finish-last Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I wish they make a complete new train - that looks exactly like 10173 only with green ornaments and some extra minifigs. That is probably the official picture: http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5312718 No wait, that's what happened with the toy-shop. Nevermind. Edited April 21, 2016 by finish-last Quote
legonerd54321 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hopefully it'll come with a station, too. You can't have a winter train without a winter station. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 This would be an excuse to include curved tracks so you can have it run around the base of your tree. Quote
Sarah Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I just had a horrible thought -- What if we get a WInter Train, but it does not run on Lego track? Quote
gotoAndLego Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Nah, I think Lego knows the main appeal of a holiday train is to run it around the tree. I doubt it would be for their narrow gauge track; no space for the PF stuff. Edited April 21, 2016 by gotoAndLego Quote
Lego Matt 809 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Woo Hoo! Betting those will be the Death Star and this! Quote
finish-last Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I bet we get a remake of last years Toy Shop. Now brandnew without a light brick. Quote
parsom Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Honestly - I wouldn't mind remake of winter village bakery. Even without light brick. Quote
Robert8 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) So, this train is going to be big. Do we know the price? I'm afraid to ask this but... since the Disney Castle and Simpsons introduced exclusive characters with new molds, should we expect one for this set? Maybe Mrs Claus or Gingerbread Woman? :cry_sad: :cry_sad: (I'm assuming we are going to see Santa, Gingerbread Man and Holiday Elf again in this set) Edited July 29, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
Doofy3709 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I wish they would come out with a 20-30 dollar set that had Santa and his sleigh.. that would be nice. Quote
Rotundus Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) A narrow gauge train would fit in better with the look and feel of the rest of the village. "Slightly" off topic... I wonder what TLG was thinking when they decided that a merry-go-round with a few white bricks sprinkled in would pass as a Winter Village set? Edited July 30, 2016 by Rotundus Quote
Robert8 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 We got Mrs Claus already. Oh yeah I forgot about her. Or maybe an exclusive Snowman minifigure Quote
BrickJagger Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 So, this train is going to be big. Do we know the price? We don't, but I'll guess because guessing is fun. Most trains are in the range of $120-$180. Therefore, my guess is that the train will be priced between $120-$180. Quote
Sammael Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 The price very much depends on whether the train will include Power Functions or not, and also whether it will come with a station of some sort or not. Since the WV theme is aimed at casual fans, I imagine it will include PF (unlike Horizon Express, Maersk, and Emerald Night). On the other hand, to keep the price at the lower end of the train range, I think it won't include a station. My guess - $130. Quote
finish-last Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 $140 seems realistic For a Christmas tree track we need 16 curved rail tracks. $149 for 60051 and it includes 16 curved rail and 4 straight tracks that we actually dont need. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/High-speed-Passenger-Train-60051 I wouldn't expect super details for that amount of money. I'd rather see more "train" like in 10173 and the power functions should be optional. A winter village train station should be an extra set with lots of details. No one expects a trump tower for $140 to make the winter village great again. Quote
vclarke Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) Do you think LEGO produced this part in dark brown just to use it in the Ninjago set 70589. Or was it really made in that color to be used in the Winter train? Edited July 30, 2016 by vclarke Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) Thanks for posting the S@H calendar piece, CM4Sci! Since usually S@H sets are presented officially about one month before their release, I think - and hope - that we'll get pictures of the Winter Train at the latest in the middle of August. I bet that in the set there won't be any PF function nor any tracks included. That would make the set much too expensive since Creator Expert Sets are very detailed anyway - so we can expect the train to include many details, a nice build and some nice accessory. Which concerns the train station: I don't see any train station to be included in the big version of the set. But nesquik a long time ago mentioned that this set should be a 2 in 2 set. So couldn't it be that the building alternative is a much smaller train with a train station? I personally would prefer a train station to be included in the building alternative. Because in 2017 I want to get another building for my Winter Village which is a candy shop, a grocers or a town hall. And not having to wait for the next buidling / WV shop til 2018. But having this piece in brown integrated in a Winter Train set seems looking seldom to me - esp. in the steam engine. As part of some old styled passenger waggon it could be. temes Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I hope it's not too large, so that it fits to the Winter Village buildings' scale, which is rather small. Quote
sunhuntin Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I'm hoping to get some straights as well as curves, so it can encompass the Winter Village. Power Functions would be nice, or at least the instructions on how to do it, as i've not used them at all in builds. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Power Functions would be nice, or at least the instructions on how to do it, as i've not used them at all in builds. I'm quite sure that TLG designed the train in that way that you can add PF to it and this is shown in the instructions, too - like it has been with all previous Creator Expert trains. Klaus-Dieter That would be good. I've never bought one of the trains before, so wasn't aware of what the instructions were like. Quote
