XAxles Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 That Technic Porsche, along with the rest of Speed Champs Wave 2, may get revealed at the Geneva Auto Show. Quote
Strojnik80 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 This sets are cool but maybe they need just some little changes on some car parts. Quote
GallardoLU Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 That Technic Porsche, along with the rest of Speed Champs Wave 2, may get revealed at the Geneva Auto Show. I wouldn't be surprised if the final Technic Porsche set makes it's reveal at Geneva. But according to Ford, their sets will be available march first (before Geneva). Which unless they have some extra special arraignment, would mean all the sets should be available before Geneva. at the same time though Lego does need to reach car fans so doing an announcement of sorts saying "Available Now" on all the remaining sets would probably gain them quite a few more sales. GallardoLU Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Lego just gave us a few more pictures. Quote
wilson3a10 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Would only buy porsche set because they won the last year 24 lemans Quote
SirBlake Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Nice pics. I'm happy to see the rear of the Mustang. I can't wait to pick these up! Hopefully the April 1 date sticks. Maybe find them in late March, though that's a tough one for me. The closest TRU is pretty crappy. Quote
jonwil Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I hope these do come out in Australia (they aren't in the 1st half catalog). Wouldn't mind the Corvette and maybe the Camaro and the F-150 (just because I really like pickup trucks :) Quote
Vectormatic Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Do those mustang tail lights look like prints to anyone else? Im not seeing the sticker edges, same goes for the black stripes on the front of the R18 Quote
SirBlake Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I'm sure the tail lights are stickers. Everything else is. I managed to find the McLaren at my dumpy TRU last night. That one originally sold out fast and I hadn't seen it in months. It was a really fun build and fired me up even more for this new wave. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I'm sure the tail lights are stickers. Everything else is. I managed to find the McLaren at my dumpy TRU last night. I actually HAD to buy it from S@H because it has NEVER showed up at my local TRU! Quote
cityfanlego63 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I love audi I think that's going to do a good set . Quote
SirBlake Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I actually HAD to buy it from S@H because it has NEVER showed up at my local TRU! Lame. I think it's odd that the entire theme is exclusive to a single store. It'd be nice if this second wave got full distribution. Quote
bjornkeizers Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I'm sure the tail lights are stickers. Everything else is. I managed to find the McLaren at my dumpy TRU last night. That one originally sold out fast and I hadn't seen it in months. It was a really fun build and fired me up even more for this new wave. I've been seeing the same thing here in the Netherlands... I originally got the Speed Champions LaFerrari and Porsche 918 late july. Shortly after, there weren't any McLaren P1's to be found pretty much anywhere. It's been sold out for months at my local LEGO specialist and only a fraction of my online stores still have some. Most are sold out and have been for ages. You can still get them from LEGO and if you're not in a rush, some stores have them available online... but that does mean paying shipping unless you're ordering other stuff. It was so rare to find around september/october, I was pretty much convinced it was already unofficially retired. But nope, still listed as a current product online. Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I'll be getting all of these with the double points in March. So excited! It's such a great theme. Quote
GallardoLU Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 March lego challenger proves March 1st date for all Speed Champion sets: Quote
SirBlake Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Awesome! Can't wait, but if I have to, 1 month is better than 2. I worked a little last night based on photos we've seen on an 8-stud wide version of the Mustang. It's working out pretty well, but with all the slopes, parts availability is a challenge. My first run at it is red, black and blue with white wheel arches lol. Quote
GallardoLU Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 came across this article as well. http://pop-critica.com/lego-announces-new-speed-champions-cars/ several final product advertisement images (all sets) Quote
-zenn Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I'm a bit excited about the F150 + hot rod! Ow yes, I probably pick one up. :) Quote
GallardoLU Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) All these new images have me excited (as evident by the number of posts I've made lately) so I've gone through and ranked them in the order I most want them. 1st Porsche 919 Hybrid and 917K Pit Lane 2nd Audi R18 e-tron quattro 3rd Chevrolet Camaro Drag Race 4th Chevrolet Corvette Z06 5th Ford F-150 Raptor & Ford Model A Hot Rod 6th Audi R8 LMS ultra 7th Ford Mustang GT I'm a big fan of Le Mans, primarily older cars (917k, GT40, 787B) but new LMP cars are always a nice sight too. there is also that mean Ford Coupe, but I could do without the truck. deffinitly cant wait much longer Edited February 4, 2016 by GallardoLU Quote
