Pedilego Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Sorry if this has already been asked, but I've never really paid attention to this series, but can these be purchased in-store like Toys'R'Us or Target? Thanks. Yeah. I even found them in some stores at a New Zealand airport. Not a toy store with Legos... at a convenience type store with one small shelf of assorted toys. We had some foreign currency to burn so it worked out nicely. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) It's like they're asking you to make Hawkman! (Winged Warrior & Scary Knight) Edited December 3, 2015 by Mr Greeble Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 The Satyr looks good, even though the color scheme of having yellow skin seems ehhh. I kind of hoped that he would have a tail piece also, but with the HD pics he doesn't. Astronaut definitely looks like the Mercury Era space suits, classic. The scary or evil knight is really awesome, and I knew clumsy guy wouldn't get new arm molding. His crutches look odd the way they fit him, its like they are oversized for him. The mold looks great. 8BrickMario Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) While the shape of the plastic sheets are better, I might just use these wings on Hawkman instead. Even though I don't adore this series like I did for past ones, it seems like the most useful ones yet released, and thus, prompting me to buy multiple copies of almost every figure. Borex Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 So this time, we have three figures with multiple new molds, the Animal Control, Satyr, and Shark Costume Guy. Well we have clumsy guy who has the new bandage wrap and crutches. Btw someone mentioned to use the faun's legs for a custom devil. Good call. Will make one myself too. So after seeing the hi-res images my top 3 is: - Faun. May need three now. Two more to make a devil fig and a lak sivrak (mos eisley cantina) - Winged Warrior. I think they will look great as a sort of godly policeforce. - Janitor. I dont know exactly why i like him so much Bottom 3: Jewel thief, ballerina and kendoka. The kendoka does have leg printing btw. - The animal control girl has a nice armprint with a raccoon on it. Will there be a future raccoon? - The mech in hi-res does look more promising, but still not convinced. Colour scheme is nice though. He looks a bit as a power ranger type of mech fighting kaiju. - with the use of the brown chima bear head you'll have a great warlord and his army. If i was in castles this would be the fig i would buy lots of. - Astronaut. A mustbuy because i look like him haha. Too bad they didnt use the eighties space helmet on him. - and is the blue on clumsy guy the same as captain america? Iron man vs captain america anyone? Quote
Brickadier General Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 These are pretty sweet, though IMO the golden Valkyrie is a must-have! :-) Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Not sure if anyone has noticed, but the Indian girl has that back piece to hold the baby on the back. That's awesome. Farmer has arm printing, not sure if anyone has noticed that. Edited December 3, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote

BricksrDamian2 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 The Robot minifigure looks like the old one that was orange and white Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 The Robot minifigure looks like the old one that was orange and white He also has the same helmet molding and armor molding as the evil mech. Except this one has a sword and wings. This Laser robot looks better. Quote
angmotan Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Looking forward to Whitefang's review ;) Quote
Robert8 Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Looking forward to Whitefang's review ;) We'll have to wait until LEGO officially reveal them Quote
AmperZand Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Someone (apologies, I forgot who) suggested that the robot has medium azure hands. I can't tell from the image if they are. Are they? I very much hope so as I have wanted a pair for my CMF genie since his release. I don't care for the pearl gold hands he comes with and have already replaced them with dark azure ones, but medium azure would be ideal as the rest of the minifig's skin is that colour. Quote

Gadzooks Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Does anyone know of a LEGO head that has weird blue facepaint? Only thing I can think of is a cutscene from the LEGO Battles DS game: The Series 6 Highland Battler looks like it was modeled after this guy, sans blue facepaint. The Astronaut is easily my favorite, followed by the Satyr. Might have to get multiples just for the flag. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I change my mind on the wrestler. He is clearly Ultimate Warrior and this homage makes LEGO the best company ever, as if it was to be specified again. RIP Ultimate Warrior!!! Pretty cool homage LEGO. Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 9. Satyr: Best figure in the series, and those legs open so many new possibilities, I think that combining those legs with some Nexo Knights' baddies torso, and this head, one can easilly make a devil minifig... Ooh, that's a nice idea! While the shape of the plastic sheets are better, I might just use these wings on Hawkman instead. I was hoping for a new mold for the wings specifically so I could replace Hawkman's, I've thought about doing this, but I'm not convinced I'll like it. I'll definitely be trying it out to see how it looks, though! His crutches look odd the way they fit him, its like they are oversized for him. The mold looks great. Agreed on both counts. ----- Thanks everyone, for all of the pics! This looks like a fairly decent line up. January is going to be so expensive! Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I guess it's time to spill my thoughts: 1. Winged Warior is awesome, he is so... gold, plus, he's a good cheap way to get that Chima Phoenix armor. 2. Animal Control: Meh, the figure itself is boring, but the skunk is really nice... 3. Laserbot: Even though it's just a remake of the Mecha, I. WANT. IT. 4. Janitor: The mop is cool, and I could give one to a Pirate cabin boy to swab the deck... 5. Jewel thief is pretty cool, the Black Widow's hair in black really add to the character. 6 Pig Farmer: I like his legs. And the piggy looks cute. :) 7. Astronaut: I'd prefer him to have the old half-dome visor, than regular one, but still, nice fig, and dat CS flag... 8. Knight: Perhaps my favourite fig, but It would make more sense if his tabard and plume were red, or dark red, to go along with the shield... 9. Satyr: Best figure in the series, and those legs open so many new possibilities, I think that combining those legs with some Nexo Knights' baddies torso, and this head, one can easilly make a devil minifig... 10. Shark guy: I'm not into animal costume minifigs, but it's a decent one, the fin arms are nice addition. 11. Queen: I love it, she looks so majestic, and the new dress piece is great. 12. Wrestler: Dat. Mullet. 13. Ballerina: I wonder what material is her tutu made of, propably the same rubbery plastic as in the Actor's and Sad Clown's ruffle. 14. Squaw: So, that's how newborn minifigs look like, another Lego mystery solved! XD 15. Kendoka: Bokken? More like boring. He doesn't even have printed legs, and some printed pleats to emulate a Hakama wouldn't hurt... 16. Clumsy Guy: If you build a lego hospital, you might want to get a lot of those guys, the crutches, the head bandages can be all really useful for many MOCs and scenarios, anywhere. Now, if the crutches were brown, or at least tan, they could be used in historical themes as well... I'd be awful careful there, squaw is a pretty offensive term. Quote
thetang22 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'd be awful careful there, squaw is a pretty offensive term. Depends on the audience and context. The word by itself doesn't actually have an offensive meaning. It's basically just "Native American woman"...which has been used appropriately here. Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I'd be awful careful there, squaw is a pretty offensive term. Huh, learned something new. Not a word I would ever see myself using, but I didn't know it was offensive. I always thought it just connoted a historical context/role. Reading up on the term and its etymology, I came across a line about stereotypical portrayals of the "squaw with the papoose", which raises the question: if the term is offensive, how is the fig itself not an offensive representation of said stereotype? I dunno, I didn't care about that particular fig before, and I don't now, but that got me thinking about it. Anyway. Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Depends on the audience and context. The word by itself doesn't actually have an offensive meaning. It's basically just "Native American woman"...which has been used appropriately here. It probably does depend on the audience, but I'm fairly certain if you refer to a Native American woman as a squaw in front of her, you will not have a very pleasant reaction. I certainly didn't mean to start a big topic of debate here so I'm going to drop this now. In topic, I am very excited or this series, and still trying to decide exactly how much of which figures I'll be buying. Quote
Phyre Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Any idea roughly when TLG reveal them? Probably pretty soon, now that some hi-res images have leaked. My guess is within the next week, hopefully. In regards to the pictures, I'm a little disappointed now that the "Scary" Knight has a normal face and therefore isn't the undead warrior I was hoping for, but aside from that he's still a really cool figure, especially with that shield and mace. Edited December 4, 2015 by Phyre Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 As some have said already, I'm also disappointed that the Animal Control officer has that tired hairpiece. Majority of female officers from different agencies i've seen all have their hair tied up to a bun or ponytail like the hairpiece, so i guess that's why they gave her that hairpiece most of us are tired of seeing. The only other hairpiece I can think of that is short that could possibly work for Animal Control officer is the Diner Waitress's hairpiece from series 11. In a dark brown color, i think it would have looked better. Plus, i don't think we've seen her hairpiece re used anywhere besides series 11, but I may be wrong. Quote
