telaruhn Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) My top 5 are the Satyr, Winged Warrior, Tribal Woman, Laser Mech, and Animal Control Officer. I love the skunk a lot, but the officer herself is pretty fantastic too. That raccoon badge could be used for more than just animal control. I also quite like her sheepish face. It's basic, but from the looks of it she's happy to do her job but a bit nervous about going after the skunk, as if she knows she'll get sprayed... The good news is it looks like you can't even tell what's on the nametag, so the torso can be used for multiple (female) officers. Male officers can still use the arms! I don't mind the Farmer. It's just that he has such a bland-looking hat and legs compared to his detailed torso. Having the plain brown and blue legs isn't bad, but it's a shame they didn't do anything to the hat, such as making the string on it a different color. I think that it would have made the Farmer more interesting and it was a missed opportunity. He'll likely get back print as with previous overall-wearers such as the Plumber. That said, the arms have such great print that I wish he wasn't wearing overalls and his torso just had that green shirt instead... My least favorite is probably the Wrestling Champion, only because I wish the belt was a mold and not a print... The trophy feels incongruous, based on my limited knowledge of awards in pro wrestling. Edited December 5, 2015 by telaruhn Quote
Rogue Angel Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Least favorite would be Kendo warrior or astronaut. Jewel thief would be the worst, but she comes with a different hairpiece. The farmer comes with a generic hat, which is extremely useful (vs. the scarecrow's patched hat), plus a pig! Very good parts fig. Quote
Robert8 Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 My least favorite is the Wrestling Champion but, as others said, the Farmer is kinda lackluster too This mismatch in the printing annoys me Quote
LuketheLEGOgeek Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 This is maybe for another forum, but I sadly I can start one. Anyway, I've found the full LEGO Batman v Superman set with the Batmobile. Apparently the set is called ''Kryptonite Interception'' : http://www.brickheroes.com/2015/12/76045-kryptonite-interception-premier-visuel-complet-du-set/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Quote

BrickFit26 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 American Indian cradleboards often were rather plain, so I'm fine with it. Plus, it makes the baby slightly more versatile. I didn't know, it makes sense that they did leave it plain so it can be more versatile. Looks to me like the Satyr does have a tail. If you open up the hi-res version of that last group shot, and zoom it in, it appears that there is something of a tail's tip to be seen jutting from his back at the rear of the plate-stand. I wish he came with a tail, but I also don't think he has one. Even with the high resolution picture I don't see it. Quote
8BrickMario Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I'm guessing the tail will be represented by back printing. Besides, a tail would require a third new mold for the figure, which is too much for just one figure. Quote

escortmad79 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Why does everyone wonder if the tutu is cloth? It's clearly a solid rubber or plastic. Cloth wouldn't be able to keep that specific shape. I'm glad the Queen will be so easy to find. The tutu looks as though it'll be the same rubbery material as the Shakespearian actors ruff Huh, learned something new. Not a word I would ever see myself using, but I didn't know it was offensive. I always thought it just connoted a historical context/role. Reading up on the term and its etymology, I came across a line about stereotypical portrayals of the "squaw with the papoose", which raises the question: if the term is offensive, how is the fig itself not an offensive representation of said stereotype? I dunno, I didn't care about that particular fig before, and I don't now, but that got me thinking about it. Anyway. The word Eskimo is also considered by Inuits to be offensive. Sorry if this has already been asked, but I've never really paid attention to this series, but can these be purchased in-store like Toys'R'Us or Target? Thanks. Yes, should be available in Toys'R'Us etc I don't like that they chose white for the ballerina's body. I think it should have been yellow with white printing. It looks odd. White printing on yellow torso's can look seriously washed out which would give the look of a transparent looking top which certainly wouldn't be the most child friendly! Quote

x105Black Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) I've never seen an Astronaut with a ray gun The Series 1 Spaceman is a Sci-Fi character. A guy who lives in the space. Think on the Jetsons or something. The S15 Astronaut is a City character. I mean, he is inspired in a real life job. I'm not going to say they don't look alike, because they do. But they are very different characters. While you say they are very different, I agree, but I also say that they are very similar. Both use the Classic Space logo, so I'd consider both to be "Space" themed. Even if the new one looks like he would fit into City more than the older one, I'd identify both as Sci-Fi. This logo is "Space" themed: And this logo is "City" themed: I know, I'm being pedantic. They're very similar. It ultimately doesn't matter, as you can use them any way you see fit. it's a shame they didn't do anything to the hat, such as making the string on it a different color. I think the Farmer's hat may indeed have printing. In the past, these renders have lacked some of the detail of the final product. Much like the mismatched colors on the farmer's overalls between the torso and legs, I think that this is a result of that rendering process as well. Edited December 5, 2015 by x105Black Quote

x105Black Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I hope so, because some color/detail is needed for the farmers hat. Agreed. It does look bland without it. I was definitely hoping for some color on the string when we first saw the preliminary image of the hat. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Agreed. It does look bland without it. I was definitely hoping for some color on the string when we first saw the preliminary image of the hat. Right, just like the Scarecrows hat had. It was dark brown and the ribbon was beige. The ribbon for the farmers hat is what needs some color. Quote
Sven F Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Does anyone know if the janitor torso is dark bluish grey, light grey or sand blue,? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Sand blue, it's a first time we've seen it for dual molded arms. Quote
x105Black Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 It must be the render that's making it look like a bluish grey, then, because it certainly does. As much as I wasn't that much a fan of the Janitor, the news that he is sand blue rather than dark bluish grey is disappointing. Quote
MAB Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 For me, it's the wrestler. I never watched pro wrestling, and unlike almost every other minifig, he has no parts that I could use elsewhere. No use for a mullet? Looks to me like the Satyr does have a tail. If you open up the hi-res version of that last group shot, and zoom it in, it appears that there is something of a tail's tip to be seen jutting from his back at the rear of the plate-stand. The series feels like an even mixture, between new, original characters that needed to be finally made, and then those fig designs left-over from different departments over the years that, for whatever reason, never really made it into production, in a set or individually, but that were still favorites of their respective design teams. Like, "Hey guys, we only have half of the slots filled for the next CMF series, so, if you got a fig mock-up that never made the cut, submit it now or let it RIP..." And with the astronaut represented again, it does seem to maybe be a signal for the ending of a certain CMF "era", and the transition into a new one. A house-cleaning... 16 might be the magic number. The spaceman / astronaut is not the first similar pairing though. We've had loads of mechs, robots, pairs like flamenco and now ballet, etc. Male - female pairs like tennis, caveman, cyclops, etc. The spaceman although a similar idea is very different printing to the new astronaut. They don't even look like they come from the same series the print style is so different. Quote
Sven F Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 If you compare the colors with other renders, eg. Monster rocker who is sand blue, there is an obvious difference in shades. Looks closer to the dbg hood of the spectre, but maybe they use different light settings. Quote
cebelicamya Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 My least favorite is the Wrestling Champion but, as others said, the Farmer is kinda lackluster too This mismatch in the printing annoys me I was thinking the same, but then I found a solution. I will use legs from genie girl, series 12, i think they are in the same color. Quote
gedren_y Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 This City torso is why I see the upcoming Astronaut as City. It is also how Lego ties the City and Space themes into one universe. Quote
