Robert8 Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 So anotherwords we don't know that the minifigure will actually even have writing on it. All we know is that a drawing of it had squiggles. I'd say it will be both: generic scribbles and the designers names Quote

Robert8 Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 I would guess it may actually be character names (e.g. Characters from the CMF line). That would be funny "The Queen XOXO" "100101" "剣道家" Quote
telaruhn Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Nice signatures for the Laser Robot and the Kendo Fighter! Speaking of which, I'm excited to see those two figures: the former because we've seen plenty of robots before and I'm wondering what they'll do this time, and the latter because of its possible compatibility to the S13 Samurai... Actor Builder Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I thought the "scribbles" on his cast were bits of confetti from new years. Quote

telaruhn Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) That would be awesome! However, I'm not sure how well that robot would translate to minifigure form. I would expect the upcoming one to use the minifigure torso and legs. I hope for a new gun, though, if it ends up having one. I also considered that the Laser Robot could be a cyborg, which is something we've only seen with the S3 Space Villain, though an actual robot seems more likely. Jern92 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I'm just looking forward to getting Shark Guy Quote
BrickOn Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I think it looks like signatures on the cast on closer inspection, rather than confetti. For me personally I quite like, since I had already dismissed the leg as not the right colour for reuse, so it's cool to have some detail. I quite like the personal touches in the different series, but I see how they can be annoying. For this guy though we do get the head bandage, the crutches and another beaten up face we can use in other places, so it's not a complete loss if you want to reuse parts :-) And at some point we will get a hospital with less detailed casts but following the same idea? telaruhn Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) I must say, the cast is a clever use of the technology behind dual-color molded legs. It's not the first thing that popped into my mind, so I applaud the unexpected use. Given the context, it's clear the white foot is meant to be a cast even without the signatures on it, and using the legs for anything but a cast would look funny IMO. Using the legs multiple times also seems unfruitful since anyone with a cast would have dark blue legs as well. That said, I don't think the printing is totally at fault for its inability to be used multiple times or in other settings. I know a lot of people like to have their casts signed by their pals, so a blank one would seem like the guy has no friends :( Edited November 2, 2015 by telaruhn Quote
MAB Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 There is a downside to having dual molded legs. That is that older ones where it is not used start to look odd next to them, when there is two colour printing on the front and sides but not on the back. Quote

That is that older ones where it is not used start to look odd next to them, when there is two colour printing on the front and sides but not on the back. While I agree that they often look odd together, there are still some great ones that look just fine in my opinion. But this is also an argument for remakes of older sets. For example, classic Forestmen did not have any printing on the back of the torso. They could upgrade that, maybe add dual molded arms in green and tan, and dual molded legs in green and brown or black to give the impression of boots. I'd love to see them revisit a lot of the older, outdated sets and figures with their new techniques and technology, bringing them up to date. Quote

That is that older ones where it is not used start to look odd next to them, when there is two colour printing on the front and sides but not on the back. That's true but it becomes inevitable eventually as TLG makes changes. The old style round-ended swords look funny next to pointy newer ones, old grey looks dated next to bley, plastic capes look clunky compared to cloth ones, some hats without hair look weird compared to combined hat 'n' hair pieces, and the classic smiley face appears simplistic compared to later face printing for example. Robert8 Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) Oh I forgot to thank Tragic Banjo for the hint in his/her profile pic. It was totally spot on. Edited November 3, 2015 by Robert8 Quote

Ardelon Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 So I guess we know where the green football helmet is from - Aanchir posted a pic in the Ninjago 2016 thread, with a pirate wearing what I assume is that helmet (a normal illustration, not a photo of a minifig). http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=111975&st=850#entry2373708 Quote
telaruhn Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Interesting. Even if it is used for that Ninjago pirate character, I wouldn't be bothered if we got a Zombie Football Player in the future. Speaking of stuff on that sticker book, Jay's golden shoulder pad is an interesting new piece, though part of me wishes it covered both shoulders. As someone mentioned before, it could be used for the upcoming Kendo Fighter. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I see Macy's Plume/hair in black in that Ninjango picture. Looks cool in black. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I am quite relieved that there won't be a Zombie footballer this wave. And now we can put the stupid "which is more easily confused as a zombie footballer? Fright Knight or Astronaut?" Question to rest. I see Macy's Plume/hair in black in that Ninjango picture. Looks cool in black. It's probably Aura Sing's ponytail piece, not Macy's. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

I've done kendo for a while and so I'm really looking forward to a more accurate minifig than in Ninjago. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Now I'm not saying this piece is going to be in this series, but it definitely could be. Unless it's in a another set I don't know of. http://img02.taobaocdn.com/bao/uploaded/i2/TB1CMxGKpXXXXb8XpXXXXXXXXXX_!!0-item_pic.jpg_640x640.jpg Maybe the wresting champ, but then people would think he's a weight lifter. I honestly don't know, it might not even be in a series, but they've already made it in two other colors. Edited November 5, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Silver weights have appeared before, as hubcaps on the Ecto-1, for example. It's not a new piece, so I don't know why it was "leaked". I don't think it has any reason to be in this series. Edited November 5, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
