yellost Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 This is the first MOC I'm posting here... It's a bigfig of Meca One I'm trying to build... Obviously, it's still a work in progress because, I seem to have run out of yellow pieces to build the legs. But that makes me an excuse for not doing them, since I'm kinda stuck on their design... Here is a general shot with Meca One standing in front of it. I've tried to do the body piece withe the same color scheme (well without the gold, of course. That's why the yellow ;-) ). here is the original for comparison: The profile : and the original : and a Quote
Siegfried Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I love it! *wub* It's almost perfect and the joints are very smart. Did you deliberatly miss the chest stud? I look forward to the rest. *sweet* Quote
john cleese Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Neat idea. I think the humans of sentai are done for now. :-P Quote
Asuka Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Wonderful and very, very accurate! *wub* *y* Quote
maiq the liar Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Very accurate, though you spelled his name wrong- MeCa One. Quote
Norro Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Nice work! Now a scale vehicle X-D God Bless, Nathan Quote
Siegfried Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Very accurate, though you spelled his name wrong-MeCa One. I though it was a joke.... 8-| Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Wow thats very cool, and unique to boot! 8- Quote
optimus-convoy Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 That is a really nice big build. I like what you did with the joints. Looks great. *y* Quote
Corvus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Amazing model, Yellost! His hands look a bit big, but once you add the legs he'll probably look fine. Very accurate, though you spelled his name wrong-MeCa One. I though it was a joke.... 8-| Yeah. He's a larger model, so Mega One. ;-) Quote
yellost Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Did you deliberatly miss the chest stud? I look forward to the rest. *sweet* I tried to do the chest stud but it felt rather odd, at that scale... A bit blocky, really... But come to think of it, I might try to make it with a technic car wheel... mmmh, needs pondering... Now a scale vehicle X-D I'll try to dig out my really old Duplo... :-P Amazing model, Yellost! His hands look a bit big, but once you add the legs he'll probably look fine. Well there's the problem, really... The legs... I can't seem to manage to get a simplified idea of the original model... (actually, you may notice that the bottom of the stand it's on is a start of one X-D but I ran out of the needed pieces waaay too soon... Everytime I try to build something I seem to NOT have the pieces I want... :-/ I suppose I'll have to make an Harelquin version first and then order the pieces in yellow off Bricklink... I think I may have some of them in red, if I look deep enough... Or maybe I'll have to rip them off the body and arms and then put everything back when I have all of them... How do you guys do when you don't have enough of what you need? Thanks all for the coms Quote
Siegfried Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I suppose I'll have to make an Harelquin version first and then order the pieces in yellow off Bricklink... I've never heard of that term, and I like it! *wub* Quote
Corvus Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 A harlequin version? What is that? A non color coded version? Quote
yellost Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) Harlequin is a folklore figure but I don't know from which country. Basically, it's a kid who was too poor to buy himself a costume for carnival, so he picked up lots of pieces of clothes in the garbage and everywhere else he could and sewed a costume with lots of different colors from them. So what I'm saying is that I'm gonna try to build a design without taking care of what color I use... Edited September 15, 2007 by yellost Quote
Asuka Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 A harlequin version? What is that? A non color coded version? A very, very neat and cool term for hazardous colored MOCs indeed, thanks yellost! *y* Quote
yellost Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) I finally took the time to order my missing pieces and finish that MOC of mine... Took me some time... First some shots of the finished leg. profile with its original version on top seen up front : and 3/4 vue I tried to stick as much as I could to the original while still keeping the general style of my model. Which was rather hard considering all those holes and tech gimmicks displayed on the original leg... Still, I think it turned out ok. And here it is, Mega One in all its glory! With its original smaller counter part. In the end, my only gripe is the hip joints which are too weak to my taste... The octogonal pillars only hold by two studs, son they fall too easily...I'm thinking of putting a 2x3 plate between the pillar and the middle piece but it kind of ruins the general shape of it... Voil Edited December 30, 2007 by yellost Quote
zero1312 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Holy crap!!! I also had an idea like this but it wouldn't be that good. *wub* *wub* *wub* Quote
