Looking at the 42049 set, I doubt it. It seems too small.

The hauler had only 575 pieces. I would agree with you because of the picture of 42049, I can't see a place for the battery to hide. But again the picture may not be final.

I don't think you should post the confidential pics directly in this forum, pretty sure there are rules against that..

That being said, looks like we'll get new panels in Light Blue at least. None of the models look too good in my opinion, if I had to buy one of them, I think it'd be the dragster.. Front looks horrible, but the detailing of the engine seems to be quite good, and I want me some Tumbler tyres :classic:

Panelling on the helicopter is extremely smooth. Don't think I've seen an official model with so few holes in it before, but the helicopter itself looks rather bulky, and definitely not based off any one real life counterpart

Guys...

You did a great work by building this replica - can you try to add P.F. as it may have done Lego? Try at least :)

Thank you in advance, regards

I like the 2012 copter way more.

What I notice is less beams in the sets. The body is mostly panels, which is less useful for one's parts inventory. Nevertheless, I like the rescue truck, its definitely new thing in Technic. On my buy list.

What I see:

The dragster:

Tumbler's wheels

More medium blue panels

Lots of room behind spoiler- probably for the motor and battery box to act as counterweight for wheelie action.

Fire truck:

New hose???

Lots of yellow 3M axles

Rear wheels seem to steer too

New panels used as seats

Helicopter:

Nice use of hubs with 6 holes on top rotor

Rear wheels seem to hang on 4L axles with stop?

Power functions! - Probably motorized winch, landing gear, rear cargo doors middle cargo doors and rotors

Bear in mind these opinions are entirely based on the angle(s) we see in those pictures, but in the absence of anything else to go off for the bigger sets I'll take what I can get.

The heavy lift helicopter looks really good to my eyes, even in the rather drab white/orange (+ DBG stripe) combination. It has some of the best panelling I've ever seen in an official set.

On the other hand the drag racer doesn't do it for me at all, but with two Tumbler tyres confirmed I'm looking forward to their prices dropping sharply on Bricklink.

The airport fire truck really does look like a miniature version of Lucio Switch's monster!

Interesting: Google translation of the same post of the pics:

Car dragster 42050:

New blue parts, different from the last and blue hot rod we know (in Technic). Design inspired by Mad Max but very Americanized (= disgusting to perfection), a prominent turbocharged V8. Set powerfunctionisable, perhaps to advance it. Tumbler wheels at the rear of 42024 wheels in front.

Airport fire truck 42051:

Red, 3 axles, well finished. White seats with new panels like the bumper of the mining machine. Axle front and rear direction and a dummy engine can speculate driven by the third axle. Powerfunctionalisable set for the rotation of the lance and the deployment thereof (2 joints).

Gah, looks like Medium Azur. I'll most likely buy two for the huge fat tyres though.
