These are strange tales this thread tells. Pre-felt bags, limited numbers for each customer, boxes with other feeling customers.

I just taught another employee the feeling method. She looked at me with unbelieving eyes. I asked her if she wanted me to stop, but she said it was ok. It took me almost an hour to find 4 more grim knights, because they were the very last in the box. I always worry about being mistaken for a shoplifter.

my favourite place to hunt has the bags down the aisle with the other lego. they must have cameras in the area, as the first few times, the security guard did a not so subtle walk by.

Bought 8 of these recently, wanted the winged guardian and mech guy, but didn't get either :S. Some cool pieces though from some of the other characters :)

Indeed. My local TRU sells three of them together in plastic movie/video game cases to prevent people from stealing pieces. Intentions are good, but it doesn't help the honest feelers.

Aaaaaaah, my local TRU didn't have any out (which I thought was weird) but this may be why. I'll have to look next time I'm in there. Were the boxes near the other LEGOs?

For one of the early series, the Argos nearest me at the time limited customers to four CMFs each. I wanted a lot more than that so went to the WHS round the corner instead and bought a sealed box of 60. If TRU or whoever isn't providing a good shopping experience, don't put up with it; go somewhere else. There are lots of options including online ones such as BrickLink and Ebay.

WHS? Which store is that?

WHS? Which store is that?

WH Smith. National chain. They're best known as stationers and their selection of LEGO is limited and not particularly good value. But they do get stock of lots of CMFs usually fairly early and are not too fussy about observing street date embargoes, limits per customer etc. For those series that I didn't get a box, the staff/managers there were happy for me to stand by the till and feel the packets.

I haven't seen S15 yet, but the past few series have been divided up like this, but sold on the regular shelves.

WHS is a store I've never seen or been to called W.H. Smith's.

I will sit cross-legged on the floor and feel for the ones I want. I suppose people looks at me weird, but I wouldn't know, I'm too busy with bags!

I stay there and feel the bags get the ones i want and separate the ones that are the same and put them back together so the next person won't have it so bad in taking to long to search.

Aaaaah, thank you guys! Yeah, I've never seen one either, guess they're not big in the Southeast US :/

I encountered this limit for the first time today at TRU. They were behind the service counter. I ended up having a good time talking with the lady working the register. She was cool. Said that the limit was supposed to be 2 but she'd up it to 4. She also said that they're doing it this way because they only got one box and that they'd be easier about it in a couple of weeks when they get more. I was able to get 3 knights and a Jewel thief for my daughter.

I think they ran into production issues with this series. Hitting the European market first and in limited quantities (initially) here in the states.

Some great figures this series, the faun especially. The only one I wanted that I didn't get during my first time at Target was the animal control girl. Waited till they restocked and was amazed at how easy they are to find with that huge net. Don't even need to feel, you can see the bulge. Grabbed two for the skunks, but honestly the printing on the fig is really great too with the raccoon badge. Only thing is it makes me wish we got a raccoon with her! The skunk is very nice though. Tempting to make an animal control van for them.

Wear an official looking outfit and tell them your with quality control. Probably won't get anymore weird looks. :)

Edit: Quick question, I assume stores are replenished right? So, if one week a box is picked clean, then the next they should have a fresh box if they don't already have a mountain of them in back?

Does anyone on here trade? Is that even allowed here?

I just have an open Astronaut or Samurai i'd like to trade off for a Faun? :)

Any other ideas on what I could do?

No sign of Series 15 in the Apex/Morrisville NC Targets near Cary. Aargh! They claim that a third party supplies the LEGO and that they have nothing to do with it. It just comes when it comes. Has anyone heard this before? My first time, and I find it hard to believe. Target has little say as to what is on their LEGO shelves? I would like a couple of ballerinas and a shark suit guy. Guess that will have to wait. My only store gifts cards left are at Target, so Target it will be.

Minifigureless Minnesotan

I just called the Burnsville TRU and the Mall of America store, and they both sold out within the first 3 days. Seriously. . . :hmpf_bad:
