Hi and welcome to all of you. I'd like to introduce myself here at the eurobricks forum. I'm quite new here and so i started building modulars wit LDD only a short time ago. Here is my first attempt of designing a modular supermarket. Only first steps are done, but I'll post more images step by step. I'd like you to comment on what you are seeing and maybe you have some good hints for a noob like me.

The cash desk and the trash container in the backyard are the only two details I have finished yet.

Looks like a good start!

If I see correctly, you're using 1x4x5 doors and windows instead of 1x4x6. I'd suggest using the 1x4x6 doors as these are the newer ones and the old doors are sometimes hard to get (especially in a good condition!).

Good looking start. I've been playing around with the idea of trying to do modular buildings as well. Do you know where there is some guidance for the design aesthetics or requirements?

I'm assuming with the steps that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to buy too much at any one time. No carts plus not able to get the carts down to the vehicle. I'm assuming this will be like a small market where people can supplement their grocery needs, but not be an all in one shop.

It looks very streamlined so far. It will be interesting to see where it takes you. (And I agree about the 5 high doors/windows. Also to keep in line with the newer Modulars. And good news for you, just last year they released a light blue-gray 6 high frame)

Sarles - as far as guidance for aesthetics, basically look at the official sets and pick apart the ideas you like. There are countless MOCs on here that show some great designs. A lot of the designers are very helpful if you have questions. I've also went to flickr and looked for the cafe corner LEGO group. And standards are as follows.

Thank you TheLegoDr. I was looking for exactly what the Wiki answered. I figured this style of building was like the "Moon Base" designs where there where some specific design standards to them. Thank you for the links and quick response.

Thank you for your first feedback. I'm going to change the window layout to the 6 high ones. And I also thought of building a ramp on the one side of the entrance for carts, wheelchairs, etc.

Hey Folks,

I just started to complete the basement of my grocery-shop building. Here are some impressions of the first ideas you gave to me. I changed the window and door size and placed a ramp. I hope you like my shopping carts. My first female customer seems to like it.

Now it is time for the interior. Any ideas?

The Kwik-E-Mart has a lot of items that could be used for food. Also, in the 1x1 bricks in LDD you can find the milk brick. You can also go and buy in Brickbuilderspro. They have some custom stickers you can use. Also, I think that instead of using those doors that open by swinging, you can use the build for sliding ones as shown in the Creator Family Home.
