finish-last Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Maybe, just maybe, GRogall is Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen... in disguise. But probably not. Did anyone think of giving the 10193 - Medieval Market Village white roofs to fit the winter village theme? Expensive though. 160€ on ebay *cough cough* Edited August 6, 2015 by finish-last Quote
Blackpool Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I have done exactly that. I was able to find someone with just the buildings and no minifigs for pretty cheap. I replaced the roof tiles and added some Christmas décor. They fit in really well with the other sets. I'm also planning on adding Mountain Hut and Changing Seasons to the mix this year Quote
Kaanere Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The set could be a candy shop disguised like a gingerbread house... Quote
Hewman Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 $79.95 for those in the US according to bn.com. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 So it will be bigger than Santa's Workshop Good Quote
BlockLogo Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Read on another forum that there is supposed to be a new Christmas train along with the gingerbread house/candy shop. I don't know where they got their info though... Here's what it said: Seasonal set news!Holiday vignettes (like the Valentine's and Easter sets) Halloween: Kid trick or treating, dressed as a witch, there's a stoop and a front door with a skeleton answering it. Thanksgiving: Restaurant scene - chef wheeling out a full turkey on a cart, pie underneath it, there's a table with a woman sitting at it ready to be served. Christmas 1: Kids building a snowman outside a snowy front porch Christmas 2: "Santa's Visit" fireplace, tree, presents 2015 Holiday Promo sets First is a train, looks like a Christmas version of the Emerald Express. Second is a gingerbread house. Apparently looks amazing. Quote

I think there was a similar holiday train in 2012. Edit: http://brickset.com/sets/40034-1/Christmas-Train Edited August 7, 2015 by Hewman Quote
tafkatb Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 If the train and gingerbread house are listed as "promo sets," they're most likely the GWPs for October and Black Friday. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Thank you very much for this information, BlockLogo! I'm not that keen on that small Creator train since I fear that it won't be minifig size. But a small gingerbread house sounds great in three ways: Firstly because imo a small one fits much better than a bigger one, secondly because you get it for free and thirdly and mainly because this means that we are not getting a gingerbread house as the WV set, but very likely a candy shop! If the train and gingerbread house are listed as "promo sets," they're most likely the GWPs for October and Black Friday. I bet on that. Klaus-Dieter Quote

Legocity2713 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) For once the actual small purchasable Christmas sets/vignettes are better than the promos. I'm honestly really hyped up for the Snowman building on the porch and a cozy fireplace scene. Not to mention a trick-or-treating scene and Thanksgiving scene. No doubt to be filled with a plethora of great parts. Maybe in the Halloween scene, the new CMF 14 Skeleton's pumpkin shaped candy bucket will be used, if not, I can add it in. This is some really exciting news!!! Edited August 7, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
Andy D Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) ...snip Did anyone think of giving the 10193 - Medieval Market Village white roofs to fit the winter village I never thought of this. I have used the MMV as part of my Christmas display ( though not lately) but maybe if I update it to look mor like the WV sets I will start using it again. Great idea, thanks. finish-last Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 It does look a bit out oft place, so the roof needs some extra tweaking. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w136/gatorzip02/Lego%203/London20.jpg Quote

I think the buildings need some trim in Christmas colors and maybe some winter looking vines on the walls and such, maybe some holly looking trim. I think the style of the buildings can be a good start, it just needs some winter, festive trim. Andy D Edited August 7, 2015 by Andy D Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I hadn't thought of using MMV as WV sets. But looking at just the white slopes, something seems amiss. I'd recommend utilizing the plate structure like the Post Office with some snow melting. I could see that work for the MMV sets. And I do agree some wintery/Christmassy details would help. I may have to consider doing something with my MMV since it is just sitting there on my shelf. Quote
Paperballpark Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) I know this contradicts what Grogall has said on another forum, but I've been told that this year's Winter Village set is indeed a Toy Shop, which will be for sale at £59.99 in the UK. Unfortunately I don't know any more details than that. Edited August 8, 2015 by Paperballpark Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Maybe it will be a toy shop and a small candy shop? It could be possible, with the main structure being a toy shop and a small structure a candy shop or vise versa. Quote
Karalora Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'll be pretty disappointed if it is a toy shop. Isn't it a little soon to be repeating basic concepts like that? Give us something new! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 If it is a toy shop, perhaps it's meant to compete against the old one, a bit of fair trading which would seem a first right ? Quote

Legocity2713 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 ^Me too, and the Thanksgiving one. Those holiday vignettes have been great this year. Its so true. Very reminiscent of the 2013 polybags. Really put the animals from last year to shame. Quote
finish-last Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Ah, OK!!! Now I understand everything. It was all so clear... it is indeed a new toy/candy shop. It's just like in a burger store... the new toy store will double your pleasure... https://amodularlife.wordpress.com/2010/08/15/my-modular-winter-toy-shop/ We just put the new candy store on top of the old toy shop, pure genius, everyone can be happy now ;) My second guess is a new toy shop which will include 3 window plates from the 4756-1: Shrieking Shack PLUS a new flag with "Out of Business" for the old shop. That would make sense too... Edited August 9, 2015 by finish-last Quote
paul_delahaye Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I heard the toy shop rumour back in the early part of this year, and was told by someone on the forum that it was just a placeholder, and not what the set was, so if it turns out to be a toy shop, I too will be disappointed that they have run out of ideas so quickly, Quote
