Darn, I'm too late and missed the pics. How are people seeing them now? I read that there's a pdf file on some site with pics, but have yet to find it myself. I'd like to see the preliminary pics, just to get an idea of what to expect. Anyone know where they are?

Today some even newer prelim pics showed up than the ones in that PDF (the ones in the PDF are renders, the new ones are box pics with photos), but the mods don't want us posting links to any preliminary images or describing where to find them. We're getting closer and closer to a time when non-preliminary images might start showing up, though.

These Brick Sets were shown in a .pdf file that shouldn't be too hard to find. I haven't seen the newer images yet, though. I hope when I do find them, that they are higher resolution.

After having seen the new leaks, I've got to say that I like the new head molds, with the whole giving a similar impression to the Dinosaurs line T. Rex head and generally looking like an improved version of the 2007 Castle dragons. Not sure if I'll have the money to get any of these though. The new egg piece also seems interesting, although the fact that it is wider than some of the dragons raises a few unpleasant questions.

Really?

I guess if you like cartoonish dragons. I much prefer the Castle dragons, as they look a fair bit more mean and menacing. These dragons look, well, cutesy.

To me, the Fantasy Era dragons look every bit as cartoonish as these ones. Just, as you say, a lot meaner, which works well for some types of themes and stories but not so well for others. Plus, these LEGO Elves dragons are a lot more articulated.

Articulation, I don't mind, but I don't like the look of brick-built. And the heads are so cutesy, that's a no for me.

I suppose if you know what to look for.

Guess I'll just have to wait and wonder.

You're looking for Brick Sets. Maybe that will help. Think about other LEGO websites that might have them.

Oh wow, thanks so much. I found them. You're awesome.

After seeing the low-res pictures of the sets, I must say that I'm excited to get a more up-close look. The ones that interest me the most are the School, the Inn, and the Marketplace.

I like the hourglass piece, but it looks really tall in the teacher's hand... and it appears to have 1x1 round studs on each end?

The girl on the second floor of the inn looks new - is that the female earth elf?

Those twisty branch parts in the Marketplace set look awesome, but sorry to say that I'll likely replace all the purple and pink with other bricks...

I couldn't help but notice that it seems the orange dragon is different from the other two, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of any of them. I hope for a white-colored wind dragon so that each element is represented by a dragon in the theme - maybe a summer wave like Skyra's Castle?

I tend to use the de-pinking shears on these sets. So I've got a big hoard of pink and magenta bricks that will get their own project sometime. The sinister pink bunker of doom!

Yeah, I assume the green haired girl elf is an earth elf. It looks like Lego is evening out the gender ratio for the Elves, which is great. We have a new blue haired boy elf as well in the 2016 sets. We still need a male wind elf.

As for the white wind dragon- I'm betting it will come out in the 4th wave sets. After all, the white dragon is represented on the box, and there is even a sneak peak of it in the latest webisode.

Can you post some pictures of how your sets look like after doing that?

I also have depinked part of my Elves sets. I'll post a pic in the 2015 thread a little later today.

If you have the Bakery set, I'd also be interested in seeing it as well. That one has the most magenta bricks, so it would be interesting to see it in a different colour scheme.

So I had hoped this was a Jan 1st wave but I'm guessing since official pictures aren't in the cache yet that this is a March release like wave 1?

Chill - there are like 4 other themes that have Jan releases that haven't been uploaded yet. We'll see 'em soon.

May I ask a question here about where and how to post my Elves related MOCs and MODs on this forum? Should I start a new topic for each, or is it better to put all in the same topic? Sorry for the off topic question!

Meanwhile, I love to trim things with a bit of pink, it really pops when you use lavender and pink where otherwise dominates a sea of Bley and tans.

Definitely agreed. For the most part, the pink in Lego Elves is hardly overwhelming, and is offset with tans, browns, and other colors like Flame Yellowish Orange and Medium Azur.

I don't know that there are firm rules about this, I'd say it depends how large/detailed the MODs or MOCs are. I'd group smaller / simpler builds.

I'd be interested in seeing how your bakery looks de-pinked. Since it has the most pink/magenta bricks of all the Elves sets, it would be fun to see what you've done with it.
