PenPlays Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Does anyone know how this theme sells and how/or populair Minecraft is? I'm kinda liking this theme because of the possibilities with MOC'ing, but I'm interested in the future of Minecraft. Depends on the set size. I keep a good eye at some of my local stores, and it's clear to me that only the sets kids can afford do well. I've seen the same Nether Fortresses sitting at my local Lego store for nearly a month now (assuming, because they're getting dusty). I'm now even more curious in the regards of sales now, especially since Lego is giving it a D2C set. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Can't blame people for not buying nether fortress. It's 5xx parts, mostly easy to mold common bricks, and its 80 bucks. Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 So are the villagers popular characters? I just want one to make a guy in a straight jacket, but I don't want to have to spend a lot on Bricklink, if they're really popular characters in a $200 set. Quote
JudgeChuck Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) ^ For us LEGO Minecraft afficionados, the villagers are one of the most wanted, currently unreleased, mobs in the game and a lot of people will be after them, I would guess. I think also, given the price point for this set, a lot of people who are not going to buy the whole set will be after villagers and those that do buy the set will probably want a few more. Price on Bricklink will then depend on that demand and the supply from resellers who purchase the set to part out. That will be an unknown... Edited February 14, 2016 by JudgeChuck Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Drats. I was hoping they were not very popular. Oh well. Thanks. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I kinda like that crazy blocky horse. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I won't be satisfied with this theme until the Villager parts are reused for a couple of Witches. They could make the hat fit around the head in the same way as the armor, and I'd hope they'd get as much use out of the torso as possible. Quote
just2good Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Here's a look at the new Iron Golem set! It has awesome pieces and a very clever play feature! Love this new piece: a modified 1x2 tile that has a minifigure head peg on it: Edited February 17, 2016 by just2good Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 That will be verrrry useful... thank you J2G! Quote
JudgeChuck Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 That looks like a nice set... It'll definitely be a nice addition to The Village, when it appears. Nice new printed parts and that modified tile with peg will definitely be useful. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the play features in these sets, as they detract from the basic block aesthetic of the theme, but it doesn't upset me too much! Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Whoa. I may actually have to get that set. The Iron Golem looks great (enough for use outside of Minecraft, even) and the transformation feature is brilliant! Quote
JudgeChuck Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I'm sure you've seen this already, but Huw @Brickset has posted a review of #21125 The Jungle Tree House. Looks even better close up! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the review, just2good, I'm always looking forward to yours I really didn't expect that spawing feature, what a pleasent surprise! I think the Wither set features a similar function given that it spawns the exact same way (except with different materials) The Jungle Tree House looks excellent as well, I especially like the way they translated the vines, the cocoa nuts and of course the Ozelot into LEGO form Edited February 17, 2016 by Lego-Freak Quote
Forresto Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Never bought a minecraft set before even though i'm a massive fan of the game. That golem set might be the first one I do. Does anyone know if that peg is normal lego stick size or is it for a Minifigure head Just reread the review it is for minifigures. Edited February 17, 2016 by Forresto Quote
JudgeChuck Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Smyths.co.uk and amazon.co.uk have the following pricing on their websites: #21123 The Iron Golem £19.99 #21124 The End Portal £49.99 #21125 The Jungle Tree House £74.99 #21126 The Wither £29.99 I haven't seen definitive parts counts yet though. Forresto Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 That's not awful all things considered. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 @ #108 are we talking about in the game or how popular would they be as figures? Figure wise, its a safe bet they will be desired. Especially the White coat guy if any set buyers are Fans of DanTDM on youtube since Dr Trayaurus is a white lab coat villager. Game wise? they are VIPs in the trading world and they are so darn cute. I really hope Trayaurus will be available in a reasonably priced set. @ #108 are we talking about in the game or how popular would they be as figures? australopithecine Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Found the Iron Golem and the Wither sets this morning at Target. Didn't buy them as I intend to wait for double points at the Lego store in a couple of weeks. Quote
latenightguy Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Last night, I noticed that Tragic Banjo has changed their avatar to a Zombie Villager. With their reputation for hinting at the Disney Collectible Minifigures with the avatar, could this be hinting at its inclusion in 21128 The Village? Quote
JudgeChuck Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Well, confirmed prices are up on S@H, so I thought I'd run a little comparison between prices on the UK and US sites: Set GBP USD 21113 19.99 19.99 21114 24.99 29.99 21115 39.99 39.99 21116 49.99 49.99 21117 59.99 69.99 21119 19.99 19.99 21120 39.99 39.99 21121 59.99 59.99 21122 69.99 79.99 21123 19.99 19.99 21124 49.99 59.99 21125 74.99 69.99 21126 29.99 39.99 Please can someone explain to me how on earth TLG are charging £74.99 for 21125 The Jungle Tree House, while it is only $69.99 in the US? Now, it's bad enough that for so many sets we are charged on a £=$ basis, e.g. £/$19.99 for 21123, but to be charged MORE £ than $ for the same set just sticks in the throat! Quote

I would say that is definitely what Tragic Bango is hinting at. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 A Zombie Villager? I'd like that a lot Now for some wiggly-squiggly baby Zombies and we're all set, at least Zombie-wise. Adorable as they may appear, I despise those annoying little pests I wonder how many mobs we can expect in the village set, given the size of it. Maybe 10-12? Quote

Well, there definitely should be one more golem, but for the one we get in 21123 Set. I also hope for at least 2 villagers (to be honest - even 3, cause this is the whole set about them), 1 or 2 zombie villagers, definitely Steve (probably Alex too), 2 skeletons or zombies, a creeper and lots of animals - maybe we will finally get chickens! What do you think? Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 The only thing I truly want from this theme are Witches. Easily doable with a new hat mold, since the body and head exist in the Villagers. However, Witches are the least-merchandised mobs from the game. Perhaps a Swamp set with some Slimes and a Witch? Quote
Ookami Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Does anybody know, when the license of Lego Minecraft is going to end? Will "The Fortress" and "The Village" be the last two sets of the theme? I wonder, because I like Lego Minecraft so much and can't wait for the new sets to arrive at my country's shops. Though, I've heard, that this theme isn't very popular, so it is likely, that 2016 is the last year for it. So bad... Quote
