SirBlake Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I totally forgot about the 'Vette. So cool. I hope this theme keeps going, and we keep getting such cool and varied designs. My interests lie mostly around american muscle, so this wave is perfect for me. That said, a third wave with some Japanese classics would be really cool. GTR, Supra, RX-7, etc. Quote
RacerRabbit Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 It's yellow and comes with a camera. Yellow. Just as I expected! Does it have any more of those 2x2 wedge plates on it? Quote
XAxles Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Expected stickers for the Corvette: Headlights (on 1x2 curved slope) Z06 side vent (see the sticker on the Audi R8 LMS car) Vent on rear fenders (upper and lower) Taillamps (on 2x2 slope) I have a feeling that the grille is stickered, but then that space seems to be 2-wide and easy to do using LEGO grille pieces. Also, TLG will probably use the EU-spec Z06 without the weird turn signal in front. Quote
Brickprawn Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 It would be amazing if they provided the pieces for a rear wing and stickers to make it into the GTE version. We would almost have a full field of Le Mans GTE cars then. Quote

We would almost have a full field of Le Mans GTE cars then. Are there major cosmetic differences between the new Z06 and the C7.R? If so then more pieces may be needed for the conversion... And if you put the C7.R next to the Porsche 919 you get the 2015 Le Mans LMP1 and LMGTE Pro winners. Quote
Kaanere Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Are there major cosmetic differences between the new Z06 and the C7.R? If so then more pieces may be needed for the conversion... The major difference is the spoiler. You would have aslo to get more stickers. Quote
XAxles Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) Weird. After the initial big pics (which is all we needed, frankly), the Speed Champs sets are nowhere to be seen again. The Italian catalog had Archi sets and Nexo Knight figs (among other tasty things), but not SC, much less the 'Vette. LA Auto Show, perhaps? Edited November 8, 2015 by XAxles Quote
YellowCorvette Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 It's kinda annoying that after the first pictures leak of the 2016 Speed Champions sets, we didn't get any further information about the sets. Quote
CT-22-2759 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 The major difference is the spoiler. You would have aslo to get more stickers. Well, at least it so far only needs a spoiler and the stickers for conversion, otherwise more different pieces will be needed for the chassis, bumper, side pieces and possibly a proper race car style interior. The C7.R has side exhaust pipes unlike the regular Z06 and a different rear end besides the spoiler for the cosmetic differences... Quote
The Cobra Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 The Italian catalog had Archi sets and Nexo Knight figs (among other tasty things), but not SC, much less the 'Vette. Trouble is, here in Italy we don't even know IF the 2016 sets will be available in shops (they surely won't be part of the January and March waves). Quote

I dunno if they didn't upload them because they're sososososo prelim or if the... April release date has anything to do with it. Quote

April release date has anything to do with it. Oh, please don't tell me they come out in April instead of January. I'm currently ready to film a long stop-motion animated movie and requires the new sets sooner rather than later. Besides, weren't they revealed alongside the other January releases like the new City range and Nexo Knights. Quote

Catalog page says April, maybe that's just the region of the world where this is from, but didn't we see a Spring release for these this year? Quote
GallardoLU Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 yeah these were mid to late march release in 2015. I assumed that they would be around the same time again. (start of most motorsports seasons) Quote
SirBlake Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Dang, I'm really hoping for a January release. I can't wait that much longer for my Lego Mustang. Quote
CT-22-2759 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Those aside, I sure hope the items won't be a disappointment when they come. I am definitely getting the Audi R18, Corvette and that Porsche 919... Quote
GallardoLU Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 any news on that Corvette? thought for sure we'd have an image of it by now. Quote
XAxles Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Any news about anything related to this theme, for that matter? Hey, TLG, we've ran out of salivary gland replacements! Quote
BlockLogo Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Hope these are ok to post. Maybe too big? http://i.imgur.com/lGtyDbp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PdyDtho.jpg Edited December 18, 2015 by Rick Please keep embedded images to a max resolution of 1024x768 px Quote
jonwil Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Hmmm, is that Z06 the same color as the McLaren or is it regular yellow? Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the new wedge plate appears in one set only. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Hmmm, is that Z06 the same color as the McLaren or is it regular yellow? Looks like bright light orange, to me. Compare with the curved bit behind the hot rod engine, which looks yellow. Quote
tafkatb Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Oh my gosh, I just noticed the trophies in these sets - what an adorably clever little build! Quote
BlockLogo Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I'll be picking up all the American models and skipping the race cars. Not that I don't like them, but one has to have SOME limits. Quote
