I hope you're right and that there is a wheel. That would be much better, but the box image doesn't seem to bode well for that.

Having a wheel would render the manual knob superfluous, but I am not sure either. I have sent the set to Mostlytechnic for a review, so I really don't know.

We will find out soon

Im interested in wheelie function in dragster, this will be probably made with mechanism or wheel in center as I suspect.

For that, my friend, you will have to wait till the 1st of December

Check the pic here: http://brickset.com/sets/42045-1/Hydroplane-Racer

There is one of those half thickness wheels visible behind the blue seat, which seems to be just one on that axle (there isnt a second wheel visible through the gap between the sidepanel and liftarm), but we can see another one of those half-thick yellow axle ring three holes further down, so there might be some mechanism in there we dont know about yet. The height of that potential axle is also exactly right to connect with the engine crank at a perpendicular angle.

Either way, we'll know in ~11 days, but i would be really surprised if it ends up being "turn the knob to crank the engine" with just two gears in the set

I hope you make video of this function  .

I probably will :sweet:

Some reviews might be a bit shorter than usual, but I will definitely include some videos.

Anyone else disappointed in the hydroplane's 'feature'?

Turning a knob to roll the engine cylinders? That's weak, even for a $20 set.

More likely; turning the propeller to roll the engine cylinders. And it seems to be a wheel inside which is most likely hooked up to the engine, so propeller and engine will work when playing with it.

Yes, that "knob" is definitely the propeller, not some weird HOG, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't intended to be turning manually :).

And from the pictures of A and B model it is pretty much clear it has wheels underneath.

I like Jim's reviews, specially the pictures...  they are so good quality and well taken!!!! Can't wait really! Few days left!

Also, looking back at the sets now, I start to like some of them, specially becuase they are a good source of white panels!!

Thanks. Always nice to hear. Sariel has bought the same Camera, so you guys will be spoiled from now on

Most of the sets contain more than a few interesting panels

2 additional tyres for the Getaway Racer B model? Honestly it looks better than the main model. I never thought I'd say that about a Technic 2in1 set ever!

Can anyone tell Ondra to update the B model images in the first post

There will be a lot images if I put also pictures of b models, I put link to brickset instead.

The hydro model B looks to me more of a thing than A. The jet's B is very cool.

and I hope they are not sending Sariel only the revealed sets.

I dont know, i really dislike the hydro B, it really has that B-model look in terms of "what the **** do i do with these pieces now?" vibe.

I like the Jet B model, but overall im a bit disappointed that the Jet doesnt feature any cogs etc.. it is just a static model with foldable landing gear, compared to the twin-router and cherry picker of previous years it is really odd to miss a few cogs etc..

It looks awesome though, nice model, and killer part pack

Yes... me too... I'm curious if Jim and Pavel (Sariel) will have enough time to post all reviews on Dec 1st...

I say it all the time... very interesting sets as piece sources... but they look good too... so they maybe will be also built and survive few days... :D

Max...

It's a combination of the getaway racer and the police car.

So it's a new TLG strategy or has this happen already? I mean combining 2 sets....

Seems to work well as people are "forced" to buy both....this means extra $$$$$$$$
