Clone OPatra Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Oh my, it seems the Avengers are going to have to storm the Arendelle Castle to retrieve Loki's scepter! Seriously, that Castle set it such an amazing parts pack. So many wonderful recolors abound in that set. Oaken's trading post is less exciting. I imagine most people would purchase it just for the reindeer. I do wish the minidolls had faces that were less… bland. Elsa is ok, but Anna and Kristoff just look so dead-eyed and lifeless. Anna especially could use a more expressive print. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 That castle is quite pretty, and it has some excellent parts. I love Anna's new hair and Elsa's unique tiara. And the Snowgies are just plain adorable. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Wow, Princesses' really like their slides, even when they're in their teens. The cast,e looks nice, I love the use of the Scarlet Witch/ Chima pieces as icicles! Quote
sunhuntin Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 thanks for those pics. loving both sets, especially sven. pity that oakens trading post comes without oaken, but i can see why, price wise. love the colors on the new castle. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 What a bunch of nice pieces, especially in the Castle set I'm thinking I'll need to go to the store and ask for one of those for my non-existing daughter Quote
strangely Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I might actually buy Arrendale castle. So many great parts and honestly I just think the build is sharp. Not a fan of the trans blue window pieces with the shape of the window printed on it. It's a technique I've never liked, the printing never looks right as there's always a blank space and the printing is never quite thick enough. I'm glad they're trying a little bit more with the faces, these actually look sort of similar to the characters they're supposed to be. Still I kind of think they should redesign the style of face printing they do for the mini-dolls, I've yet to see a face I was completely impressed with. This is also my favorite Lego fireplace, it just impresses me for some weird reason. Quote
Wardancer Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Thank you for the reindeer pictures. Now it has eyes, but marihuana eyes. Hmm, it still has very roundish, soft features. It would look strange next to a regular lego horse which has straighter edges. I am still going to get one, maybe it looks better with an oldschool saddle and a regular fig on it. rodiziorobs Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Arendelle keeps looking better and better. I love the glitter-trans-lt--blue pieces, the white leaves, and all the printed stuff (stickers in this would be okay too, they would be pretty versatile!). Anna's Arendelle hair looks really good. I have no real opinion about the reindeer, other than that if I would get this set cheaper in the secondary market without him, I would. There aren't any real standout pieces from that set (although it is nice to see the Unikitty horn be repurposed yet again in another color), but overall it looks nice and the sled looks pretty well-designed. They need some kind of bigdoll for Kristoff, because he just doesn't look good as a minidoll. Good thing they didn't bother making Oaken, or it would have looked even worse. Quote
Soupperson1 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 41066 has a really nice sleigh build. Okens shop is a pointless inclusion and would've been better with Oken in a different set. Sven is a nice mould and Kristoff looks fantastic! I really love the exterior of 41068! Lots of new pieces, it's a really fantastic design too! The interior is kind of bland, but you can see there's a lot of effort put into it to make it look movie accurate, such as a fireplace and the two rooms. It's a shame it's Frozen Fever characters, it would have been amazing if we had Anna in her olive dress and Hans (he could've reused Eric's legs and Fred/George Weasly's hair Quote
Vorkosigan Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 So has there been any confirmation of a release date? There was some talk earlier of these actually coming out this year instead of January 1st... Also I can't believe I never thought of the possibility of orange unicorn horns as carrots. Quote

Brickset predicts the set will be released tomorrow as it was added to LEGO's sever with the other November releases. There's also a huge advert for the sets in the LEGO club girls issue, I doubt they'd do anything that big for a licensed theme that would be out in Jan. The unicorn horn as a carrot came in this years frozen set too. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks for the info, I will take a look tomorrow. Quote
