I had never an official set which was a real challenge to build. That's why I more like to build MOC's from our building masters  . I can say that I had some frustrated moments by building Mocs like the GMK 6400 from gerger and the motorized Unimog from Markus53, and some models from Nico71 - and it seems that the mining excavator from sheo is the most difficult model I ever built. I cannot count the hours I spent on this construction and making instructions of it, and still I'm not finished.

I just started to build the Demag50 from Jennifer Clark. And after some building steps, I've seen that it's a very complex model which needs probably a long building process :classic:

Greetings

Alex

My most difficult building experiences are the 2283 witch doctor I just couldn't get the leg and arm parts right, even the second and third time I built it I still did it wrong  , the 7471 mars rover, and if you really want a Technic set it is the 8263 snow groomer.

I loved the witch doctor build!

I never said I didn't like it, I just said it was frustrating  I am still trying to figure out what to build with the scull parts....

Add me to list of people who have had problems fixing long beams across gaps where lots of pegs are involved. Luckily I've only broken a peg once, but there have been many occasions where I've experienced a combination of "hot brains" and "my insides are disappearing" feelings. It's a bit like the strange awareness of your own muscles when trying to judge the exact amount of strength to open the cellophane on a supermarket bakery loaf without completely destroying the packaging, but worse.

8860, around 1982 I think, with an average of 27 parts added on each page. 8851, with the tightest fit for pneumatic hoses ever. Or maybe 8466, first set after dark ages before color coding of pins and axles and before I revived my eye measure for beam and axle lengths.

After that building official sets has become easier and easier each year, no matter the size of the set.

I've just finished rebuilding 8868, and the pneumatic hoses in that are crazy. Getting them all to run up the middle of the crane turntable and not jam up when it turns is a challenge. I did 8880 just before that, both of these have a scary number of parts per page. 8880 puts together 1300 pieces in about 35 steps.
