karrit Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 There's a seal in one of the side builds! Quote
bricks4live1972 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Yes Found , Well really nice , no but i will buy the set. Quote
keba Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Really small building, and quite empty inside. Where are those 1440 pices, looks like more 1000 or less. I am not convinced, i must see it more detailed first. Quote
Lion King Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I guess reminding icees go to hot air balloon? 1 hour ago, RichardGoring said: Why is there a fireplace on the outside? I guess they gonna burn naught kids’ letters outside? Quote
Celtchief Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) Looks great. I know it's not huge or anything, but its a nice addition to fill out the North Pole. Someone mentioned having the fireplace on the outside. A: I used my Winter Village sets as displays, like a traditional department store collection, so having elements on the outside facing the POV I set up is great. B: But that said, I was curious about outside fireplaces, so I googled it. It is 100 percent a thing. I like the height of the balloon, which is also nice to have for a layout. I think it will look very nice with the other Santa Centric sets. Edited September 16, 2024 by Celtchief Quote
Flippi01 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Definitely a bit underwhelming to my eyes …. Fairly random shoe horning together a balloon and a post office not sure of the reasoning - will buy it any way but feel this is the weakest release since well I can think of !! Seems a fairly muted response on here to - I feel this used to be a highly anticipated release now not so much … Quote
Arstotle Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Has the image been pulled? I'm not seeing it anywhere on that IG page Quote
mark1991t Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) If its not there anymore, you can view it also on Reddit / legoleaks Edited September 16, 2024 by mark1991t Autocorrect Quote
Arstotle Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Thanks, found it on Reddit. I like it overall. From a size standpoint, I think it's wider than Santa's Workshop was, with about the same depth as most of the WV sets. I think a lot of pieces are consumed in the hot air balloon landing pad and the contraption to get the letters down into the building. I'm guessing a traditional roofline would be a little more simple, and require fewer pieces. And I agree that the inside looks a bit empty, but I wonder if there will be a little more to it. There are a pair of studs where the mail should be dropping into the building, which makes me wonder if there's a piece of equipment that is supposed to go there to catch the mail. If so, that will likely make the interior look a little more full. I like the look of it overall, and I think it goes well with the Elf Clubhouse, while not directly replicating the lines of that building. I like the colors well enough - it looks more like gold/tan and blue instead of orange and blue, but I could be seeing that wrong. Part of me wishes that the truck had been included in the set, but being separate allows us to buy more than one truck for the post office if we so desire. Overall, it's different, and I like it. LegoDW Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 First, glad they are contining the theme. Winter Village is basically if TLG builds it I will by it! As for this years release wish more pieces were in the building vs secondary builds. Not a lot of room for elves inside. Quote
Undi3sss Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I like the fantasy style sets, but another Santa so soon feels pretty boring (if you count the sleigh set that came out around the same time as Santa’s Visit). Would’ve liked a new elf colour with a new hat mould or Santa in a summer shirt not working look or something to make the Minifigures selection more desirable. Quote

It would be good if at least the elves had different torso prints. Like maybe the pilot would have leather straps and buckles for safety in the balloon, or one of the workers has suspenders. Something to make each one a little unique. On the whole, I like it, but I don't love it. My tastes in WV sets tends more to the less fantastical, so this one was never going to be a favorite. I want to see more pics and/or get my hands on it before I can really decide on it. Quote
CDM Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I like the fantasy aspect to the series but after seeing the result I do wish this were a literal post office decorated for the holidays. I get the story here...elves deliver the letters to Santa to the North Pole via hot air balloon...and i like the chute concept, but the overall model is lacking IMO. Is this series sputtering out? (rhetorical) Quote
Christmas Jack Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I think I'll like it more once that signpost is positioned out the front -- because apart from that, what visual clues are there that the building is even a Post Office? I'm disappointed that there aren't more post boxes out the front, or a wall of PO boxes along the side. The design essentially relies on people recognising a brick-built post horn, which for me (as a non-European) is quite a stretch. I like the balloon dock though, it seems like a fun play feature. Quote
aakos12 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 First of all, I must confess, that I'm not a fan of the fantasy line within WV... But this set is really disappointing in my opinion. The main building feels unfinished, more like a draft and if I didn't know it was a post office, I'd probably couldn't figure it out, even the horn is hard to recognize. I wish at least some of the elves had red hats or their torsos had an updated/different print. Unfortunately the only part that I sort of like is the roof with the snow. Well, maybe next year.:) Quote
FrkW Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I just looked through pics of the last couple of years sets, and it really doesn't hold up in comparison in my book. It looks small and sort of plain, a throw back in a bad way. The last five years or so have all been amazing in my opinion, but this pretty much breaks the streak. Hope it's temporary. Quote
hugore Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I have very mixed feelings. I like the balloon, but the rest is very basic. I miss the Gingerbread house time... Quote
Robert8 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Looks a little small to me Also, Im suprised they didnt reuse the S23 hair+hat combo. A recolor would had been nice Quote
temes Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 I don't care even though it's somewhat small, it looks the same size as, for example, Santa's Workshop. What bothers me the most is that it doesn't really have anything postal-office-like about it, it could be any building. The building itself is not particularly impressive or detailed either and the hot air balloon is a bit out of place. I haven't bought Winter Village sets in a few years, and I think I'll skip this year as well. Quote

R0Sch Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Set looks mediocre at best. More side-builds than building. What happened to halfway decent depth WV buildings? Quote
Arstotle Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I would hope that we'll be seeing official pics of this set by Monday or Tuesday. It should be available for sale a week from Tuesday. I still think we haven't quite seen everything that's included in the set - I don't see 1400+ pieces in the few pics that have leaked. Regarding the lack of updated anything with the elves, I would point out that there appears to be a post office insignia on the upper left chest of the elves. Unless that has been done in a previous set or CMF (I'm not aware of it, but it's certainly possible), then it would seem that we are technically getting new elf prints in this set. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 (edited) Thanks for the news! 🙂 Like the majority already said, I see this set maximum middling, too: - The combination of nougat with blue doesn't fit well. - The main building (without entrance and living room) is much too small and looks strange with the top being wider than below. - I fear that when putting the balloon away from its stand, the house will look even more weird. - That the interior floor isn't covered with tiles (like in nearly all previous WV buildings) looks too simple. - Maybe that's a reason why the interior looks empty. I hope with more pics showing up early, I will change my opinion. But for now, apart from the very well designed hot air balloon, the set looks more like the B- or C-model of a Creator 3 in 1 set and seems to be by far the worst WV set so far. FrkW Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 It's up on the website. I like colours better a little better now, and in the last pic with the other WV sets it doesn't look quite as small. I think I would have liked it a lot more if they had stuck to one 'wing' of the house and made it it a little taller. And more detailed inside. I don't know, it just lacks that magic something for me. Quote
