Mr Spielbrick Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) Ah yes, that makes sense Batbrick. Thanks :-) Haha, Toht... That'd be great! Even without the hand thing, which would be extremely difficult on a minifig. But what we can have: a mean face with glasses, a black uniform and let's not forget - a stylish black hat. Batbrick Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Well i think i can faithfully say that will never happen, remember were dealing with a childrens toy here. ____________ Yeah i would agree, though I reckon TLC could manage a very (emphasis on very) toned down version with flipfaces- like with Zam Wesell in the Coruscant Chase set. To get Toht would be a dream come true for me, it'd be a great new hat mold, and awesome black suit! *wub* Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
jedikermit Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 L.F.A.D.N., that would be hilarious. And awesome. And nightmare-inducing. I'm all for it! *y* *y* *y* Quote

Belloq Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone. I'm new, just joined, and thought I'd introduce myself. i'm a HUGE indiana Jones fan. I bought all the films on video cassete when they were released. I bought the DVDs and the remastered versions too! I hope that they'lle release some special edition type of deal after KOTCS is released. Anyway, getting back on topic, I was wondering if Lego has anything against IJ and TLC becuase they seem to try to avoid anything that has to do with the film other than that measly but cool set they'll be releasing. I mean the guy who plays General Veers in SW ESB is the same guy who plays Walter Donovan in IJ. But when lego released his minifig they didn't make a new face print, but they re-used the AT-ST driver's face! Why? Why did Lego have to put on some dumb goggles he didn't wear in the film?! I mean do they not want us to throw it on a suit and a gray hairpiece so we have Donovan? I can understand not making various other sets like the blimp or the tank or Coronel Vogel because they all bear the nazi symbol. But why won't Lego make Dr. Schneider? I mean, they coud make a set with Marcus, Sallah, the Joneses and Elsa. Not to mention a few desert dummies and Donovan. Or they could could just make one with the grail knight, several cups, a water basin Indiana, Elsa and Walter if they didn't want to include a bloody and shot Henry. Any thoughts? On a side note, why won't Toht be minifiged? I mean sure, he is a Gestapo but lego can just call him a spy. I mean he could be included with a version of Dietrich in the race for the stolen treasure set. Also, I hope that Belloq really IS included in that set, becuase, I mean, common! We HAVE to have him in his classic white suit, not just in some jungle outfit! Anyway, its nice to have joined such a great community fille with people like me, LEGO LOVERS!!! *sweet* Edited November 17, 2007 by Belloq Quote
ExoBuilder Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Welcome to Eurobricks Belloq! It's nice to know there's more Indy fans out there. Enjoy your stay! EB59 Quote
jedikermit Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Hiya Belloq! First off, great choice of screen name. *y* Keep in mind that the first four Classic IJ sets that have been announced are just the first of what should be many--just the tip of the Indiana Iceberg, as it were. Then since KOTCS is coming out in '08, expect a strong focus on that movie...summer will see the four KOTCS sets, and I'd assume even more for that movie towards Christmas of '08. But after that, we should see quite a bit of "infill" with all of the characters, scenes, vehicles and violence of the original IJ trilogy. Looking at what they've done with Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter and other licenses, I have faith in LEGO doing Jones right. Don't get scared off based on their initial offerings. Sallah, Dr. Schneider, Short Round and others are just around the corner. I hope. *wub* Quote

Any thoughts? They couldn't do it because Christians might et offended i know the Christians on here wont mind but its a risk lego cant afford to make Quote
Belloq Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Thanks Jedikermit, and I hope that you are right, tohugh I'm quite sure we'll NEVER see the Nazi rally scene. X-D One can dream though. Now that I think a bout it though, lego made J.Jonah Jameson's moustache grey insstead of black. I wonder if the were trying to avoid Hitlerizing him. I think you might be onto something though LFADN, I'm pretty sure Lego wouldn't take such a risk. Quote

jedikermit Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 why would you want that scene anyway?!? It's an iconic scene, it's historically relevant, and for all his fighting Nazis, it's the one time that Indy actually meets Hitler. And no, I don't think LEGO should really make it. It would be in horrible taste. And yet, there's part of me that wants to see it MOC'd at some point. Quote
Vader Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I for one would hate to see that scene in lego form, i agree that it's bound to be Moc'd at some point but lego doing it themselves would just be so wrong. Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I think some of these set ideas are getting a bit crazy!! However, any set that contains Nazi minifigs is a good set for me, I would like to build up an army, but a Nazi rally!? That's just plain odd. Quote

I don't think its anything like that. I'd be surprised if we didn't see some of those figures at some point. They can't release them all at once. I imagine we'll get another group of sets in a year or so, with some of the figures that were left out this time. And remember how long it took to get Storm Troopers and Han in the Star Wars line... I don't see why they would be against the Last Crusade any more than any other movie. Temple of Doom got even less sets than the Last Crusade. Steve Quote
