Cagast Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) I was thinking the same, but then I found a solution. I will use legs from genie girl, series 12, i think they are in the same color. I believe that's just how the computer rendered the image, while in reality we'll get properly colored legs. This City torso is why I see the upcoming Astronaut as City. It is also how Lego ties the City and Space themes into one universe. The reason why I see him as City is because he is so generic. That helmet makes him even less interesting than 2011 City astronauts. I was really hoping for a new mold, something like City piece but with the glass part covering only the front part of the head. My top list is 1.Satyr 2.Winged warrior 3.Shark Guy 4.Scary knight 5.Janitor Edited December 6, 2015 by Cagast Quote
x105Black Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 This City torso is why I see the upcoming Astronaut as City. It is also how Lego ties the City and Space themes into one universe. To me, this jacket is much like the Blacktron and Fabuland shirts from the LEGO Movie sets: I wouldn't call one a Blacktron figure, and the other a Fabuland figure, just as I wouldn't call the guy in the Space logo jacket a Space figure. These are general civilians who happen to be wearing something that depicts the logo of another theme. With the Astronaut it's different, because he's actually wearing the logo as a designation rather than a fashion statement. To me, he is clearly employed by the exploration organization from the Space theme, not the astronaut crew from City space sets. Quote

telaruhn Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Regarding the mismatch on the overall colors of the Farmer - maybe it's because LEGO knows that printed colors don't always match up to what they're intended to be. This is particularly the case for certain color combos, such as yellow printed on white plastic and white printed on red plastic. So even if it doesn't look right on the render, the physical fig may have the colors match up. Hopefully the Ballerina doesn't have the awful mismatch on the torso like the Swashbuckler did... Quote
obsidianheart Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I was thinking the same, but then I found a solution. I will use legs from genie girl, series 12, i think they are in the same color. Doesn't she have the smoke-tail lower body, instead of legs? Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Guys, that picture is a RENDER, therefore the colors might be off. Quote

K_Tiger Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Yeah I totally agree with you. Only the WWF wrestling fans will rem Ultimate warrior. Might be a Hulk Hogan mf in the near future? Could reuse Shakespeare's head piece.... I definitely warmed up to the wrestler once I realized he is totally an homage to UW. My only regret is that i don't have a luchadore for him to tangle with. Off to BL, I reckon! Edited December 6, 2015 by K_Tiger Quote
gedren_y Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I think that the face of the CMF Aztec Warrior makes for a more accurate Ultimate Warrior. Quote
K_Tiger Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 You've got a point in regards to the shape of the face paint. Might have to slap one of my extra Aztec heads on the Wrestler and see how it looks with that mullet. Quote
x105Black Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 The wrestler reminds me of the ultimate warrior from WWF. Anyone with same thoughts? Absolutely, that was my first thought! I think that the face of the CMF Aztec Warrior makes for a more accurate Ultimate Warrior. That's pretty close, too. The shape over the cheeks is better, but the colors aren't as nice and wouldn't match the minifigure. Neither is a perfect replica of the character, but I'd take the new one as my preference. Quote

davidmull Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I am in doubt between kendoka and shark suit guy for the worst Ur kidding rite? The shark suit guy will be the most expensive in 12 months wait and see. Quote
Robert8 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 The most expensive will the Satyr, IMO. And the Tribal Woman for the baby and the Queen for the dress piece Quote
AmperZand Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 The word Eskimo is also considered by Inuits to be offensive. That's true but it isn't offensive etymologically (unlike many derogatory terms aimed at cultural, racial, ethnic and national groups). The problem is that "Inuit" isn't a substitute for "Eskimo". The former is a subset of the latter that also encompasses the Yupiks. I suppose "Inuit-Yupik" is the most accurate term but it doesn't exactly trip off the tongue. Back to the topic at hand, my favourites are: 1. Satyr 2. Evil knight 3. Winged warrior 4. Queen 5. Shark suit guy My least favourite is probably the janitor. As a collector of fantasy/mythological, historical, horror, super hero and sci-fi minifigs, I can't really think of a use for him or any of his parts. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wow! This is a pretty solid series, the Queen and Satyr easily tie for my favorite, with the Winged Warrior coming in close, will post more thoughts tomorrow, glad the feedback is all positive, Lego deserves a pat on the back for this series. Itaria No Shintaku Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Guys everybody is entitled to have an opinion. I totally have no use for the shark suit guy plus: - he has no hands - he comes without acessories - he has no reusable parts - he is a very specific minifigure and I cant use him in nothing except perhaps a costume theme party. He probably will end up being one of the most expensive but that doesn't change the fact I have zero use for him and I have reasons for disliking him Quote
Rogue Angel Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 The only thing I do with my animal/food costume guys is put them in my display case. They are quaint, but don't serve much use other than City store mascots, masquerade ball attendants or MOC easter eggs, none of which I build/use at this point. Army building and parts usage/fig usage are the reason I collect CMFs, not collectability or monetary value. Quote
Sven F Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I am on the same train, but i often get surprised how useful a certain part of a figure can become, 2 or 3 years after i systematically avoided said character out of apparent uselessness. Quote
Robert8 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Guys everybody is entitled to have an opinion We know Itaria. We are just kidding you Edited December 8, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
Yooha Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I only put my minifigs on display and never build any MOCs, so I don't have any "specification" for I wnt t buy. I prefer castle/fantasy, but sometimes I find minifigs attractive without any sound reason, like the crash test dummy or the astronaut in this series. Quote
