Flieger Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 In the video it looks more like yellow, and that makes some sense considering what the lady says: "The Lego minifigures make up the largest population in the world. I don't know if you are aware of it, but there are more than 5 billions minifigures. And we are exited to annouce the partnership with the DFB (German Football Association): finally the largest population gets its own national team". This implies some kind of Lego 'national' team, not a German national team. I am not totally sure, of course. Why would the DFB be involved if it is not a DFB team? And if it is the German national team, why say it is the team of the minifig population? Quote
KCMatze Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I suppose they wanted some cool sounding sentence to announce the series. But as it's a license I don't see them do a) non-existing football players or b) a licensed "set" with yellow skin tone. They stopped that quite some time ago... Again that's just me speculating in the wild ;-) Quote
KCMatze Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Do only I find it strange that we have no further information on this series or is just nobody interested in it but me :D ?! Been over a month aaaanndd: nothing. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) It's going to be available June, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first reveal of this series, is someone finding it in a store. Edited March 12, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
Tech Artist Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 It's going to be available June, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first reveal of this series, is someone finding it in a store. Are they only going to be available in Germany(I think it was a German team?) or worldwide? Quote
KCMatze Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I better check my store regularly in mid-May then. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) Are they only going to be available in Germany(I think it was a German team?) or worldwide? Only in Germany as far as we know. Edited March 12, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
K_Tiger Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Do only I find it strange that we have no further information on this series or is just nobody interested in it but me :D ?! Been over a month aaaanndd: nothing. I turn the games on as background noise on the weekends, but these are only gonna be released in Germany. Being in the States, I'm not sure If I'm gonna try to track down any. Quote
Sven F Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 This is going to be a mess. I predict most of these will be bought up by resellers in Germany who will then ship them to the rest of the world for a premium. Quote
K_Tiger Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Probably. I wasn't into LEGO at the time, but is that what happened with Team GB? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Probably. I wasn't into LEGO at the time, but is that what happened with Team GB? Pretty much, I never got them due to the horrendous prices. The same thing will probably happen with this series. Quote
Borex Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 With a series like these, only for sale in one country, will they make new molds? I can only imagine new hairpieces will be made. So, 16 figs, that means that a few people from Die Mannschaft will not be made in minifig. If i was one of them i would be pissed haha. Isnt there a list yet with who/what to expect? Quote
KCMatze Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 As far as I know no news since the reveal at the Nürnberg Toy Fair. I got one minifig from the GB series so far, got him pretty cheap off ebay. I do want all the football players, but it will be a great mess, I fear. Even if I live in Dortmund, Germany - a football-loving city. But with all those limitiations the scalpers will fight hard for their money-bringing minifigures. This might be even the first time I try to buy a full box, not to sell it for my bonus, but to secure that I get a full set. These might be hard to feel, as they will probably all have a football as an accessory. Quote
just2good Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Funny you ask that, because we're getting a LEGO Messi. Here's our first look at the series. From eBay. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Hope they're not all getting reused faces. What's with the giant yellow triangle? Google doesn't show that. Quote
DarthPotato Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Huh, so the only new part about the figure's the torso. If the rest of the figures are similar to this one, then I definitely won't feel as bad about not being able to get this series. Still, for what it's worth, he's got a really nice torso print. Quote
Shawn Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) This has to be a fake. No? The printing looks terrible. Do you think this is real? Looks a lot like this one http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B010GUPTBS and the colors are bleeding through I think. I am just guessing, so if you have more information, I am probably incorrect. Borex Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I thought they only made figs of the german soccerteam? Plus i expect dualmolded arms and legs, or at least printed legs. I dont think Messi is real, probably custom? Quote
MAB Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Probably. I wasn't into LEGO at the time, but is that what happened with Team GB? I remember sending six full sets and countless invidual packets at cost price to people in the US, Aus, Germany and Canada that I know through another forum. I've also benefitted from deals in reverse such as the Target cubes. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Funny you ask that, because we're getting a LEGO Messi. Here's our first look at the series. From eBay. What?! But they announced a partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) at the Toy Fair Messi and the Barcelona are from La Liga (Spain). (And thank god the jersey says that's Messi, because it doesn't look like him at all) Edited March 13, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
just2good Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 To me it looks like him, but maybe I'm assuming too much. I just saw the figure on eBay. I don't know much about fútbol. Perhaps it could be a seperate promo? That makes sense since we never see leaks of CMFs from Mexico. They're usually made in China. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) The logo in that pic, is from the Germany National Football Team That means, this series will have players from the Germany National Football Team: Barcelona is a football club from Spain. :classic: :classic: Edited March 13, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 That looks awful, but it's a good thing as I don't plan on getting them. That looks nothing like him at all. Quote
KCMatze Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 No way Messi is in a series about the German national team ;) Quote
