April 2, 20168 yr Are you both coming to Brickworld in Schaumburg, IL this June? Then you can visit the Discovery Center and the Lego store there as well (and IKEA if you want). I may. Looks fun. What exactly goes into the event? Is it all just displays or is there more to it? Edited April 2, 20168 yr by Tech Artist
April 2, 20168 yr I may. Looks fun. What exactly goes into the event? Is it all just displays or is there more to it? If you come for the public days (Sat/Sun), it's really just displays, but that is the main draw for me. If you come for the full thing, there are workshops, set drafts, games and movies.
April 2, 20168 yr How are sightings for these figures going aside from LEGO stores? With the Disney figures coming out in a month, I'm starting to panic that I won't have a chance at this wave. Goshdarnit, I want my Sharkman and Astronaut. I almost had them, today, a Target had a full display of them. But some young spoiled kid managed to convince his parents to take THE ENTIRE DISPLAY BOX OF THEM and buy it in one go. Just took it off the rack and put it in their cart. Seriously.
April 2, 20168 yr My toys r us took them all off the shelf saying they cant sell them a few weeks ago and now have the monsters back up...
April 3, 20168 yr Just got three more minifigs today! I now have a Faun and two Clumsy Guys to join my Shark Guy. Really enjoying collecting this series! Anyway, the shop I bought the minifigs from has a deal going where if you buy 5, you get a sixth one for free. I've managed to get pretty good at feeling the packets, so I'm going to try to come back soon to attempt to get the Frightening Knight. Question is, what minifig do you guys think I should get as the free 6th one?

April 3, 20168 yr Another Shark or Queen if you wanna. Those 4 the best figs in the series to me. Hmm, I'd love to pick up a new Shark if I could find him, but I'm pretty sure he's been totally cleared out of the shop by now. I felt around for him but couldn't find anything, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's already cleared out of there! Still, I'm just happy I managed to get one of him. He's a great minifigure and he's definitely the most popular of this bunch, it seems! As for the Queen, I think I'm going to skip on her (even though that cape is utterly majestic) just because I already have the Castle queen from Drawbridge Defence.
April 4, 20168 yr I was finally able to pick up some more of these yesterday. A local Target had gotten what appeared to be more than one full box and had put them out. Was able to get several more sharks, knights and a few others and I FINALLY snagged some animal control officers. It has taken me ages to find her. She is such an easy one to feel for that the cases have been picked clean of it by the time I get to it. I love her figure though, especially her 'concerned' face. April 4, 20168 yr Dilemma time! So I'm planning this weekend on completing my Minifig Loyalty Card (there's a promotion here in Ireland at 'Art N Hobby' shops, where you buy 5 minifigs, get a sticker on the card for each one, and then get your sixth one free), probably by looking for the Frightening Knight as I've already gotten Shark Guy, 2 Clumsy Guys, and a Faun. According to the Loyalty Card, the promotion ends in May - at this point, Series 15 gets replaced by Disney, I think? However, I also just discovered that another local shop is actually still stocking 5 packets of Series 12, which seems insane! What do?

However they are pretty cheap to bricklink, minus the Pig Suit Guy that is. I would probably just go with series 15 if it was me. Unless you could get several of the pigs from the store that is stocking series 12.

I would probably just go with series 15 if it was me. Unless you could get several of the pigs from the store that is stocking series 12. The thing with this shop is, though, it's Argos (I think it's a shop only in Ireland and the UK) and it's a weird type of warehouse where you basically flip through a catalogue, order a specific item, and then you wait for a few minutes until your order number pops up on a screen and a worker brings the item to you. The trouble with that system for LEGO minifigures is, you can't stop to feel the packets and decide then if you want to buy it; you're just given random blind bags. It's both a really good thing - because the chances are completely random, so there's a chance there's a pig hiding among those 5 bags left in stock, rather than them being felt out and bought already - and a bad thing, because of having no clue what you're going to get! I think I'm going to buy one more Series 15 because I'll get a free bonus minifig, and then maybe I'll turn my attention to slowly buying out those five Series 12 ones, JUST in case there's a pig there. I think I'd rather chance it and at least have a bit of fun wondering what on earth minifigs they'd give me! Shark Suit Guy. He's so awesome. I have 6. :) Wow, six is quite the mini Shark army! That's awesome! I have one and I love him! I'm definitely going to try to pick him out if I can and get him for free, but the last time I was at the shop it seemed that he's already been scavenged by some fellow fans. I'd love a Right Shark to join my Left Shark, though! Edited April 4, 20168 yr by AnnaBuildsLego

I am not sure if we have any stores similar to that in the States or not. It definitely can't hurt to try and see what blind bags you might get from Series 12. Fingers crossed for the pig suit guy for you!
April 6, 20168 yr Checked out another local target that didn't have them at all until today. They finally got series 15. Better late than never haha. Took forever though.

It seems that some places have taken longer to get this series than past ones. Not sure why that is though. Did you snag any good ones?
April 7, 20168 yr These have been much less prevalent than previous series at Target and TRU. Maybe 1/4 of the time a store has had them at best? Maybe they got burned badly on the Monsters series that do not appear to have sold well (from what I have seen)

Maybe they got burned badly on the Monsters series that do not appear to have sold well (from what I have seen) The release date of S15 was a mess. And yeah, the Monsters series did not sell well (at least here where I live) I really hope this won't affect future releases of regular CMF series
April 7, 20168 yr It seems that some places have taken longer to get this series than past ones. Not sure why that is though. Did you snag any good ones? The whole release was a mess. I only managed to get one because i didn't have time. I grabbed the scary/evil knight. he's awesome. Im going back to the faun.
April 7, 20168 yr I have been to two different Targets on two occasions, and they have had a full display each time. Not always the figs I wanted, but between the two I picked up what I wanted. FWIW, one of these Targets has had stocking issues in the past--they were always out of Monsters, for example. Kind of the opposite of what you all are talking about.
April 7, 20168 yr Ones near me are overstocked on Monsters. They really need new DPCIs. I went to a Target this past weekend.. literally 2 packets on the.. little rack. Hanging there by themselves. Winged Warrior and a... a something, I can't remember which it was.
April 7, 20168 yr If these place that still have the monsters would discount them then they might be able to move that stock. I wouldn't mind buying them for cheaper. The whole release was a mess. I only managed to get one because i didn't have time. I grabbed the scary/evil knight. he's awesome. Im going back to the faun. The knight and faun are both great figures, and I think the knight is one of the best army builders in my opinion. I have gotten quite a few of him but I'm wanting more. April 7, 20168 yr Many eastern MA/southeastern TRUs are empty, or have old stock that has been sitting (picked over) for weeks. A few Targets I have visited (for example, to search for more Olafs/fire cars) had a few left (got another shark suit guy that way) but were clearly not restocking - what a mess. Most of my S15 purchases were for 2 for $5 at TRU NH. Anecdotes: the last time I visited the Lego store at the North Shore Mall (last week), they were "out", but I believe expected to restock, and the 30 Rockefeller Center (non flagship, this past Monday) NYC store was offering two injured guys and one faun. The greeter woman said that they were the last three that the store had.
April 7, 20168 yr Series 15 is definitely more popular/more in demand than Monsters was. Here in Ireland, every toy shop I go to seems to have a single Series 15 box which tends to be basically cleared out - and most toy shops also have a box or multiple boxes of Monsters which are practically still full. I actually found a toy shop out on my adventures that had 3 full boxes of Monsters and only a single box of Series 15.
