Hm, I dont think it will be something really functional as I think . Quote
Richard Dower Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 hoping the dragster uses the power puller tyres....but more likely those tumbler tyres. Quote
N-4K0 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I've heard the Power Puller tires are too heavy to be of good use, but it would be nice if TLG redesigned them and released them again. I've never had the Power Puller set, but I would sure like to see a return of the tires. Quote

Zerobricks Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Problem with Power Puller wheels is that they are quite non-standard. They are made of softer rubber than usual bigger Lego tyres, are very heavy and hard to work with unless you use hub parts. I would greet bigger wheels, but I think we wont get any soft rubber above the size 81mm. Quote

Paul Boratko Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Interesting that I started trying to build the race kart last night too. So far I've got this: Having not figured out the steering mechanism, the rear part of the car is hard to build too. I know this isn't built correctly as it is impossible to see what is behind the seat, but this could be the principle behind the 2 speed gearbox.. Also, one of the rear wheels on the Lego model might be a dummy wheel instead of a straight axle.. Forward would be 1st Gear and backwards would be 2nd Gear.. Edit: The short video in the link has sound and is better quality than the gif here... The piston is moving so fast in 1st Gear that the gif frames cannot show it properly.. There is what looks to be a portion of a link of some kind on the opposite side of the seat.. Edited October 19, 2015 by Paul Boratko Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Good work Paul. I also secretly hope Lego came up with a new clutch gear, seeing we now have 2 models with gearboxes and who knows what the IP car may have... Quote

I also secretly hope Lego came up with a new clutch gear, seeing we now have 2 models with gearboxes and who knows what the IP car may have... This is what I am hoping for (I know, what a shocker!), but after never having a single set in the 1H with a gearbox we now get two in one year. I am thinking/hoping that the reason is because once TLG release a new part, they want to use it in more than one set. Also hoping the new parts of the Arocs make an appearance in the 2H as well. Saberwing40k Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Howdy folks, I decided to do some stuff in regards to the 42052 B model. Lego 42052 rotors by Saberwing007, on Flickr I managed to do a representation of what two tandem rotors with the blades from 9396 would look like, and how big they would be. As can be seen, there is significant overlap with the blades, but that would be correct for a Chinnook, as seen in this illustration: But, seeing this only raises a lot of questions. a coaxial helicopter is rather stubby in relation to others, but I could see this being done with a model 50cm long, which by coincidence would work for the two rotor version as well. Just, give us the pictures already. Quote

higgins91 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 one is connected to an axle going through the mini turntable. this system may be very fragile and not very stable. probably great turntable and a little above? Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 The mini turntable doesn't fit inside the big turntable. Quote
