CM4Sci Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 Yes for the Fernsehturm Berlin, yes for Chrysler Building. Quote
Emmi Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Yes for the Fernsehturm Berlin, yes for Chrysler Building. Is it the full city or only the most iconic buildings of each? Quote
6ix Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Could this be the serie's swan song? CM4Sci, is it possible to tell how big these sets are? And the scale of the buildings (as compared to the already released ESB). And also, as the poster above asked, is there build up area in between the iconic buildings, or is it only the buildings? Thank you. Quote
tafkatb Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I'm guessing the bridges in the Venice one are the Rialto and the Bridge of Sighs. Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Hmm... These are going to have to be awfully impressive to keep my interest. I thought Rockefeller Center was one of the weaker entries in the line, and this seems like it will just enhance the problems with scaling down so far. Quote
6ix Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I thought Rockefeller Center was one of the weaker entries in the line Are you not aware of the Flatiron Building? ;-) Quote
tafkatb Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Also, that tan building with grey roof in the Berlin set - was the roof a dome? It might be the Reichstag, is what I'm getting at. Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Are you not aware of the Flatiron Building? ;-) I have all of them from Sears Tower through Louvre, Flatiron is way more interesting than Rockefeller, and I don't even care for it. (The Burj is the worst, IMO.) Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 They're REALLY small - keep in mind the Statue of Liberty is a very small sand green trophy fig. Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Sounds awful. Are these supposed to be about architecture or geography? Quote
tafkatb Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Further possibilities: "Tall statue, has a gold trophy fig on top." - Victory Column "Tall brown building with green roof, looks like Big Ben." - St. Mark's Campanile Quote
jluck Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Sounds awful. Are these supposed to be about architecture or geography? Ya, I gotta agree with you. I love the architect series, it's one of the few things I still buy. But this sounds like a bit of a stretch. Guess I'll just have to wait for pictures to form a final opinion. Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Of those three skylines, two are same size and third is bigger (I think New York) I find it strange that there are news about those skylines but nothing about US Capitol Building (99,99€). No picture yet, but it should go well with white house and Lincoln memorial (proportions should be at least roughly ok). Quote
tafkatb Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Probably because that one isn't until later in the year... Quote

But a link to anything. Or even set number? Quote
jluck Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 What's this about the US Capitol building ? I know no photo. But a link to anything. Or even set number? Agreed, this is certainly the first I'm hearing about it! That sounds far more interesting! Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'll have to wrap my capitol building in cobwebs to correctly represent the lack of any real accomplishment occurring within. ...and that, despite not being particularly amazing from an Architecture perspective, sounds much better than a pico-scale cityscape. Quote
XAxles Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Wonder how they're gonna nail the Capitol's dome? And whether or not said dome can be replicated to make other domes (St. Peter's)? Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 There's a Capitol set coming out? No mention of that anywhere. Quote
Peasantseverywhere Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 There's a Capitol set coming out? No mention of that anywhere. I hadn't heard about this either ????? Also Sci do you have any more information regarding the new Burj khalifa, how big would you estimate it roughly is ? How much would you guess ? Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Burj Khalifa looks like it's around 30+ studs tall Yes for St. Mark's Campanile Yes for Victory Column Yes for Reichstag Yes for Rialto Possibly for Bridge of Sighs They're all really small builds sitting next to each other on a long black plate. Quote
6ix Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 They're all really small builds sitting next to each other on a long black plate. Mmm... Doesn't sound exciting. But I'll get 2 NYC sets anyway, since I collect the NYC Architecture sets. I ♥︎ NY Quote
jimmynick Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Berlin - Brandenburg Gate. Tall needle-like building, red and white. Black building that looks round. Tall statue, has a gold trophy fig on top. Tan building with grey roof. Next to the building are two 1x2 tiles with prints on them, they look like banners/advertisements/something. Perhaps the tall statue is Siegessäule? Quote
Emmi Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) what can I say? in my opinion these are the best architecture sets to date. I absolutely love them - and yes, I have seen the prelims. Edited October 13, 2015 by Emmi Quote
