Hi - first post here. I apologize if I'm asking in the wrong place or am otherwise posting inappropriately.

In the Precious Crystal Mine set, there's a small grey rodent/kitten creature. Does anyone know what this animal is and what its name is?

We don't have a name for it yet, but it uses the same mold as the hamsters from this year's Lego Friends sets.

What a quick response! That explains why I haven't been able to find a name. Thanks kindly!

I'm guessing the creature is suppose to be a mole or maybe a vole.

I thought it was supposed to be a mouse, but a mole in the mines makes much more sense (if you're using video game logic :P) I now wish it had a tiny miner helmet :D

It could have had one too! Since the hamster have a tiny hole on their head made for minidoll hats/bows.

Well, they could have maybe made one. But there's no current mold that could be used to attach an existing helmet like that to that connection point.

It was more of a humorous contemplation. There's likely zero chance of miniature helmet mold to be made as there wouldn't be any use for the regular minidolls. If we somehow ended up with minidoll scale sized dwarfs in Elvendale they'd likely have regular helmets (if any) anyways.

A hamster with a dwarf helmet?? Brilliant! I guess the closest you can get is with that one helmet from Heroica that we sadly have never seen in another set: http://brickset.com/parts/4624991

This one was more what I envisioned, but your helmet would look hilariously perfect on the cave hamsters/moles!

Not yet, as far as I've seen. I've been checking Brickset.com often, and so far, there are new pictures for the summer sets for Nexo Knights, some of the STAR WARS sets, and a couple of other sets ---- but not for the summer batch of Lego Elves yet.

I don't understand why they're marked as confidential, they look pretty official to me..

ALL confidential pics are official. But just because the pics are high quality doesn't mean that they're necessarily completely finalized, or that they're meant to be circulated at this point in time. Not that I'm complaining! Even though these pics don't necessarily show much more detail than we saw on the actual physical sets at Toy Fair, it's nice to see them in well-presented, well-lit, and well-posed product shots.

One things these pics do offer is a better look at the mouse in the Precious Crystal Mine set. He looks great! And he seems to also appear in the Queen Dragon' Rescue set, though it's possible that they accidentally threw him in when taking the product shots (stranger things have happened, especially with pics that are still marked preliminary).

It's still a shame that Farran isn't getting a hood and cloak like the others. It's possible that I could make a custom cloak and hood by tracing the cloak shape and repainting one of the hoods... I'll have to look into that, I suppose.

Lordofdragonss has a theory that hooded Farran will pop up attached to an encyclopedia, possibly near september sińce that's when they've been published in the past. It's pure speculation but personally, I'm a believer :)

While that could be amazing, I worry that we wouldn't get Farran in that sort of encyclopedia for the same sorts of reasons that we haven't gotten one in the sets. Farran may be a main character but he's also a male character in a theme aimed primarily at girls. As such, it would not surprise me if Lego and DK would consider a female character like Emily or one of the other elves to be a bigger draw for that sort of book.

I mean, that's not to say that Farran won't get a chance to get a hood and cloak in a future set. There's nothing that'd stop them from using the hoods and cloaks for the Elves in future years, and for that matter a part like that could appear on another Earth elf or even in a set like some sort of boutique or clothing shop (which would be another great sort of fantasy business for a future Elves set). But in a book can only include a single fig to represent the theme, I think we'd be much more likely to see a female character.

It would be nice surprise if we ended up getting a hooded/cloaked Farran in a polybag with the summer wave sets. If not hopefully I can pick up an extra hood and paint it.

But do polybags ever have such exclusive parts in them?

Well I think the current Mr Freeze polybag is exclusive. So if they can do exclusive minifigs I think they could give us an already existing mold in a different colour (Plus we still may get a hood for Farran in a future set, hopefully.

Final (unwatermarked ) images are up on Amazon.fr

Wonderful. Now we can finally the back of the sets/boxes. Ragana's castle looks great from all angles.

A shadow dragon would be a logical continuation of the current plotline. Besides; we already know there's a Queen dragon, but who knows what happened to the King?
